Lythos - Heaven
Gradlon - Hell
People honestly give the story too much flak. Sure it isnt as complex as say, 3H, and it has predictable story beats, but it's quite consistent in its characters and its twists don't come out of nowhere, as in it had already been foreshadowed all the way from the start. So it's a pretty well-rounded story, though it does have a bit of a pacing issues. Whether its cringe or not its honestly up to taste, and believe if you just embrace it its honestly a fun and solid experience
its not really that cringe, its very...anime and a lot of people don't watch anime so for them its a departure from what theyre used to. for someone who watches anime its pretty average and good for a video game
Its story is definitely inferior to say, Path of Radiance or Three Houses, the people comparing it to conquest are kidding themselves, Engage is no real different than Awakening or the GBA titles in terms of storytelling.

@@POKENAR yeah. To me, it feels like a return to form to a normal Fire Emblem story (the Hero’s Journey for me), that’s the reason why I feel like Engage’s story wasn’t meant to be groundbreaker.

Okay so I just finished Engage last night and I have to say I had a wonderful time. Does the story have it's issues? Yes. Are the characters not as complex as Three Houses? Certainly. But I still think it's a solid game especially with the gameplay.

I personally believe that the story, while cheesy in a lot of places, is a good kind of cheesy; the kind that makes you feel warm and fuzzy like your partaking in a comfort food. It's an anime style story that is pretty predictable but it doesn't seem to hide it. It just wants you to have a good time and enjoy yourself, and for me who has been going through a rough time, the positivity this game brings is what I needed.
The characters have their own charm that, while again not as complex as Three Houses, still are likeable in their own right and are as colorful as one of Rosado's paintings. *CoughAlfredBestBoyCough* (Please don't hurt me on that, I just really love Alfred QAQ) The supports are so nice to watch, and some can even get really emotional, I was tearing up at some points.
And in my probably controversial opinion, Alear is a pretty solid protagonist. Sure they are a bit lighthearted and probably too sunshiny for some people, but they get serious when the time calls for it. When they had to face their corrupted mother for example, they knew what had to be done. They didn't go on a tangent saying "I can't do this, I can't fight her." They stood their ground and fought even if it hurt deeply. Alear honestly has realistic reactions; they get angry, sad, upset, and frustrated and they make mistakes. They aren't perfect and I think that's why I didn't get upset with them. Because they acted a lot like a person would, like, well I would. Honestly they are a ray of sunshine and I love them
Thanks for this. I gave up on playing the game so it's nice to be able to speedwatch the story beats.

My only question right now is what was that first scene where they are fighting Sombron? But that is not how the final battle played out. Is thay just a premonition dream or that's from another parallel world?
It's kind of like an anime opening in a way, meaning it's just a cool badass cutscene trailer that doesn't actually have story impact.
@@Azzzzzzzz Ohhhh that makes a lot of sense then. Cause in that opening cutscene Alfred was fighting with Lucina, meaning he was bestowed with her ring sometime in the story but it never happened.

my thoughts for the future of this game.
I think for wave 2-4 of the DLC for Fire emblem engage, we should get, maybe like a revive story. So basically, after the final boss, our story is over, and we just continue playing in the past. What if in the Wave 4 of DLC, Veyle would have to find a way to revive everyone (because in the future, everyone died because everyone was old). So she revives everyone and happy end.
BUT
The next game, will be called Fire Emblem. Yes, just Fire emblem.
What I want to see in this game, is that they bring EVERYONE, EVERY CHARACTERS from the past game in one game. But the villain of this game will be Robin from fire emblem awakening. So basically there we see a cutscene, where he/she (I prefer she) goes wild and kills Chrom. What if after that she went killing other worlds, and she basically came to a world, where there are every character and now we need to defeat her 😅
But the first game was already called Fire Emblem? I think.

that's just rehashing the plot of Awakening slightly. Grima possesses Robin at the Dragon Altar which makes Robin go nuts and kill Chrom, sending Lucina on a revenge quest

This game's story is definitely a turn your brain off kind of story the gameplays pretty good but the story is just awful

I think its a bad story because there are quite a few holes in the story like the fact the desert kingdom knew the fell dragon was being resurrected and didnt warn anyone even though they were in an alliance with the rest of the world then the bit where Sombron kills you your sister could easily use the time stone thing to reverse time and move out of the way of the blast thus making sure you dont die for her theres also the fact that Zephias death was completely pointless because if she wanted you to beat Sombron why did she fight you to the death first and then give you the thing to travel back in time when she could have avoided that completely by just handing it to you at the start its also the fact that this story is very predictable within the first 30 minutes of the game its pretty obvious your father is Sombron and then theres the fact you beat essentially a god with the power of friendship which is the laziest way to beat a powerful enemy
@@slynthrax What you call holes in the story aren't really holes. Power of friendship and magic has always been a staple to defeat the big bad in these games. Engage actually justifies it though because the Emblem Rings basically work on that principle and Alear themselves ended up turning into the titular Fire Emblem of the game which arguably makes them one of the strongest MCs of the franchise by default.
Second, people aren't gonna use their brains when protecting someone important to them. Sombron was about to kill Veyle so Alear acted in haste to protect her. And even then, what exactly could Alear do? You act like Sombron can't just turn his head and move the blast in the direction of where Alear and Veyle dodge to or release another blast.
Third, regarding Zephia, do remember that context is key. Zephia is loyal to Sombron to some extent. She's not about to backstab her boss, especially not with what the type of torture he'd put her through if he ever caught wind of it anyway. With the fact that she's dying, she decides it's basically her best chance to get back at him however little. It's basically her being spiteful to Sombron.
For the Desert Kingdom though yeah they're definitely idiots.
There's a little thing called running you can do to avoid things being fired at you which would be pretty effective since Sombron is supposed to still be weakened since he needed to eat royal blood to just be able to move and considering Alear has that reverse time stone you would theoretically be able to reverse time an infinite amount of times till you get the best outcome but the devs of this game forgot they gave you that crystal early in the story also I've beaten about 3 fire emblem games (I stopped playing this game because the plot is very stupid) and those 3 didn't have the final boss lose because the power of the main characters bonds with their friends were strong another thing stupid about the plot is the reason Sombron is doing everything he does because his only friend which was his fire emblem left him so he was lonely and went on a genocidal rampage think his fire emblem would return and even dumber Sombron knows that fell dragons emblems cant speak and for some reason just assumes his emblem was a mute another thing thats melt your brain dumb when you think about it the 4 hound that joins you joined the hounds because he thought it was right then left them because he thought it was right but the thousands of innocent people he would have killed as a hound that apparently was also the right thing to do and he didnt even question it

Alear (M): hold on is he okay
Veyle: well he look very sad for doing all alone
Alear (M): wait hold on I got a idea follow me y'all maybe he could use two emblem rings the hero-king (Marth) and hero-queen (Caeda)
(All fire emblem engage characters saying why do you need that)
Alear (M): too give him as his charm and we all of us could follow him and lead them where they going so my way for sora
(All fire emblem engage characters saying yeah we could do that)
Sora: alright now let see to cook myself
(6 Hours later after sora done eating)
Sora: ahh that's so amazing and good to eat now let's go to sleep
(Minutes later sora sleep and then noctis calling on sora)
Sora: oh it's noctis hello
(Noctis on phone): hello sora where you been you haven't called for a days
Sora: oh sorry I just helping them to do their missions why
(Noctis on phone): it's because the gummi ship is about to be ready so don't miss out okay
Sora: okay bye and good night
(Noctis on phone): night
(They both ended called)
Sora: alright let get a shut eye (yawning and snoring)
(Next day)
(Sora waking up and cleaning camping)
Sora: right it's done
(Mysterious voice): hey you there
Sora: huh oh hi there
Knights: is your name sora
Sora: yes I am
Knights: alright here you go
(Knights give sora a two emblem rings)
Sora: oh thank you
Knights: you're welcome enjoy bye
Sora: see ya well let's do it and case we'll it work or not alright uh what was oh no wait I remember come alive emblem of hero-king and hero-queen
(Sora awake Marth and Caeda from the emblem rings and those two come alive)
Marth & Caeda (Both): whoa I'm awake we made it
Sora: (gasp) IT WORKED
Marth: Sora
Sora: Marth
(Happy song music)
Sora: no way now you real and come alive
Caeda: hi sora
Sora: hi Caeda
Alear (M): (Whispering) what the emblem ring it worked
(All fire emblem engage characters are whispering and saying the emblem ring has worked)
Sora: so Marth, Caeda what brings you two here
Marth: about that divine dragon has told us to go and come with you sora
Sora: really why
Marth: it's because you going out there to find kairi sora
Caeda: all alone on around the world
Sora: aww thank and thanks to him for that idea how about some walking and running well do some skills and exercising
Marth & Caeda (Both): great idea let's go and save your world sora
Sora: right let's go and wanna race 3, 2, 1, Go
(Sora, Marth, & Caeda are racing)
Veyle: that's our cue let's go
(hours later almost fell off the cliff of the ocean)
Sora: phew that was close
Caeda: hmm how do we get to the other side
Marth: yeah and I don't know
Sora: huh wait I remember
Marth & Caeda (Both): really oh wait we remember
Sora: it's time to fly wheee
Marth: weeeee
Caeda: whoa yaayyyy
(Days later after landing on firene)
Sora: wow fun right
Marth & Caeda (Both): it sure is
Sora: so about that why are you look like this like kinda ghost but blue of you Marth
Marth: oh yeah I was dead and Caeda too everybody does
Sora: wait that happen
Marth: yeah cause the ring to calling us to help them and other friends from another world and then that make us the fire emblem
Sora: wow the fire emblem
Marth: sure is sora
Sora: so it was after I left
Caeda: yes you're left sora
Sora: okay so let pass the firene, then brolia, elusia, and solm and bam there the portal on the other side behind solm just like I remember when there some war going on cause of sombron and bit of evil herself veyle
Marth: nice you're getting hang of it sora

Caeda: hold on there another ring
Sora: I don't know wait it's tiki hold on I got this sleep well and come alive emblem of the dragon
(Sora awaken tiki and come alive)
(Tiki waking up)

(Days later after pass firene and entering brolia then sun is set)
Sora: well look like we need to find someplace to camp
Tiki: oh good (yawning)

(Marth, Caeda, & Tiki raise their hand up)
Sora: alright let see there new recipes that y'all never tried

Sora: whoa tiki slow down don't eat too fast of you get hiccup
