- Lets talk about this cheap and easy DIY nesting box for chickens. You don't need tools, all you need is to pick one up and place it into your coop. I was worried when my wife told me she found nesting boxes for our chickens.. but I was pleasantly surprised when I realized what she had found. I wouldn't be able to find an actual nesting box that works as well as this does!

Thank you, Brandon! We're actually going out to build the big coop today, and we have 60 chicks. The math states 12 nesting boxes, and I really didn't want to make them all out of wood, since I wanted to be able to remove and clean them. Thank you and your wife so much for helping us find these!!

I am using these!!! They stay very clean and if you need to hose them out it is so easy!! My chickens love them with horse stall shavings in them. I believe I got them off Walmart. They don't kick their bedding out either....they are perfect! So far after 6 months not a single dirty egg.
These are perfect and a lot less expensive than the cat litter box I was looking at. I have 4 girls hiding their eggs all over the yard. I hope they like these better.

Thank you for such a great idea for nesting boxes. A storm destroyed my chicken coop so I am starting over. The chickens are in with the goats right now and I ordered a book on plans for chicken tractors and small coops. I only have nine birds and my last coop held 25 so I want to go a little smaller. I'm in my seventies and single so my nephew who's eleven is going to help me build a new coop. The organizers for nesting boxes means less to build. Enjoy your videos, lots of good ideas.

Plastic is perfect. A friend of mine uses those covered cat little box things? She got them from places like Facebook marketplace or freecycle and then removed the little swing doors before spraying them down and then setting them up in her coop.
Yours looked great and I like the size better than the litter boxes 👍🏻

thank youy so much! wal mart did not have any in stock, but I went to look on amazon, different brand, same dimensions color everything, they only had 3 left in stock, sets of 4 for 47 bucks

They occasionally have them, keep looking for them until they are available. I got one last april and found another one last month (June) I’m still in the look for one more.

Love the boxes!!! Unfortunately none of them have been available anywhere the last 2 or 3 months. They all say currently unavailable at Amazon and Walmart, I am building a couple coops and would love to have these. I hope that they come back soon!
I’m sorry 😭😭😭! I have been trying to search for anything even similar anywhere else and so far I’ve had no luck. If I do end up finding some I’ll post them in the description of this video… but so far they are becoming harder and harder to come by. I feel like we should just make them ourselves and market them as nesting boxes. The demand is definitely there 😂

I love this boxes, my chickens are not laying eggs yet, they are young, just born in April. Do this boxes tip over? they are kind of light. I wonder if I can screw something for my chickens to climb in.
Anytime we get young chickens they like to topple them over so we put cinder blocks on them. BUT you could absolutely drill them into a wall!

Me and my grandpa would always get a old tub or a old basket that was made out of plastic it was very cheap but this is probably a better nesting box than a piece of plastic🤣 Great idea!!

Well, this is a great idea but I could not find them in any store within 50 miles of where I live and they were not available online. Thanks Walmart. Very sad.

Keeping checking larger radius using different zip codes in Walmart search. I was able to find some shortly after the 50 miles radius (was like 60 miles)
Have you tried Amazon? There’s another brand on Amazon that is pretty much the same design! If you look in the description of the video I threw it in there! Although that one keeps running out of stock too. Either way, good luck!
