Why is the tunnel from bank so bendy? Surely it's cheaper to make a straight tunnel? It would be funny to get into that computer, get it to almost stop at a few stations then accelerate away to annoy the punters and at canary wharf station open the left hand doors only so all the punters have to run over the bridge!
The Bank tunnel has to avoid foundations, sewers, services, building basements and other underground lines. There is no bridge over Canary Wharf, they'd have to go down to the shopping concourse and up the other side.
