Love my ugly collection. Our inner child/critic/old programming needs it. Being messy and “ugly” is part of the process. Thank you for this reminder. ❤
This is the most valuable lesson I think you could offer to ANY creative person, especially a trepidatious beginner, or someone who has found themselves in a rut, or anyone who is requiring a boost of inspiration. This lesson could literally be applied to so many facets of your life. Don’t be afraid of the outcome being imperfect or not as you had imagined. Taking *some* first steps, no matter how “ugly,” are the building blocks of future confidence. Holding the notion that experimentation, and a willingness to TRY, are both such crucial steps in any venture in this life. Just go for it and see what happens! Thank you for sharing this wholesome and important lesson. 💓
Omg I followed you a while back and I missed seeing your posts on my feed. Yt stopped showing me and I could not find you !! I’m so glad I got this notification. I just made myself get alll the notifications
I really loved this challenge. I work with an art therapist and it really helps letting go of my perfectionism and comparing myself to family members who went through art school. I've been learning my art is enough to have for my enjoyment and stress release even if it's "ugly" or "unrealistic." It's about letting my creativity out. It's a hobby that does not have to be monetized or shared. Thank you for sharing these challenges!
Gosh I love this series so much! It's so inspiring! I find your trees beautiful, even if they're "ugly." the color choices and your brushwork are gorgeous.
My first reaction when you said to draw the ugliest tree was, "Well, that's easy. All my drawings are ugly." But when you told to draw a beautiful tree, I started getting nervous because, for that, I needed to find some references and spend time on research. Ugh.
I don't get why ugly is the opposite of beautiful here. I'm not even sure what beautiful or ugly means in the context of drawing. I think I tended towards abstract vs literal or loose vs tight. IDK why but "better" or "best" or "beautiful" just don't matter to me.
that's amazing that you don't really see a difference between better/best/beautiful or even ugly! This is something that a lot of us need to practice to get to, so kudos to you for being there already!
hi, i just wanted to let u know that your videos don't show up on my "notifications". i have subscribed, bell icon and all. (i am using a cr4cked yt, but everyone else shows). maybe i am shadow banned, but just wanted to make sure that u know u don't reach ur all of your audience, in case u can tweak something on ur side
oh that is really odd!! I'm not sure what I can do on my side, but I do hope that's not the case for ALL my videos going forward. maybe there's somewhere where I can write to TH-cam?? I"ll have to look that up.
Why is this better than therapy?
haha I think it can be a great ADDITION to therapy but therapy has its own uses and values. In any case I appreciate the compliment :D
I’m enjoying the ugly art “challenge” from earlier and I look forward to my tree journey
Aw amazing! I can’t wait to hear how it went for you 😁😁

It was very soothing to watch you draw and to listen to your voice. I want to take a nap now and dream about purple and pink trees.😊
awww that sounds really nice. :) I hope that after you nap, you also take some paper and pencils and join in the fun!! :D

Gosh I love this series so much! It's so inspiring! I find your trees beautiful, even if they're "ugly." the color choices and your brushwork are gorgeous.
Wonderful challenge and message!
thanks :)
My reaction when you told me to draw the ugliest tree I can was: How dare you thinking I can draw something ugly😂😂
hahah that's amazing 😅
lOVE ALL YOUR tREES.tHANK YOU
aw thank you!

haha YES it's interesting isn't it how the 'premise' changes our approach and feelings right??
