This movie was an unexpected surprise of how amazing it was. It definitely was robbed at the Oscars but thats a trend for Oscars anyway. I was never into the Christmas holiday because every year growing up it was very stressful in a toxic household but this movie made me feel the magic and spirit of the holiday season and legit made me tear up and feel warm inside. I absolutely loved this movie and watch it every year.
for anyone wondering what margu is saying: Can I get a toy? Could I also get one, please? hello post man Can you speak with me now, then? I have waited for (so) long Are you going to help me? Finally! I don't think you understand me you are a dummy I would really like a toy I like her, she's kind I would like a sleigh, a biiig sleigh He's a little bit of a dummy, right? (Margu) - Mom, dad! He came, he came! (Father) - Oh, what a nice sleigh! (Mother): It's cold, you should put on your hat. And don't sleigh too fast This is how you sleigh It was he who helped me (Father) - We heard that you might need help (Mother) - Thank you! You made her so happy (Father) - On three! One, two, three! Oh gosh, it barely fits (something) he is a big man What is happening? Jesper! Don't go, Jesper! Jesper, (I don't understand) You know that I can't understand you yet, right? (Man) - Good! That was the last present... be careful, be careful! Take it very slowly (Woman) - Why are they here?
I love how people are discovering this GEM of a movie. Wish it were appreciated when it was released, but becoming a cult classic now much after release, is also a nice thing.
When they began playing Margu's song, "Invisible" I felt that familiar punch in the nose that makes the eyes well up. When she opened her present and was enjoying the ride.... we're talking about a kiddie pool full of tears!! I have a feeling that Lydia was the initial "Spirit of Christmas." There has been a flood of reactions to Klaus this year and it is well deserved!! Such an instant classic!! Klaus joining Lydia ..... Seeing Margu grown up and still friends with Jesper ..... "I get to see my friend." Niagra falls Here is a present for you. I am going to subscribe and follow. Now you're stuck with me! hahahaha Merry Christmas!
This movie is still so new, and it is just an INSTANT classic. It tugs on all the right heartstrings. Seeing the clans mending their ways, the school getting up and running, cute little Margu, and then the death of Klaus, as well as finding out he did become magical after all. Anyone who can watch this and NOT get choked up has something very wrong with them.
The thing that makes this movie so great is that in essence it isn't about how Santa became Santa, but about how Jesper's personal character growth turned him from an asshole who didn't care about anyone into a caring father who misses his best friend. The fact that the best friend was the friend who turned into a mythological Santa spirit is just an added bonus. And yes, I cried as well. of course I did
As an animator I was pretty excited about this movie coming out back in 2019 because it looked so pretty, and I cried when I watched it with my family, I think it was one of the last Christmas films I got to watch with my sister before she passed away. Makes me cry again all over again.
This movie definitely makes me cry! It’s a good reminder of how amazing love can be, and how even one person can make a difference. And Margú owns my heart, she is precious.
I heard about this movie years before it came out-I’m an animation student and there was a lot of hype for hand drawn 2D animation being used in a feature film again (the medium has been pretty much dead since the early 2000s because of the advent of computer animation) I was so happy to see how well the film turned out. Truly deserve to be remembered as one of the classics.
It still thrives on TV, direct-to-DVD, occassionally in Western theaters, and still fully thrives in Japan. Don't forget the theatrical Western 2D films that came out post-2004, like the The Little Matchgirl, 2006 Curious George, The Simpsons Movie, Enchanted, the minor usage in Kung Fu Panda, The Princess and the Frog, the 2011 Winnie the Pooh, The Ballad of Nessie, Paperman, anything from Cartoon Saloon, the minor bits in Moana, Mary Poppins Returns, The Bob's Burgers Movie, minorly in the recent live-action Dora the Explorer movie, Disenchanted, and who knows what will be next.
Yes. I cried on the first watch and every watch since. You’re not alone, trust me. Very good reaction and review. And I appreciate how much you share too. It makes your videos all the more relatable and consequently enjoyable. Thank you for that.
The ending had me crying so bad. The idea that he didn't need an explanation, he didn't want one. He was just so happy to see his friend again. Absolutely magical movie.
I saw a notification for this movie and gave it a watch. But it's so heartfelt, magical and I love how everything was left up to a child's imagination.
Not only did I cry watching the movie for the first time, I still cry watching people's reaction to it. Such a good and wholesome film that has become a new Modern Christmas Classic in my opinion.
I absolutely cried at this one - hits you right in the warm and fuzzies in all the best ways, *especially* the shots of Klaus going to join his wife and the warmth of the town square compared to the misery we saw after the Battle Bell was rung. And yeah, that ending was *perfect* - apparently they originally had him and Alva going to the North Pole at Klaus' invitation, but they rewrote it to be more ambiguous.
What I love about this movie is that its got the emotional range to feel real. Like life its got fun and laughter, grief and pain, love and friendship, and personal and community growth. Even though a lot of it is fantastical or exaggerated this makes it grounded and lets you connect to the main characters. The crazy thing is all of that means its not even "I'm coming love" or "I get to see my friend" that gets me, its him being a goofy caring dad that gets me. Seeing that growth makes me tear up with joy, its amazing.
If I could speak for Sergio Pablos and his team, I'm sure they'd be moved by your tears. A storyteller truly feels appreciated when there work sparks the imagination while warming the heart.
Jasper being son of the Royal Postman General was a change that came about late in the development of the movie, that is why his father just shows up and leaves right after. I always thought it was a shame we did not see Jasper introduce his friends and Alva to him and see them interact.
Saw a clip for this when I was on Netflix and decided to check it out. Turns out it became one of my favourite Christmas movies of all time. RIP Norm Macdonald/the Boatman. One of the funniest comedians of all time. The ending had me sobbing, as I had lost my best friend that year.
So many tears, Clariss. I watched this movie because I saw you did a reaction to it. Two particular scenes got me- When Margu opened her gift and her parents watched as she sailed across the ice, and of course the end where Jesper is waiting for Klaus. This is a holiday favorite from now on.
I never clicked so fast on one of your reactions. Such a delightful movie and an amazing marriage between 2D animation and 3D lighting for something truly unique and special.
I have seen movie several times and cry every time. I watched it with my friends kids and they felt they had to comfort me because they saw me on tears multiple times.
I have seen this movie a few times now and knowing what is coming, I still cry. And that last line of the film makes me cry and fills my heart with joy at the same time.
It’s cool that Margu was voiced by a young lady from Norway who didn’t speak English. The director flew over there with the script and through translation and mimicry they got her to do her lines. I caught something in the movie I thought was interesting. Klaus and Jesper did the toy giving together for 12 years and there’s 12 days of Christmas. It’s probably not supposed to be a connection but I found it interesting. It’s hard to believe that many companies passed on this movie before Netflix grabbed it. It might’ve been cause the director didn’t want to use computer graphics for the film. They used cgi lighting on hand-drawn animation. Netflix has a couple more Christmas movies that are really good. They have “Jingle Jangle” with Forest Whittaker, they have “Christmas Chronicles 1&2” with Kurt Russell and “Scrooge: a Christmas Carol”
This movie is a christmas classic that just has to be watched every year. Its comedy, sweet, beautiful and so wholesome. Jesper reminds me of Kuzco a spoiler boy learning to be humble and finding the important things in life. Margu will forever be my favorite part of the film. And learning about her culture is just an added bonus. Glad more people are learning about the Sami.
Clariss, darling, you are most assuredly not alone. I have no shame in admitting that I have teared up every single time I've watched this movie, and every time I've watched a reaction to it. This movie really captured the very very point and essence Christmas. I was like you the first time I watched it wondering exactly how I any of it was going to tie back to Christmas. I think this movie did a stellar job of portraying the habits we all seem to fall into as we get older of not being connected, feeling like other people are just an obstacle in our day, and really just falling into self-interest. I love how it reminds us that true joy is found in community and selflessness.
Oh lordy, you are killing me. Yes, I will see my father again some day. Soon I will lose my mother, most likely this year. But it won't be forever. I'll see them both again. And now you have me bawling my eyes out. What beautiful sentiments from you. You give my heart hope.
From someone who has seen the movie many times and seen countless of reaction videos to it, I still cry every single time. Thank you for letting us share this moment with you.
Oh, man, did I cry at this movie. The scene with the little girl, Jesper, and the teacher around the table got me good. The music accompanying it is gorgeous. Of course her getting her gift did it too. Then the gut punch at the end with the touch of hope got me hard. Started crying watching you crying too, haha
baby i always cry whenever i watch it, it's so good!! klaus getting to go to lydia just fucks me up all the time (ಥAಥ) márgu's happiness when she gets her sled and jesper's contentment and satisfaction as he watches her play, and klaus seeing jesper feel what he feels whenever they deliver the toys aaaaaaaaaaaaa ava's reconnecting with her dream of teaching because the kids are enthusiastic to learn ohh mmyyyu goooooooodd it's always messes me upp
Honestly my favorite Christmas movie, watch it every year the last 3 years now. And of course you're not alone, I'm a grown man and still get teary and choked up at the ending. I'd be more surprised if someone didn't get at least a little emotional from this work of art. Normally I don't even watch reaction videos, but like I said, favorite movie. So I'm glad you enjoyed it, maybe even as much as I did. Merry Christmas.
Teared up at the reveal of the wall of empty slots for Klaus's family, Margu getting her present, Klaus passing on and the reveal of Klaus returning to see Jesper every Christmas.
I know I cried the first time I watched it but I have since come to just enjoy watching it. However, when you put together all the scenes and the emotional parts of the film end up back-to-back... my eyes now hurt from wiping away tears. A movie I love watching on repeat - it's so fun and heartwarming!
Darling, I think everyone cried at this movie. I saw it for the first time last night, and the soundtrack and the story really got me. Keep up the great work. ⭐⭐⭐
I saw this movie the first time and it became an annual tradition to watch this on Christmas. Fact from an animators point of view, this movie looks like it’s CGI but this whole thing was traditionally hand-drawn which still looks amazing.
Heck... I tear up at this movie _every time_ I watch it. What's more, I tear up even just when I watch a reactor watch it XD It is a legitimately beautiful movie... just... SO powerful and amazing. Netflix animation has been properly gutting here for the last several years. This and Arcane in particular... neither of them have any right to be as emotionally powerful as they are! None! Glad you loved it, though. I really enjoyed watching your reaction!
i've been watching people reacting to this film for the past month and every single time, i've cried my eyes out. i love this film so much! it's so wholesome and heartwarming! i am really glad you got to experience this masterpiece and got to enjoyed it!
This is a film that I believe will become the kind of Christmas classic we show our children and then they show their children. As for the Saami people of Scandinavia, they helped inspire elements of Frozen and Frozen II.
Fun fact, most of this film was done via 2d animation, and with superb ingenious lighting techniques, made it seem 3d in may aspects! Such a wonderful underrated gem, and testament to a legacy process in 2D animation.
This is one of my absolute favorite Christmas movies. I am in the camp that it's well deserved award was stolen by Toy Story 4. The ending always gets me, Niagara Falls everytime.
33:50 I LOVE THIS MOVIE because I met the singer that is singing as they’re doing a little montage of giving the little girl her present and she was literally the sweetest like I love her. This is such an iconic movie and a good rest presentation of how Christmas started in such a dull town to where everybody was hating on each other, and then it went from hating to absolutely coming together as one big town and I love that it’s a beautiful movie. 👏🥹
This film just evokes so many feelings both joy, laughter, sorrow, happiness. So yes, all the tears, all the time when watching this one! You are definitely not alone 😘💖🌟
I ball everytime. Especially for the "No!" Alluding to his wife and how they couldn't have children. And "I'm coming love..." when he could be with her again. And finally that line with Jesper "I get to see my friend."
You have to admit that the boatman has to be a great character. He is honestly my favorite, besides Klaus. This was honestly the best movie I've ever watched and one of the only movies that made me cry.
My wife and me saw it when it came out.. and i balled my eyes out, alongside my wife😂 Instant xmas classic for us here❤️👍🏽 Thanks for your take on this movie 🙏🏽
Amazing the diffrence between someone who really reacts to the movie over those who fake it. I pray that you'll get more views and more subscribers. I look forward to your progress.
I cried more watching you cry at this movie than I actually did watching the movie, and I don't even cry. 😂😭 Really well done movie, perfect addition to the annual Christmas viewing list.
It’s been said again and again but here’s another, one your not alone, this movie is a tug on your heartstrings tear jerker. And two this is a treasure that has no reason to be this good except that clearly there was a labor of love by all who made this movie possible. Which is what all movies should be

Alright babe merry Christmas 😘🎄
"A true act of good will, always sparks another" Merry christmas
I told you you'd love it 💕
The whole idea that Klaus was a simple man, but his influence made him something like the magical spirit of Christmas is just amazing.
Its true, and it makes an amazing film for kids that still believe, to be more amazed by the magic of it
Bro I just read this exact comment on another klaus reaction video
Well the movie heavily implies that he did become the embodiment of Christmas ⛄🎁
I saw it more of him ascending as a Saint, continuing the gift of Christmas as something more than a man. A gift from God.
I’m a Sámi and this movie is probably the best representation I’ve ever seen of us
This movie was an unexpected surprise of how amazing it was. It definitely was robbed at the Oscars but thats a trend for Oscars anyway. I really enjoyed this animation style. It's nice seeing something new and old at the same time.
It still thrives on TV, direct-to-DVD, occassionally in Western theaters, and still fully thrives in Japan.

I can't watch this movie without tearing up, Márgu is so adorable and the ending is so sweet.
Crying every time, you're not the only one. First time when Margu gets her gift, second time when Klaus joins Lydia ;_;
Yes. I cried on the first watch and every watch since. You’re not alone, trust me.
Very good reaction and review. And I appreciate how much you share too. It makes your videos all the more relatable and consequently enjoyable. Thank you for that.
I totally cried. Love this movie.
The ending had me crying so bad. The idea that he didn't need an explanation, he didn't want one. He was just so happy to see his friend again. Absolutely magical movie.
I first watched this with zero expectations. It blew me away.
Didn’t cry, but I almost never do, so no worries.
I'd been waiting for it to come out for a long time and sat down to it armed to the teeth with expectations. Still blew me away. XD
That end gets me every time. One of my favorite animated Christmas movies. I watch it a few times a year.
I absolutely cried at this one - hits you right in the warm and fuzzies in all the best ways, *especially* the shots of Klaus going to join his wife and the warmth of the town square compared to the misery we saw after the Battle Bell was rung.

Without a doubt my favorite Christmas time film. The 'One night a year, I get to see my friend' line gets my tears going every time.
Im 54 year old man. I had a huge lump in my throat at this movie ending, fighting back the tears. Gets me EVERY time i watch this movie.
I watched this movie today for the first time and I had tears in my eyes for around 30 minutes ranging from joy to sadness 😭
What I love about this movie is that its got the emotional range to feel real. Like life its got fun and laughter, grief and pain, love and friendship, and personal and community growth. Even though a lot of it is fantastical or exaggerated this makes it grounded and lets you connect to the main characters.

Thats one of the best animated movies for me i love coco, klaus, encanto etc
I thought it was a unique touch that they only show the film's title at the end. This really is a terrific movie.

I have seen movie several times and cry every time. I watched it with my friends kids and they felt they had to comfort me because they saw me on tears multiple times.
"There's no crying in baseball" but there is in Klaus...🎄
this is one of the most wholesome movies ever made.... gets me every time....
Yes, this is one of the movies that makes me cry, no matter how many times I watch it.
I have seen this movie a few times now and knowing what is coming, I still cry. And that last line of the film makes me cry and fills my heart with joy at the same time.
absolutely cried, and this is a good feeling I totally would share. It's just great,
Yes, I cried watching this movie. This would be the 2nd time that I cried watching it with a reactor.
Girl, I cried at the movie AND I cry again every time I watch a reaction to it. It's so beautiful and it ALWAYS gets me 🥺🥲
I FEEL YOU same this movie always been a classic for me
This movie always tugs my heartstrings. So well animated, written, and musical score is perfect
I must’ve of watched 15 different reactions to this the last month, and I tear up every time 🥹 my new favorite Christmas movie
I love how many people are reacting to it this year! It's such a good one 😁
From someone who has seen the movie many times and seen countless of reaction videos to it, I still cry every single time. Thank you for letting us share this moment with you.
Márgu's lines from 23:38 on:
"I have waited a long time for you to return."
"You behaved like a dummy, hihihi!"
I cry at the movie almost every time!! It's so sweet, and simple, and beautiful 🥰
baby i always cry whenever i watch it, it's so good!! klaus getting to go to lydia just fucks me up all the time (ಥAಥ) márgu's happiness when she gets her sled and jesper's contentment and satisfaction as he watches her play, and klaus seeing jesper feel what he feels whenever they deliver the toys aaaaaaaaaaaaa ava's reconnecting with her dream of teaching because the kids are enthusiastic to learn ohh mmyyyu goooooooodd it's always messes me upp
snowflake makeup is adorable and the movie was such a surprise when it first came out
This is my favorite Christmas movie and I cry every time I watch it.
This is maybe my favorite Christmas movie and so many people sleep on it. I get teary watching it every year
that last line always gets me too!!! it's so sadly beautiful
The scene with the little girl and jesper and Klaus reconciling hits me Everytime. And I've watched it 2 dozen times
I cry every time. It's an amazing movie.

Klaus became Santa Clause spreading cheer, love and presents to all around the world
This movie is a gem. And I adore it for all it had so offer- in the animation is absolutely gorgeous😭😭🤔
I love how Klaus's wife, Lydia, is the driving force behind his destiny as Santa Claus.❤
This is a film that I believe will become the kind of Christmas classic we show our children and then they show their children.

This is one of my absolute favorite Christmas movies. I am in the camp that it's well deserved award was stolen by Toy Story 4. The ending always gets me, Niagara Falls everytime.
I really enjoy this film because it touches on what I was raised to believe the season to be about good will and love for your neighbors.
I cried on this movie, several times, and even cried watching again on reactions.
Margu is one of the most adorable characters i've seen in a long time
Yes, that last scene made me ugly cry. 🥺
You’re not alone.
I cried the first time I watched this movie. I cry occasionally on rewatches. Sometimes the scene with Margu and her sled is what gets me, that song…
This film just evokes so many feelings both joy, laughter, sorrow, happiness. So yes, all the tears, all the time when watching this one! You are definitely not alone 😘💖🌟
It's okay I literally cry at multiple points of this movie every time I watch it.
I am 40 year old guy.. This is one of my go to Christmas films- I cry always when Klaus says :" I'm coming, my love"...
I like the story and how spark change in people with joy.
I ball everytime. Especially for the "No!" Alluding to his wife and how they couldn't have children. And "I'm coming love..." when he could be with her again. And finally that line with Jesper "I get to see my friend."
This is a movie that I'll be watching with my children every year.
You have to admit that the boatman has to be a great character. He is honestly my favorite, besides Klaus. This was honestly the best movie I've ever watched and one of the only movies that made me cry.
You're not alone, I bawl every single time I watch this
My wife and me saw it when it came out.. and i balled my eyes out, alongside my wife😂 Instant xmas classic for us here❤️👍🏽 Thanks for your take on this movie 🙏🏽
Still do get those tears, even after having seen this several times...
I cried, so moving, you got nothing to worry about kid.
I cannot tell you how many times a sobbed watching and rewatching this movie
Amazing the diffrence between someone who really reacts to the movie over those who fake it. I pray that you'll get more views and more subscribers. I look forward to your progress.
It is an absolute crime this movie lost the Oscar to Toy Story 4. This movie is absolutely gorgeous and heartwarming as hell.
That this gem lost to "Toy Story 4" just shows how corrupt and worthless the Film Academy is.
I cried more watching you cry at this movie than I actually did watching the movie, and I don't even cry. 😂😭
Really well done movie, perfect addition to the annual Christmas viewing list.
Disney also attempted to represent the Saami in frozen 2.
And I can safely say this one did it better.
I am a crusty, cynical, stoic 53-year-old man, but yes, I cried.
This is my all-time favorite Christmas movie.
It’s been said again and again but here’s another, one your not alone, this movie is a tug on your heartstrings tear jerker. And two this is a treasure that has no reason to be this good except that clearly there was a labor of love by all who made this movie possible. Which is what all movies should be
Yep. I cry every time.
