I’m sure no harm was meant, but to clear it up, the Sami are not elves, they are indigenous people that can be stereotyped/nicknamed elves due to the tourism and advertising surrounding them and their outfits resembling Santa. Also, christmas existed before Santa. Christmas was originally the annual festival the birth of Jesus Christ, which some people of course still celebrate today.

i remember when this movie was first teased and i was a gasped when i saw the animation. mainly the humans but it's all hand drawn! it looks simply amazing with the lighting they had going as well and it blows my mind how they did it!
When I first saw this movie and saw this scene (29:17 - 31:00), I immediately called it the *'Your Name'* scene, because the music is so similar to the song Sparkle. Also, Klaus's animation studio SPA Studios needs to work on a future Makoto Shinkai film. Combining their individual strengths (implementing SPA's 3D lighting and texturing on Shinkai's character designs and lush backgrounds) would create the most beautiful-looking animated film ever made.

Klaus is such a beautiful movie honestly. I’m sad it’s so underrated. The animation and story is beautiful. Glad you guys liked it though! Nice reaction :)
26:24 okay so fun fact, I remember hearing that the idea of santa clause was inspired by some sort of Bishop known for his generosity and secret gift giving and eventually was made into a sort of saint hence Saint Nick being one of the names Santa Clause was known for. In any case Christmas has been a thing long before Santa Clause was, it has origins in Norse and Greek festivals but Christians eventually adopted the rituals as a way to celebrate the birth of Jesus. I believe that generally speaking during the time the film portrays it was still used to celebrate Jesus hence why you can see some people singing Silent Night when the town gets together for the festival later on. I do have to wonder if they'd still celebrate separately with their own clans or not at all being too focused on their feuds had Jesper not came along and came up with his scheme
The reason why Klaus is so good is simple, its a good traditionally drawn animated movie, like the ones we grew up on, not what has been made by studios recently.

The fact you can't think Christmas before Santa is so funny american...
Merry Christmas! Glad to see more people coming across this immediate classic.
haven't seen anyone say this yet but Sami people are the opposite of foreign, they're indigenous people in Sapmi (formerly known as Lapland) and they've been treated pretty horribly by government. their language is endangered too
I watch this movie at any point during the year. Christmas is always there, whenever you need it, if only you know where to look.
I remember this movie making me cry twice. It should be a classic.
I am tardy to this party. But I am very happy you guys watched it and enjoyed it. I cry everytime k watch it, and even when I watch reactions. U guys crying made me cry more. This movie was beautiful, and deserved the honour of the Oscar nomination
Probably my favorite Christmas movie, I'm sobbing every watch.
Yes, love this movie! It instantly became one of my family's favorite Christmas movies and we watch it at least twice every December.
one of the most underrated christmas movies. the art style is amazing.
Thank you for reacting to this wonderful film!
You guys do know that Christmas is not about Santa Klaus
The reason why Klaus is so good is simple, its a good traditionally drawn animated movie, like the ones we grew up on, not what has been made by studios recently.
This has become a classic at our house. So good. Glad to watch this!
Screaming at the screen to get rid of the ol' curmudgeony bastards was hilarious! Sometimes you get sick of wondering "why". xD
More people need to see this movie. I'm glad you're watching it
"Santa says if you're naughty, he'll poop in your bed."
Well, that would make children good
I was confused why they reacted like that!
Santa’s bag of toys is the only bag in media I’ve consistently heard being referred to as a sack.
