      Too bad he knows nothing about Animal Crossing. Most of the "secrets" he shows are clearly visible in the game, and some of the claims he makes about the game are incorrect. This video was definitely made by someone who does not actually play Animal Crossing but just made assumptions based on dropping into the game one time, not knowing how things work in actual game play.

    This was awesome! All of the villagers are fully modelled underneath their clothing, primarily due to the player having the ability to make them wear any outfit they choose (clothing types come in different sized), however for all of the special NPCs (minus tom nook, nook twins, isabelle, K.K. Slider), almost all of the NPCs do not have a full model. Their clothing is actually part of the model, whereas for the few NPCs and all villagers, their clothing consists of a separate model that is layered on top of their model.
    Also, kinda related, did you know that all 3 hedgehog siblings have unique models and they are not just recoloured versions of the same model?

    A little disappointed you didn't do the giant models thing at the museum. That would've been a quick and easy way to show off the detail on the fish, bugs, and possibly fossils but I doubt that'll work unless you can supersize furniture (which is an ENORMOUS can of worms to open lmao). • @Bidziilla
      @Bidziilla ปีที่แล้ว

      I've noticed that the game doesn't flatten the world when moving the camera angle upwards, interestingly enough. However, using the mailbox does flatten the world!
      This is likely because they use different camera modes for these events.
      When you're outdoors, the orientation of the camera controlled by the right analog stick is all the same mode, the int for it is the same.
      But, for example opening the mailbox uses a different mode! :) I may be wrong about this, though as not much research into these different modes has been made yet. I plan to document it in further detail at some point.

    I love your content. Every video is a gem and a look behind the curtain about how video games are made. It's why I subscribe via Patreon. All of my Patreon subscriptions are for content creators discussing the mechanics, art, and making of video games. I did see my name in this video at 1:46, but it was only because you included a clip from an older episode of Boundary Break. Please don't forget about your Patreon subscribers!

      I highly respect the devs for the tricks they use to make their games as exciting as possible. Boundary Break, Retro Game Mechanics Explained... we need this type of videos to see and understand what they do.
      Still upset Nintendo claimed the first ACNH video. I hope it won't happen to this one...

    Animal Crossing and Splatoon are made by the same production unit at Nintendo, so it's no surprise both games have such detailed models and areas!

    This video singlehandedly made me grab my Switch and start Animal Crossing again after a long time. Sad that the algorith keeps messing up the views, but you did an amazing job!

    That ''missing texture'' on the trees is actually just for when you cut one of those trees down that chipped part is there.
    So, technically the tree trunk and the tree top are just two parts that make up the tree.

    4:42 It's kind of a part of Animal Crossing's style that almost every character has different eye designs.

    I know the Rolling Log aesthetic is iconic, but this really makes me want an Animal Crossing with a free camera, even if it means dropping the rolling log look. I've always thought the locked camera angle was really limiting.

    I knew a lot of this stuff cause @Densle has done animations using the actual models and you can see all the weird details and names of the objects. (Many of the names of the files are translated names of the the objects (though I think bugs are still in their japanese names but anglized)

    The game looks even cooler being able to turn the camera all the way around. Hoping in the next animal crossing they do away with the one sided world idea
