Running the water through black pipe or hoses in the sun can heat it pretty nicely without added heating cost (running cost is just that of running a pump). I know someone who ran hoses along their sunny roof and another who uses their fence and PVC pipe.

I’m thinking about a poly one though so might be even easier to paint and maintain. Without sanding the smooth metal I’d think the paint could scratch or chip fairly easily?

How does the bottom of your stock tank feel my stock tank is very sandpapery. Rough hurts your skin. I had to paint it to be smooth.

I'm not sure why your paint stuck to the galvanized finish on the tank without any prep for that.

Dumb luck🤔 or maybe it’s because I talked to the guy at my local paint store and bought paint that works well for covering hard-to-coat surfaces like metal😀!
