    Hi MoA. Thanks for reacting to my suggestion. At the point this video was made (2014), Jinjer was almost unknown outside of Ukraine. This vid captures their singular intensity very nicely. Be well.

    Once you get on the Jinjer train you don't get off. The band as a whole is phenomenal, Tati is ridiculous her ability to transition to different vocal styles. I have had the pleasure of seeing them live, and they are flawless.

    I too don't care for growling, or even a lot of metal, and yet I'm in love with this band. Tati is amazing, but all the musicianship is incredible.

    I'm really enjoying your Jinjer journey. Great reaction! As others have already suggested, Bad Water is all clean vocals, but I would also suggest a newer song called Wallflower. More Jinjer please and thank you.

    The type of music Jinjer plays can be considered aggressive but Tatiana has such an amazing voice. Check out their song Wallflowers, it's a bit more of a slow tempo with great clean singing - the fewer growls are more placed for emphasis of the lyrics. Might be more your type and well worth a shot. 🤘

    I truly understand what u say about "being too strong 4 u". Jinjer has got its chaotic heaviness everything all at once. Somehow I love it so much but I understand when people say they even got a bit dizzy by all in it ;)

    I am 62 going on 63, I have been a Jinjer fan for about 4 years. In my twentys I was a metal head and enjoyed the metal club scene in Germany. I was also a big fan of the 80s band Warlock, I love female fronted groups. 4 years year ago I found Jinger and it was love at first growl. There is something really special about this band. Hope your Jinjer journey is enjoyable.

      Steve, I'm 67 y.o. and listening to metal keeps me invigorated. I got to see Jinjer live in Atlanta GA in Dec 2021 and they were fabulous live. You noted you like female-fronted bands. Plush is a fairly new all-female band from the USA. Try their live-in-the-studio version of their song "Hate." You'll find it at: th-cam.com/video/IO0gkGuDTvQ/w-d-xo.html . Also, try their version of Alter Bridge's "Isolation." The later is so scorching it'll peel the paint off the walls!!

    "I Speak Astronomy" is more of a pop song. She only does a very small amount of growls in that one. And in "Bad Water" she doesn't do any growls at all. She only sings. It's their blues song.

    It’s a little strong for me, too, but it really grows on you, especially some of the tamer songs that others have recommended. Her voice is so incredible, and the band is SO talented, that I am loving them more and more with each listen. That you are smiling shows you might be coming around, too.

    Hi guys, fun reaction vid. As other commenters have mentioned, I would recommended checking out their song Wallflower. It has fantastic songwriting, playing and arrangement, with a slower, mellow feel through the middle of the song and then it slowly builds in intensity. Tatiana’s vocals are beautiful on Wallflower and she only does harsh vocals for maybe 20% of the song.

  • @Mindfreak1987
    @Mindfreak1987 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    You should check out Bad Water by them, there is only clean vocals. You would def enjoy it with more calmer song 👍

  • @pinkierural
    @pinkierural ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Tatiana says the harsh vocals is to give intensity and contrast to the music like Beauty and the Beast. Its the juxtapositioning that is fascinating.

    One of my favourit songs of all time is "Home Back".
    It is a little bit heavy especially in times like these.
    Most of the time i am on the verge of crying when i listen to it.
    But it is an absolute masterpiece and i can only recommend you listen to it.
    The lyrics pack a punch...

    Very Good Reaction! Keep going with Jinjer Dominika, Tatiana will grow on you.
    Andrei, I just got a chance to watch ya'lls reaction to Iron Maiden, Hallowed Be Thy Name and you asked how can they play the same notes every night like they do. Well the answer is repetition. Before bands like them go out on tour they will practice the songs, especially if they have not been on tour for a while. Back in the day, when record companies were more in charge of touring, a band might play 180 to 200 shows a year.

  • @j.f.fisher5318
    @j.f.fisher5318 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    What would art be if everyone had the same tastes and personal wiring? My gf gets severe stress reactions from stuff I didn't even realize was aggressive. That said a big part of why I love her growls is the meaning of what she's saying, it might take some practice understanding. A lyrics video like No Hoard Of Value might be good to check out, or reading the lyrics first might help.
    A very light, fun short song by them is Beggars Dance, the outro track from their King Of Everything album- there's no video, so maybe watch one of the versions of Bad Water (preferably official live) and then segue into that at the end.
    Also, after Bad Water official live Tati introduces another band they were apparently opening for or preceding at a festival or something- Twelve Foot Ninja, which Tatiana did featured vocals for on their song Over And Out. Cheers!
    You can also find Tati's cleans as featured vocals on Suicide Silence covering Alice In Chains' song Man In The Box.

    Thank you for your reaction. I have to say, I felt exactly Like Dominica initially when I started hearing Jinjer. I liked her clean vocals and the music so much, I kept coming back to their music. Suddenly, the more I got used to it, the more I realized that the growling is an instrument per se. It is a form of expression, and Tatiana does use that tool in a very intelligent way to increase the intensity of the song and the lyrics, likewise. There are some songs, where she nearly exclusively growls and screams (My favourite there would be Sit, Stay, Roll Over, a very aggressive song indeed), but there is always an intention behind that. It is not meant to be beautiful, it is meant to be intense.
    I probably would not have suggested this song (Outlander) as a second try, but fortunately tastes are different. The sound of Jinjer has developed a lot since their early days, and it diversified a lot more.
    If you like her clean vocals, go for Bad Water (both official video or live version are great), that one is also an older song.
    From their last album I suggest Wallflower, official video. A very introspective and very personal song for Tatiana. You wouldn't tell by watching her live performances, but she is a very introverted and shy person. As she said in an interview, she is shy in not a good way, where she sometimes is almost unable to talk to strangers. With that song and the whole last album she wanted to raise awereness that shy people are just as normal as everybody else, but just different than the rest of the extroverted world. Highly recommended.
    More suggestions would be:
    Judgement and Punishment, one take vocal performance ( a fun video to watch and hear, she is absolutely mind blowing in that.)
    Perennial, live in Wacken 2019. An amazing performance of one their most remarkable songs. Tatiana really shines here, but the whole band is very tight.
    Probably one of her most remarkable vocal achievements: I speak astronomy, official video (the video is stunnigly beautiful, you definetely should watch this).
    There are so many more, but ask me later again ;)

    Listen to Prologue and Beggar’s Dance, the opening and ending tracks of their 2016 album King of Everything. A double feature as both are short, no growls, same lyrics but sung in different styles and showcases their jazz influences 🤘🤘🤘

    If you take a 500m step back and look at what is being done, you would see the waves of energy permeating from this band to their audience and it is a potent, free energy. When you listen to this song and take in this energy without resistance, you become grateful for its availability...what you do with such energy is your responsibility, and hopefully, it is productive for you. They have several songs that are off the charts in their production of potent free energy... Cloud Factory is another. They refine it to be more specialized in a few other songs, Just Another has an uplifting frequency, I Speak Astronomy is focused on spicy love, Wallflower on a deep meditative state for mental health, Pit of Consciousness on empowerment for deep self-reflection...etc. When you start to see this music for its potential and what they have supplied for you, your appreciation will grow exponentially, and with that, your desire to hear it more and more.

    Mr. Fisher's comment is on point, as usual.
    I think you'd get a kick out of "Beggar's Dance" - it's pure Jinjer-style jazz, complete with scat, & serves as the album outro. As Mr. Fisher said, there's no video. There is a fan-made unofficial video that shows clips of Tatiana being her charming, charismatic self & showing off some of her many looks. Search: Jinjer- Beggars dance (Unofficial video).
    "Bad Water" is a metal song with exclusively clean vocals & is not as heavy as "Outlander". The Official Music Video & the Official Live are about equally good, but I lean toward recommending the live (or a double feature). Search: Bad Water (Official Live Video); or Bad Water (Official Music Video).
    I think that the recommendations or "I Speak Astronomy" & "Wallflower" are also very good or you, both having mostly clean vocals with a few strategically placed growls / screams. Both Official Music Videos are not to be missed. There are also several excellent live videos of "I Speak Astronomy", making it a good candidate for a double feature. Search: I Speak Astronomy (Official Video); I Speak Astronomy (LIVE at Summer Breeze 2018) or I Speak Astronomy - Live at Wacken Open Air 2019; Wallflower (Official Video).

    Warning! Polish language on the comment! 😜 Dzięki za poświęcenie swojego czasu na reakcję, która może nie do końca jest w Waszym guście, ale dzięki temu jest absolutnie naturalna. Mam dla was jeszcze dwie propozycje odnośnie tego zespołu:
    Pierwsza to "Bad water" w wydaniu oficjalnym - według mnie przypadnie Wam do gustu chocby dla tego, że Tatiana przez cały kawałek śpiewa czystym głosem.
    Druga to "Wallflower", również w wydaniu oficjalnym. Jest to utwór pochodzący z ich najnowszej płyty o tym samym tytule, charakteryzujący się świetnym klimatem oraz wspaniałym tekstem.
    Przy okazji - Tatiana pisze świetne teksty, czego w obecnej muzyce można ze świecą szukać....
