I just bought the Vapor 9.5s (based on your reviews!) I've been playing in the Vapor 11s, but have seriously worn down the rubber, especially the medial forefoot, and figured I should move on. The 11s instantly resolved what felt like turf toe (guessing ?sesamoiditis/tendinitis) from wearing random shoes to play in - but I have skis for feet and could never get them tight enough (even with two pairs of socks), and I felt like they slowed both my first step and straight line runs. I'm a bit worried about losing the forefoot Zoom Air, but looking forward to being better locked in and more nimble. (And maybe less like an elephant? 😬 Funny your description of high-arched folks, I get made fun of for how loud my steps can be.)

i use the PG6 and the NewBalance WXY V3 for pickleball all the time specifically outdoor surfaces not hardwood......i noticed the PG wear much more on the outdoor courts than the NB but they both are very comfortable and supportive....If the V4 were better color combos, I would think of them, but I really like the look of the V3 and the tread durabilty....all my shoes came because of Zach's recommendations and I have not been let down...PS, I also have the Babalot but haven't worn them very much since I got ahold of the PG's and the V3's

@FootDoctorZach Any thoughts on using a quality skateboard shoe for pickleball? I can't find any comments or advice online about this. I recently tried on ( and bought) the Adidas Tyshawn Jones Low Skateboard Shoes and plan to wear my PowerStep inserts with them. The fit and support feel very good especially when making quick side to side motions. The tread also seems similar to other court shoes I see as well so it should prove very grippy. It just got me thinking they might make a decent or good Pickleball shoe....especially since skate shoes tend to have higher quality b/c they take such a beating. Thanks

Having only really been into basketball for 30+ years, I figured a low “court feel” basketball shoe would be good for pickleball, which I just recently started playing.
Tried the Curry 10 for basketball. Didn’t like it because it doesn’t have enough cushion. But it sure does make a great pickleball shoe. Only downside is the Flow outsole will not be lasting very long on outdoor courts.

    Great video as always.
Quick question on the Adidas Barricade.
I wonder if the shoe is appropriate if you are on the high arche side. I compete in pickleball tournaments and recently I tore my peroneus longus tendon. Yes nothing I cant do on this. I have to go to PT to strengthen muscles. No surgery. The Brevis tendon is fine.
I have been playing with the Adidas court boost and previously with the NIKE Nike Air Zoom Vapor Pro. I prefer low to the ground shoes.
I can insert wedges in the shoes to help as I have the tendency to pronate a bit but I am looking for a shoe to help my foot not turn while friendly to my Achilles.
    Thanks in advance

I bought the New Balance 2WYV4 they shipped on Nov 3ed of 2023 and Its Dec 31 of 2023 and the tread is already smooth on both shoes but the smooth patch is larger on my right foot. I play pickleball on an outdoor court at local park in Austin as well as a painted court at the gym that is about as textured as the outdoor tennis courts at the local parks around town. The Shoe is well built and does feel good but the tread is seriously lacking the durability I was hoping for. Pretty disappointed. If I were able to upload pictures I would do so. I'm going to review them on the New Balance site. Maybe I will be able to upload pictures there.

Zack, I have tried countless pickleball/tennis shoes. After about 10 times court usage knees ache and the start of shin splints. When I wear my Hoka bondi 8 all gone and never have a problem. Of course the bottoms chop up quickly. After tons more research I’m now trying the NB 996v5- . Thought I’d got it right but starting have those problems again so rotating my hokas in. Wondering if it’s the tow to heel drop or the actually cushioning. Not sure what to do. MB
