    That backing tune gave me Quench 'Dreams' vibes - old school Aussie trance at its best. Just needed a 4/4 kick drum behind it. Great to see the accumulator install, its another feather in the IS600's cap, making it much more resilient. Cheers Benny!

  • @craigm5511

    The way you set up the solenoid to close as soon as it hits 35psi, won't that prevent you from being able to store full engine oil pressure in the accumulator for the next start up? Dumping 35psi into the engine when cold is good, but 60psi would be better :)

    • @BennysCustomWorks
      @BennysCustomWorks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The solenoid is a diaphragm type so is effectively a one way valve so it’s always allowing more pressure in until it equalises. You only need to drive the solenoid to allow oil to return to the engine

    • @Lightningmacqueen882
      @Lightningmacqueen882 ปีที่แล้ว

      Benny just to add alittle further to this it would be just easy to open the solenoid with the reds on at anytime, then when you get a low power situation the accumulator will just take over and save the engine. Honestly no real need for a low pressure switch.
      Regards
      Michael

    You could make your 12v switched to your accumulator relay come from the key, that way it would hold the oil when you kill it and prime it and let the ECU control it while running??

    • @BennysCustomWorks
      @BennysCustomWorks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ecu also allows it to come on at 0 Rpm ( that’s how we set it up )

    Would you have to leave reds on when draining the oil, so you can change the oil also in the accumulator?

    have you got gates and baffles in your sump ?

  • @ashkellybarr8980
    @ashkellybarr8980 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    need a normally closed solenoid, that way you dont need ecu to hold power to hold pressure in the accumulator when not running. means you dont need to manually turn it off too

    • @BennysCustomWorks
      @BennysCustomWorks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is an nc solenoid and the ecu only triggers is in the event of low oil pressure. Being a diaphragm type solenoid means it’ll allow pressure in but not out unless triggered. The ball valve is only to isolate the accumulator from the system.

    • @ashkellybarr8980
      @ashkellybarr8980 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BennysCustomWorks ah sweet I miss understood your explanation and thought it was NO. I take it ecu has no delay on rising pressure witch is why you need to map “low pressure” to figure out what to set it too so I fills enough??

    • @BennysCustomWorks
      @BennysCustomWorks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You should not use pipe dope on the threads with an oil system, additives in the oil will dissolve it, only use teflon tape.

    Someone told me that oil accumulators are only appropriate for track dedicated cars tuned to idle above 2k because the pressure in the accumulator is more than in a fairly stock motor at idle. I'm not an expert but is there any truth to that?

    • @BennysCustomWorks
      @BennysCustomWorks  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have the accumulator electrically controlled it’s never open at idle if setup properly
