First heard of Gale in the 80's and it was the story of the turbo Trans Am that would smoke the tires @70mph in one of the car mags. Gale never fails to amaze.
Talking about a 6.2 Diesel Turbo Kit, My best friend had a 85 GMC Jimmy 4 wheel drive with the 6.2. We pulled a 25’ Shamrock Center Console Boat all over N. Florida. He went to Orlando and had the kit put on. It was a totally different truck especially pulling that boat. Like going from a 350 gas motor to a 454. It was awesome to say the least!
Loving this series Gale i hope theres plenty more to come 👍👍 Ps. Im hoping for an episode on the turbo fuel dragster, And all the Wally Parks stories! Hahah
Reading about the horsepower in the ‘blue’ car, takes me to a book that I am reading about WW2 fighter engine development: The Secret Horsepower Race by Calum E. Douglas, published 2022. Impressive engineering package for the 1980s.

Allways interesting how guys at the top of their game have the spare capacity to enquire how everyone else is doing.

I wish I could get a Banks Charge cooler, for my old H1. This was fun to listen to.
Given Gale’s response to the V8 Duramax versus Cummins I6 question, I suspect we have a clue to why Scania does so well with its V8 truck engines.
Thanks again Gale awesome show . I sent you question on my twin turbo Raptor
Thank you for listening.
AWESOME AWESOME stories!
What are your thoughts about “Vtec” or variable valve trains
Solid gold👍
Did he talk about the side Winder alternate trucks
He needs to start playing with gas turbines and stuff one into a car like the Plymouth turbine car.
