These are the top 5 tennis shoes for the start of 2024- this was a tough list to put together as there are models that are a few years old that STILL are the flagships of their line and are STILL holding very strong

I followed your advice and being tall and heavy i grabbed a pair of mizunos and man i am glad i did. Super comfortable and best good looking shoe out there! Greetings from Greece
Great video info on your pick for top 5 shoes. Will consider these when I need a new pair!
I have been playing for the past few months in the Mizuno’s and they are a fantastic shoe. So comfortable, sturdy and stable and the heel lock is unreal. As an adidas solecourt boost fan these are even better.
Glad they're working well for you
I agree. These are probably my favorite shoe of all time now.
Same here, Mizuno’s are the best shoes I’ve played (padel) on for years.
I got an extra pair in the sales on Black Friday. Just in case
Hella comprehensive review/evaluation 👍
I couldn’t agree more with your nr1 choice! I have those mizunos and I they feel like no other pair of shoes!
I've been using the Mizuno Wave Enforce Tours per your recommendation for a few months as well. I absolutely love the shoe, really glad I listened to you on that one :)
Glad they’re working well for you
Thank you for another great review. You are the man. I check and double check every show I ever buy with your reviews haha. I ended up getting the Jet Mach 3 based on your previous recommendations but I mostly use it for singles pickleball. I was torn between the mizuno and those and I went with the babolat because most pro players use them for pickleball.
Keep em coming. We appreciate you
Glad you're still liking the Jet Mach's - such good shoes
I'm a tennis coach, and I'm on court almost 8H every day, sometimes playing 2-3 hours per day.
I have used almost all the most famous models from Asics, Adidas and Nike, and for me (I have a slightly wide foot), the most comfortable and durable ones have been the Nike Court React Vapor NXT (can't find them anywhere now) and the Lacoste AG LT Ultra 23.
The Lacoste are incredibly comfortable and durable.
Do the Lacostes have good durability? I got some but im considering returning them because people have been saying they wear out easily. Thanks
@@pleemd well, i really like these shoes and they're super comfortable.
But I had 2 pairs already, and I got another one last month (AG Ultra) , and this last one the durability and quality of the shoe in general has been very low for a brand like Lacoste...
If you have normal to wide foot i will recommend you Adidas Ubersonic, one of the best i tried, for me that I love Nike as a brand, the shoes has been super narrow lately, so Adidas, Asics and Lacoste
@@DUKART Ok, thank you so much for the answer and the recommendations as well
@@DUKARTare the nxts good match day shoes?
@@hamburgerhelpertastesbad best shoes i ever had, but they dont sell them anymore, cant find them anywhyere. If you're from US maybe on eBay
Having chronic knee and foot issues over the years of wear and tear on the court, the Mizuno Wave Enforce Tour is a life saver. I’ve been using it for over 8 months. I can still play hard with minimal or no pain on my body. Thanks Doctor Zach for the recommendation. Best tennis shoe I’ve ever used hands down. Just need to stock up multiple pairs. I have wide feet and it has enough room with a secured lock down. You just have to try it and be amazed how good it is. Excels on every aspect. Hopefully in the future it would come with more color ways.
Got the exact opposite feeling, was constantly sore after wearing, felt stiff?, curious to why this was the case for me
Always good work Zach. Sharing widely
I appreciate you
I purchased the Mizuno about 6 months ago because of your review. I do love them. There was virtually no break in period and less blisters than I used to get. Only issue I have is I have worn a hole in the front toe area which I have never noticed on other shoes I have had. But they are great shoes
Your foot shape probably just mismatches a tad there- there are ways to pad around that too which can prevent that
Hey! Nice content as always. After seeing your review of the resolution 9 I decided to get a pair, and I love them. Planning to buy a pair for clay as well! Do you know if they will release any new colors soon? :-)
I have to go with the Lacoste. I´m a professional tennis coach, had surgery on my right foot because of a peroneal tendon tear and have been suffering pain constantly until I started wearing the Lacoste. No more need for special insoles, no more taping my foot...I found my shoes! they are absolutely perfect to me.
Great video as always! Question , have you tried out the Z-Liner Labs insoles? Curious to hear your input. Also, does the Babolat Jet Mach 3 still hold up to newer releases for you?
Never tried them- yeah Jet Mach 3 is still great
I have the lacoste for clay, already bought another pair to stock up, great shoe, light and responsive. For hardcourt where I need more protection I play with the lotto raptor, might try those Mizuno next. Thanks for the list!
Hey Zach, have taken several of your suggestions, Thanks! on the Pulse inserts, are you recommending replacing the factory inserts or on top of them? Trying to relieve ball foot pain that I get after a few hours of play. Thanks
Thanks to your mizuno wave enforce review video, I already buy it and it's really comfortable ❤
You're reviews are the best! Picked up some Gel Res 9's. Do you know when manufacturers put out their new lines/colorways? I really want to try the Mizuno's but very tough to find any anything but the white ones. Thanks!
No idea on releases and colorways unfortunately
I bought 4 shoes in my Orlando trip. Here my opinion about use in parks (Disney/universal): 1) Mizuno wave is excellent. No pain after 7 miles in a day. Second is the court ff 3. The worst was the Lacoste lt23 ultra: new pain in arch.
Lacoste AG LT 23, definitely the best tennis shoes i ve ever bought. Incredibly confortable and amazing stability, very reactiv. Perfect for my feet
Do they have good durability? I got some but im considering returning them because people have been saying they wear out easily. Thanks
The durability is ok, it depends of your game and if you spoil a lot your shoes. I would say asics a bit better about durability but i prefer more lacoste for all the rest
@@Karim-bd9vb Got it, thank you
Can you review the Judah 1? Looks amazing...I'm really curious about the playability
Hey Zach! Can you give recommendations for good basketball shoes for pinky toe bunions? I love the hardens, but they are kinda painful after a couple hours
I have been really impressed with the Diadora Speed Blushfield Fly 4 Plus. I had chronic plantar fasciitis issues until I started using this shoe. The added cushion around the ankle makes all other shoes seem uncomfortable. The only negative for me is the breathability because of all the cushioning. But it is an easy trade off, since I am pain free.
Yeah they have some of the best aspects of the Torneo in a slipper tongue
Good to know. Thank you!
Hey Doctor Zach, if I usually wear a 10.5 in all my shoes (11 in Nike cause they’re usually narrow), what size should I get for the AR1? All they got is a 10 or 11
what would you recommend the most for someone switching from the nike gp turbo? just started playing for one season last year so i dont have a super clear playstyle yet or anything i just really liked how soft and comfortable they were but it seems now theyre discontinued and i dont wanna pay like $300 on a reselling website for some tennis sneakers. thanks so much!
The Izumi is a great shoe for tennis, hanging out, driving to Ace Hardware, welding steel, cooking meals and ping pong too. But they might be too grippy for ballet. 🙂
Looking for the lightest, best shoe. 70, not so great knees, and came back to tennis 3 years ago. Some tennis shoes feel so heavy and clunky compared to running shoes. Advice for the lightest please? Thanks!
I would like to see you speak on minimalist shoes. I have started wearing them and my legs have changes in strength and shape. Why don't major brands offer this form factor?
As always - the best :) i might try Lacoste. How is the comfort compared to GP Turbo?
Just much different of an experience
I'm a GP Turbo fan too but definitely try the Mizuno Wave Enforce Tour, it's worth your time. Love the Lotto as well but the Mizuno is lighter and also feels a fraction more robust. New GP Turbo replacement due soon.
Hey Zach, I'm looking for something similar to the vapor pro (1s). Where it is a light low heel drop shoe. do you have any recommendations?
ur obsessed with the blue shield. need to try it now lol
Hi. Sorry if this question seems a bit of but I must ask. The ASICS Court FF3 do not even deserve a honourable mention?
Hey Zach, I know you mentioned that the gel res 9 clay version is the best 2023 clay shoe out there from what you tested, but I do see that for the hard court version, you keep putting the lotto raptors over them. Do you think that the clay version of the raptor would also be better than the gel res 9 clay ? I would have the opportunity to get the clay version of the raptors but I'm hesitating a bit because of the gel res 9 and I'm really torn on which to get
I cant get a clay version of the Raptors to test out so I have no clue- my guess is they're great but I can say for sure without putting them on foot
Looking to replace my Gel Res 8's. I wouldn't mind something that feels a tad more minimalist. Would you say the Mizuno Wave Enforce fit the bill? I was set on the KSwiss Speedtracs until I saw your reviews.
Yeah id say
The Lacoste 23s are definitely a top shoe the durability might be an issue, but a fantastic shoe. The mizunos are a little too floppy for me and I lost confidence with them when I rolled my foot landing on a serve. Shelved them to prevent a lisfranc injury. Happy to see the FF3s not on the list since I believe they took a step back from the 2s.
Yeah the FF3 was just a bit more clunky and bendy vs the FF2 which I thought had a perfect feel
@@FootDoctorZach FF2 top tier shoe. I bought 2 new old stock from Canada to have on hand 😅
I use the adidas ubersonic 4. Would you say that is a good tennis shoe?
Absolutely. Trying to narrow this category down: impossible. Breathable is key. At least for this guy. Foot spray reviews?☝️😉🤔
Agreed! My two boy's love Mizuno!!!
Are the Mizuno good for wide feet? And what size would u recommend if I’ve only wore Nike tennis shoes before, Nike Vapour Pro 11’s … I’m 8.5 in them
What do you think about the Way of Wade all city 11 for tennis? I want to get it because it has more cushion than tennis shoes but worried about durability of sole
Hey Doc,
I picked up the CG 1's but noticed after playing I was getting some chafing/blistering on both sides of the ankle area, mainly the inside ankle. Was wondering if anyone else experienced this or if you have any tips to remedy this.
Cheers
Can you please try the performance on the curry 4 retro's? no one is doing doing performance review on em and i wanna know how they are
coach is the shoe size or mizuno different with adidas? im usually adidas barricade size 42 , how about Mizuno ? japan size 26,5? thanks
@footdoctorzach ....what about tennis/basketball shoes for wide footers? I'm a 4e and I wanted to do the twowxy v4's but I tried the standard and they were too tight....I'm wondering if theres any way the 2e will be roomier
I have been using nike zoom freak 5 for basketball and tennis outdoor, its been fantastic, the outsole does lastlong too!
Love my Mizunos-best shoes I've had. On my third pair already. (For reference, I have wide feet most of the way through and almost nothing works for me.)
Did you go half size up or went for true size? Thanks
Hi Doc.. how about for Badminton? can you create top 5 also thanks. :)
Need your review of grip socks e.g supersox. Does it enhance your game ?
I dunno about enhance but you may like the sticky feeling with the shoe especially if you're between sizes
Great review Dr Zach, always given us great quality content!! 💪🏿🧠💯
Cannot wait for the review of the Li-Ning Bad Five 3.0 Ultra those are bad boys !!! 🏆🏆🏆
Can you tell me what the discount code s for the Mizuno, Lacoste, and Barricade?
I really have to say, Lacoste ag lt 23 ultra has been so good with my play style! Love the traction it gives and the comfort when reaching far off balls is actually pretty good. Really happy with it and purchasing more as soon as the sales come in!
Nice!
Got 2 pairs. Co-sign.
Do they have good durability? I got some but im considering returning them because people have been saying they wear out easily. Thanks
@@pleemd hi! I've been playing 2 hours daily since June 2023. I am an extreme toe dragger and quite a rough user of any shoes. They won't hold up as much as the Asics would. But still are way better than the previous gen barricades and Vapor Pros. As of now the rubber is thinning out, but the uppers are nice and tight, no tears or cuts so far
Hi, Thank you so much for the suggestion and feedback. I will take this into consideration@@dhruvamdesai6761
I truly love the Lacoste shoe - its feel and appearance are amazing. However, it's a bit tight near my big toe. Do you think it might improve after a break-in period, or should I consider looking for an alternative? Unfortunately, the next size is too big.
Mine broke in but just depends how tight
@@FootDoctorZach is lacoste shoes good for slightly wide feet
these are all fairly heavy shoes. can you do best shoes 14 oz or under ?
A quality pair of tennis kicks last me 6 months max but I do play a lot
Which one of these shoes ia most similar to Lotto Hyperpujse 100? (Or Raptor) TW is not selling Lotto for now.
I have flat feet and Lotto is the shoe I usually use. Not many fit my feet.
Which platform of tennis shoes would you recommend for boys
Do the Lacoste AG-LT 23 fit true to size? Hearing a lot of people going up half a size due to a narrow toe box. I have pretty normal width feet so not sure if I should go TTS or up a half.
go up a half
Amazing videos. Many thanks they have helped me tremendously in my purchases. Have you considered doing a court shoe comparison? It would typically be relevant for badminton, squash and fencing, but many of these shoes are also used for volleyball, handball, indoor tennis.
Top contestants would be:
Yonex Aerus Z - my personal favourite, the top badminton shoe
Yonex 65 series - podium shoe, top choice of top ranked players
Asics Gel Blade 7 - former podium shoe, better than the Yonex 65 but not in production anymore
Asics Fastball 3 - another personal favourite, but not in production anymore
Asics Blast FF2 / FF3 - new and very popular with world class fencers and squash players these days
Nike Ballestra 2 - most popular with Olympic fencers
Nike Air Zoom - very popular with Olympic fencers
PBT Fencera - another popular choice of fencers
I’ve thought about it but would have to really invest heavily in it and currently I’m already at max capacity doing hoops tennis and running - even now running shoe reviews are sparse and before I move on to others i need to fill that catalog out
Zach, I just began playing pickleball and get knee pain. Which would be the best shoes out of these 5 to combat knee pain?
I'm on vacation in the USA/Disneyworld (I'm from Brazil) and I took advantage of your list to go shopping! I had already bought the Coco Cg1 in Brazil for $120 (cheaper than here in the USA), but I didn't like the sneakers. I bought the Mizuno Enforce here (Orlando), today the Lacoste Lt23 ($95) and in a promotion a Nike vapor pro 2 PRM ($55). My 2024 tennis season in Brazil is guaranteed (😅).
That’s a productive trip!
@@FootDoctorZach and a add today a asics court ff3. Me wife think that I am addiction. Maybe I will need intervention:)
Diadora Torneo, how are they different from the Fly? Which I love btw. So comfortable, durable and stable.
NVM, I saw your other review, booty is great for a guy like me who's built like a fireplug.
Not sure if you have any updates yet but the Barricade 13 just got release with almost no visual difference from the new Barricade 2023. Also any review for the NB 1007?
They put a different foam in it but it doesn’t look like it’s much of a difference at all
Any of these good for wide feet? If not, which new tennis shoes would u recommend for wide feet? Thanks

what's the best for wide feet? can't seem to find the right one.
My favorite is the Lotto Mirage 100. My feet just seem to feel the coziest in those shoes.
I have a narrow, flat foot and wear a Mens size B. NB has only one men's tennis shoe with this size unfortunately. Interestingly, I bought a NB women's size 12 B tennis shoes which closely matches a Men's 10.5 B. Comfort and stability are more important to me that speed. Are there other brands that make size B women's 12 I should try on since mens narrow shoes are rare?
Thanks!
Thank YOU!
You deserve way more. Trying to get millions up for ya.
Btw have you checked out the BetterGuards Technology Inc ankle braces yet?
So Zach, is the new Adidas Barricade 13 the same as the revamped Barricade 2013 selected here? Seems to have a new midsole at the very least. How does the new version differ in your opinion? Seems like they just dialed this shoe in six months ago and now they changed it again!
Haven’t tried them yet but dosent look like much difference
@@FootDoctorZach No more BOUNCE midsole. It has been replaced by something they call a Dual Density Repetitor midsole cushioning system. According to Adidas, "Soft and comfortable REPITITOR foam combines with REPITITOR+ - a firm, second density foam, made of 15% recycled materials - to strike soft whilst still cradling and stabilizing the heel with every stride."
Mizuno has great cushioning and stability. but it felt bit Slow and sluggish on movement and didn't feel fast at all
Different strokes for different folks
Looking for one that gives me forefoot rigidity for post hallux rigidus surgery. Any of these? I checked your shoes of the year video but did not find a forefoot pain category, just a ball of foot pain, which I think is different
Ball of foot pain category has my favorites - also depends if its a clean up, graft, or fusion - orthotics usually are tailored to the procedure
Dear Doctor Zach, could you tell me which shoes will be the most comfortable? On your advice I bought Lotto Raptor, but they are too stiff for me for hard court. My old one Adidas Unersonic 4 was better, but they are not dedicated for ankle sprainers. Please give top 3 the most comfortable shoes for flat feet and ankle sprainers.

@@FootDoctorZach I can't see comfort category. In which minute?
If you’re a high performance tournament player, go with ASICS. There’s a reason why it’s one of the most worn shoes at the tour level. Mizuno is more comfy and softer shoes but I don’t recommend it for young high performance players that are able to slide.
I’ve been battling some heel/achilles pain are there any recommendations of shoes that might help alleviate this?

Can you review the giannis immortality 3?
Zack, I’m on the foot shaped shoes wagon. Like Vivos. Which are the most wide toe box shoes right now? Like the most round least pointy tennis shoes
Anything 2E or 4E NB
@@FootDoctorZachbig difference between wide toe box and wide shoes like 2E 4E… many people looking for normal width in heel / mid foot with larger toe box .
Lacoste looks rly great!
Diadora Torneo is just the best. I use it when coaching and it’s highly comfortable when you’re just feeding balls or actively hitting. I couldn’t be more surprised to see Lacoste in 2nd place. Their debut last year was arguably the worst and most overpriced shoe in tennis last year.
As always, great work and love the channel.
I appreciate you
I bought the New Balance CG1 two weeks ago, and I didn't like it. I have a small problem with my Achilles tendon, which starts to bother me after 1 hour of playing tennis with FF court 2 or NB 996 v4 shoes. But with the Coco CG1 my tendon starts to complain after 15 minutes of starting! Terrible! I play on clay, and I felt much slower with this CG1, and I consider myself a fast and explosive player. I will be switching to the Mizuno Enforce and hope I have luck! I will leave CG1 to play doubles or for training with a ball machine.
The Mizuno is a much different feel so it should give you a nice comparison
Any of these shoes better for us flat foot minimalist using Babolat Jet Mach 3s?
If you like the Jet machs maybe the Lacoste but you won’t get the cushy feel like the babolat
What’s an alternative for the Nike Vapor pro that got discontinued
solution speed
Does Lacoste make a clay court shoe? I love them but they are too slippery on CA clay. I found some in Europe…but not shipping.
No idea - my guess is only in certain markets
TW is no longer carrying Lottos. I absolutely love the hyperpulse but I'm worried if they will still be available.
Yeah it’s weird how hard it is to get Lotto models in the states
They are on sale now at Dick's, probably a new version coming out soon that will be more durable ...
What the difference between the wave enforce and the wave enforce AC version? I can only find the AC version in womens
AC is all court - that’s the regular one then there’s the clay
Where does the New Balance CT Rally fit in? Seems like a good, stable shoe, but I haven’t tried it.
Its decent - certain players are going to like it more than others- did a deep dive on them that you can check out
Thank you!
I'm suprised the gel res 9s made it on here ahead of the ff3s.
what do you think about Head shoes?
I’ve done plenty of reviews on them if you search for a specific shoe it should come up
Hi Zach can you review Giannis IMMORTALITY 3.
Yes
I was wondering why hasn’t the court ff3 been on these lists, I saw they were rated quite highly from you
The Lacoste is just way more stylish
I just rock the Lacoste in court today. Super happy with it. Light and stable
Heads up, they run small so size up half a size at least
Do they have good durability? I got some but im considering returning them because people have been saying they wear out easily. Thanks@@Famouss
I was playing in the ASICS Djockvics for about a year-thought and still think they’re a great shoe. However, I just bought the Lacoste shoe and it’s better! I play pickleball. I purchased a second pair of the Lacoste’s.
Thanks for the great list!
I noticed that I tend not to like Mizuno because how they look although I really like how it feels. But just can’t help with thinking they look clownish. Another problem with It, here in Europe it’s hard to get hands on non clay version. Lotto Raptor is available much wider here.
Today I tried Lacoste, they look a bit too massive on feet.
Can you please explain what the term "Snakebite" means? Thanks
Pain or injured
Adidas ubersonic 4.1, works best for me
On my 4th pair of the Lotto's!
Hey zach can u test the Adidas bouce legends please? 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Couldn't stand the CG1, rubbed my ankle in every weird which way. Shame. Loved the look.
Hey Zach,
Love the videos, I wanted your opinion on the shoe most similar to the Nike Vapor Pro 1, every other shoe I have tried doesn’t perform anywhere similar in the Nike line.
Most similar to me is the solution speed
Hi Zach! What would say is the most comparable shoe to the Nike Court Air Zoom Vapor AJ3? They are the best tennis shoes for me that I have used and they no longer have my size available at nike. Thanks for your help!
Best recommendation for overweight people? Need more cushion and support than speed.

How come novak shoes isn't here?
Because I didn't like them as much as the other ones in this video
