3rd position is the preparation or transition for young legs to 5th , it can be very useful for dancers to feel the muscle activation, without wobbles , hula or bent knees , en dehors control, hip and knee strength is a life long dual for a dancer. the exercise, nearly all ; begin by hip rotation , many teachers and students incorrectly attempt to activate the feet , this is an unstable , inelegant , uncomfortable and potentially injurious movement sur le cou de pied derriere is described in french as ' hirondelle' a swallow tail , btw , the sound was fine , very nice feet, articulation through the foot , like a cat's paw, with light weight for another lesson, arm coordination simple and is a good foundation for future barre and centre work.
I find it always useful to come back to even the simplest steps and remind myself of all the little things I need to pay attention to. Thanks for sharing your expertise. I've got a request - you've talked about ways to overcome anatomical hindranced for closing proper fifth, when it's not the strength that's the issue. Could you perhaps do a video on what you see working for your students?
@Note Book This may be a difference in methodology - I am in a Vaganova based studio and 3rd is not taught at all, actually. The teachers prefer a completely crossed 5th, even if it is pretty opened.
Want to be able to see your feet more. Definitely agree about the paint. How about a very light ballet neutral pink? PS: Thanks for the EXPERT ballet technique guidance. I personally need help with combinations, connecting steps, turns, double frappes. I’m dyslexic so I get confused all the time. It sucks, but ballet helps. I also need to work on a paw mas ( sp?) (Arm and head coordination with feet) and the fancier Ron de jauns? I’m a mess! Thanks! Love u
Awesomeness
It’s pretty useful to me! Thank you so much for this 🙏🏾

@Note Book Oh, absolutely not training to be a professional. Even though I have more than a decade of training done, I'm still very much an amateur.

Lol ...third position looks like a mermaid. Like, flipper-tail.
