What i think is a shame is that North Woolwich and Silvertown stations aren't included in the new Crossrail. It's great that some of the old line is being used but not making use of the stations even if they just did a peak time service to them.
May I suggest you extend your excellent ommentary to include the North Outfall Sewer, that the District Line is overhead and calls at at Weat Ham (with the Met. & C2C - then). Also the line does follow the old line/tram way from Canning Town to the tunnel (more or lsss). History just repeats itself what with Elizebeth Line also taking over the old Woolwich line you mention.
