      Good luck, I just posted a new one last night that talks about how easy it is. I was in the same boat as him from past pool experience. With this I keep it up every year without being asked.

    Hey brother, props on the pool. Wrapping up the deck for our stock tank pool as we speak. I just wanted to jump in here and tell ya that your diagonal strap for you gate should go the other direction. You want the brace to run from the bottom hinge up to the latch side of the gate. Wood, when properly constrained, is generally stronger in compression than it is in tension. Running the strap the other direction will place most loads on your strap in compression rather than tension.

    I was wondering how to clean a stock tank pool and you have a really good video on that which is how I found you, but I wasn’t quite sure on this option of using a galvanized tank. Absolutely no doubt now! you have given me the the confidence
    to do this

      Two more questions I would like to ask if it's okay... Do you have a rough estimate on what it costs you for the pool and for the decking and the fence just so I have some idea.. and did you seal the tank before you filled it and if so what did you use.. sorry I'm really picking your brain lol Have a blessed day 😁

    • @maxspeedadventures
      @maxspeedadventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rondawead3543 No reason to be sorry, I love helping. As I’ve said many times, I would not know how to do things if someone had not helped me previously. I think the concrete was about $1100, tank $500, deck $1500(but I already had a lot of items like screws and small boards), fence I think I spent close to $500 when I was done. I did not seal it with anything. I would try to avoid that, I feel it would flake off and become a mess. My experience with galvanizing is it’s pretty durable and made to take the elements.

      Great question, I’ve not been asked that yet. I don’t have a thermometer, water temperature is not an issue for me. I would say in the hottest days of July it is around 85 Fahrenheit which feels good when it’s 100 air temperature.

    You have a list of what you used to build your lithe deck especially the stairs ? I need one build for my 12x30 intex pool . Maybe a list of what I can use for my size pool please. ? Ty Ty ❤️

    • @maxspeedadventures
      @maxspeedadventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, they are very simple. I use all treated lumber. The base is a 2x6, I then lay the deck boards on top giving me a step that is 6.25” tall. I then just keep stacking them until I have the height I need. This method can be wasteful but I save the steps for last in order to use my short pieces of scraps.

    Love your pool. I'm just guessing, but I'm thinking your wife is the one with the green thumb? Those petunia baskets and all the other plants are incredible! I grow petunias every summer (Southern Ohio) and water/dead-head them all the time and they never get near as lush as yours! I'm a new subscriber, so just scrolling through your videos and maybe you talk about the gardening somewhere. If not, might be cool if you did...even though it seems your channel is more about building and fixing things. Anyway, hey there from Cincinnati! Thanks for sharing your projects.

      P.S. Been surfing...Cool to see some exploration videos too. I'll check em out. I'm watching you resurface old concrete w/Portland right now. I've never seen mortar spread out dry before, but it turned out really nice! I am definitely doing that at my home. My front porch is pitted from years of salting. Thanks.

    I’m wanting to do this under my second sorry deck that currently has a gravel base and a slight 2-3” slope from house for drainage. Any suggestions or “wish you would have done’s” from your project? Also, what is the biggest Con you would say of one of these pools? Rust is a concern of mine over longevity especially with using chemicals, but 1 year later, yours looks great! Great video!

    • @maxspeedadventures
      @maxspeedadventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much. I think we should get ten years pretty easy. Galvanize is a better material than I even knew after working with it for 12 years. So far this year I have used 2 chlorine tabs and hat it! Zero rust inside, the bottom has some light surface rust thins year. I would put it on a level piece of ground. My prior pool was a cheap vinyl pool and the ground was not perfect. It slowly slid down the slope and would move about 2” a year. I hope this helps, it’s just my thoughts, the only thing I wish I’d done is bought a small sand filter. My little left over paper filter pump works, and the water stay clear, but I think it could be better.

    • @maxspeedadventures
      @maxspeedadventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, sorry I forgot my suggestion. I would measure out about ten feet and put a 4 inch retaining block then level it up with more gravel.

    Should you have conduit around that wiring since its outside?

    • @maxspeedadventures
      @maxspeedadventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question Steve! You could and it would definitely be a better set up. I am not a certified electrician, however the gray wire I used is for outdoor use and I did put it in conduit where it is underground. It is coated much better than standard wire making it water proof. I am more concerned with the boxes I used(which are outdoor rated as well) causing a short than I am the wire. However, maybe we have someone who is certified that will read this and answer?
