this is actually a sketchbook that was gifted to me at a Top Teacher Skillshare meetup, so I think it's a collaboration between Skillshare and Papier. Otherwise I really love Pith Sketchbooks for mixed media, as well as Odd Orange sketchbooks. Etchr I love the paper but feel like the cover feels 'cheap'. but the paper is great! Otherwise, if I'm looking for a sketchbook that is super rough/sketchy, for reasearch/graphite work, then I loooove Lana sketchbooks by Hahnemühle, theyr'e a dream for pencils and colored pencils (but very thin paper, which is why it's best for rough sketches). HOpe that helps!
Yes! Awesome! Thank you lots for the thorough feedback. ❤ been surfing around youtube trying to find the perfect paper for not just 1 art supply. I love all the art materials😂❤
You are honest and I love that. Art ain’t always picture perfect but it’s all expression and useful. You communicate honesty and integrity rather than staged falsehoods. Thanks .
Thank you so much for posting this. I had one hour this morning to play so I just listened to your audio while I explored in my sketchbook. It freed me up from trying to imitate your color choices. It was so fun it reminded me of recess as a kid. Thanks again!
I like this channel you have here. I’m connected with your ideas because It reminds me of my beginner stuff. But, it is such a relevant aspect of painting, drawing, imagery… this as important as the most refined art in the world; as we know. 🧑🎨♾️👨🎓
Thank you so much for sharing this process. Landscapes are a new subject to me and I really enjoyed watching one emerge from all those loose marks. That purple tree is so fun. I agree realism is over rated. In a time of photography and smartphones why not capture the world as we see it. 😉💕✂️🐞
I found this very interesting and it inspired me to grab a bunch of my pens and markers to make shapes on a small piece of paper. In the end it was nothing like yours, but it was very liberating and I really enjoyed it.
Oh and it’s PERFECT that it was nothing like mine because it means you allowed YOUR creativity to shine through!! 😍 thanks for sharing that and I hope you keep letting yourself play. :)
oh I'm so glad that that part resonated with you - even if you find it hard to say to yourself. I promise that with very gentle practice, it will get easier and easier to integrate this into your own 'way of speaking to yourself'. Wishing you all the best!
Oh hi. Im a certified Montessori teacher with art and music on my Facebook page. I posted on your video a few days ago and i remember i made a really nice message about what i liked about it but it didnt post. Thats a typical social media experience for me.
I very rarely scribble as I was able to draw subjects and objects before I could talk . They became more precise as I grew during my 74 years. So my mark making is very limited. So perhaps develop a scribble and natprkmaking sketchbook. Thank you for your ideas.
The tools are the best technology of the day. I wouldn’t use the word judge because it personifies to much social constraint. We’re letting go, perhaps, like a shiny new realm.🧑🎨♾️🙂
yes good eye!! :) it's an alcohol marker, from the brand 'graphic'. I found it at my local art store and haven't experimented with that many different kinds of alcohol markers but I do like these. :)
Ugly drawing - the drawings we don’t normally share with others. Thank you for sharing this - I am in the process of trying to loosen up and relax into just making marks. Realism is over-rated. 🙏💜
yes, couldn't agree more! There is sooo much fun in loosening up and relaxing and just enjoying the process of smushing colors around on a page. :) I'm so glad that you're allowing yourself to do that too!!!
Art should be beautiful according to one school. Art should be ugly the other school of beautiful? I cannot think of another; kind? I think these two represent well; of what art is or, is not. Do we have to say, “ the mediocre school? No.🧑🎨♾️👨🎓
@mariiris I have trouble making out certain words and hearing audio on videos but since getting some ear buds it is much better. They are very affordable, comfortable and then there is the big padded headphones. Try them out.
@@susantische7655 I have, but when on my own, I prefer to listen without. And the audio here is clearly not as audible as other videos. Why do you think it's not acceptable pointing this out?
@@mariiris1403 In no way did I say it was "unacceptable" to mention the volume or sound with which she speaks. Merely offering suggestions to hear better.
What sketchbook are you using? Do you have a fav paper for colored pencils, watercolors, acryl gouache etc.. ? Im new here. :)

Not sure it’s possible to make ugly art with Caran D’Ache art supplies 😂
