It's been a while since my last Cuphead video, but with the Cuphead DLC finally getting a release date and the new Cuphead Show, I've been taken right back into the world of Cuphead lately! First (Why won't the devil just drink Cuphead and Mugman, it's a pretty good idea ngl.)Also glue is in Cuphead's head.

The devs have actually said that the liquid inside Cuphead and Mugman are their souls. Which makes it really weird when Mugman drinks from his own straw...
reminds me of a silly fan-video where they needed to fight the Pink Elephants from that scene in Dumbo...
and one of them poured liquor into his head!
So in the show when they fall and spill milk(?), they are spilling their soul?!
@@cocolocobirb981 Unless the show uses different rules, then yes.
Maybe not so weird? The mug that is Mugman's head holds his soul, and he has a mouth on one of the walls of the mug, so technically his soul liquid goes back to his head where it's supposed to be anyway.

Crazy how speedrunners do literally anything to shave off even a few seconds. It's really admirable

A few seconds. They do tricks to shave milliseconds off their times. But it is a lot of work. I watched a guy show all 5000+ runs he did of Mario 2. It’s insane to think someone played thousands of hour of a game only to beat it in 10 minutes

Have you ever looked into Army%? It's a super funny category using an exploit that allows you to have multiple Mugmen (Mugmans? Help). It's really fun to watch. I believe they've patched this out so anyone who wants to try it would need to downpatch to the "legacy" version, as seen in the video (sorry console players :c).
Edit: I'm hearing that it hasn't been patched out? So. If it hasn't then yay, Army% for the console players! If it has then sadge.

Y'know it makes sense as without the final segment of each boss sequence, you're not technically getting any of their contracts like you would normally in normal difficulty, as you literally have to beat them dead and pry those contracts from their cold hands.

@@Hello-sl3oz well in the sense that they lose their souls, their body is practically dead without it, and yeah they don't die die, just their body doesn't do anything without their soul, leaving it a disheveled shell of their former self, so it's a yes and no for them being dead, but a definitely not at all dead if you don't get their contracts at all, and only are until after you defeat the Devil himself if you did collect them all.
@@CarlytheWolf23 I personally think they are just really beat up since before they get their contracts back after the good ending they are all good and well and happy
@@CarlytheWolf23 You don't take their actual souls. Its a contract to get the rights to the soul. When you beat them you just take their contract and leave them be for the devil to claim their soul down the line.

you should try getting all s-ranks and p-ranks, it’s really fun
to s-rank, basically you fight all the bosses all over again, but on expert (but not get hit, finish under 2:10, use 6 cards and parry 3 times)
to p-rank, just beat the run n’ guns without shooting at a single enemy (tip: use smoke dash+super #2 for p-ranks)

I'm guessing somebody in the comments has already told you that you can fire bombs during Djimmi's "totem phase" which will go offscreen and damage Cuppet.
I thought it was required to beat every boss on regular to progress to the next isle, since simple doesn’t reward you with the soul contracts required to move on.

@@TetraBitGaming wait what? Ik this comment is 2 years old but what? I'm 99.99% sure that if you beat all isle bosses (say II1) on simple (which doesn't grant contracts) and go to the Die House, King Dice will tell you that he won't let you through to II2 until you've collected all the soul contracts. He also tells you the after the first time beating a boss on simple. Also also he tells you in his song The Die House, multiple times that he can't let you pass until you bring him the contracts.

Sorry to bother you about this I'm not trying to be rude. It's just that I'm confused bc I thought the whole point of simple mode was that it was just practice. The catch is that you can't play the whole game on simple and cheat it because you wouldn't be able to get past just the first isle without the contracts.

I remember when this game came out on switch, i was so excited that i could play it now. I played the game on simple, and my face dropped when king dice wouldnt let me in, because i needed to beat the game on regular lol. Im better at it nowadays. And yes, i beat the game.

I mean, the devs were aware that it was possible to beat the game in 23 minutes on regular mode, so 20 minutes on simple mode, although still impressive, is not that groundbreaking.

Technically you can’t beat the game on simple mode. You can beat all the bosses but you don’t get the soul. So you can’t get into fight king dice and the devil. I made that mistake myself.

I got cuphead recently and beat all the bosses (except the last two) on simple and didn’t know you have to beat all the bosses on normal to get the soul contracts and now I have to go back and do all the bosses again

At 2:49 I'm pretty sure he could have used the pink object to get extra height and jump over the acorn maker. (Unless you can't do this in old version)
Yeah, you can. You can also use the knockback from a damage to jump over it or you can clip through it with an EX, all this is doable even on current patch

Tip: during the gienies sarcophagus Stage fly at the the top of the screen next to him and you shouldn't take any damage

The drink in Cuphead and Mugman’s head is milk because in the series, The Cuphead Show, Cuphead and Mugman get a cookie, and dip it in each other’s heads.

I'd be curious to see how different the speedrun times/strats would be on Regular tbh.
Surely runs on that mode would end up changing significantly.
Takes about 3 minutes longer from what I've seen. Basically just slightly longer fights + King Dice and Devil
@@TetraBitGaming if on that specific version. I think even more fights in regular difficulty have ALOT of those out of bound hitboxes that you exploit to do insane damage and skip more phases. heck in the devil fight you dont even go to hell and just shoot at the side to damage him with no risk.
now I want to see the suffering of after-patch and regular mode
I’m pretty sure the spread shot even withought the whole weapon swap glitch does more damage per second then what the speed run uses considering the spread shot speed
I had a glitch when I first beat cuphead, when I first beat the devil the flag pole ( the one when you beat a boss) didn’t appear neither the sound too, i left the game to see my progress and it was the same as when I beat king dice, I had to beat the devil again, hope you don’t encounter that glitch, and hope it gets removed too

When i played this game i used 5hp and that green homing attack for cuphead
So my damage output was as minimum as possible

@@alexhiind Well, yeah. I want to play the creative parts of the game, not just the easy and boring parts. They got rid of the crying onion, and the living castle, and the 3 headed dragon. They even got rid of the good ending for crying out loud!

Fun fact: If you don't do the weapon swap glitch the bombs will actually take longer to kill the boss than just using normal bullets.
(BOMBS do more damage then the normal bullets, but their cooldown is long enough to make it so you will end up dealing more damage by using normal bullets.)
(In short: bomb only exists to shoot enemies below you. Specifically wally warbles and the robot dude, as none of the other bosses go below you.)
there are enemies that get one-hit by the bomb, so there's also that

If you do all bosses in cuphead in simple if your button is grey you can get the simple mode glitch for king dice and devil

Alcohol boosts your energy so it makes sense for mugman to take a big gulp of it before battle.

I’ve just realised that Grim Matchstick looks like the horse in the Beppi fight and Grim is a dragon. WHICH MEANS THAT BEPPI IS BIGGER THAN GRIM!
I thought if you beat a boss on simple in legacy the devil is like "You may have defeated the boss but you didnt get his full soul contract, Beat the boss on regular instead"

But how do you get from island to island if you’re doing the run on simple? If I’m remembering correctly, you need to beat the bosses on regular difficulty to get the soul contract.
The developers of the game actually revealed that the liquid in Cuphead's and Mugman's head is the essence of their soul.
