This deserves to be kept unmolested in all its glory the exact way this man leaves it. A truly worthy museum piece with his pic and bio right beside to preserve his legacy. Hats off to you sir.
I see this tool chest as something I might find at the gateway to heaven… with the holy grail number 1 sitting front and center. Beautiful collection, I’m blown away
Great video, thanks for not editing the conversation anymore than you did. Some of the stories and random incites made this much more interesting to me.👍👍👍
That tool chest, in my opinion, is the epitome of craftsmanship. Building a chest for so many tools of varied shapes and sizes...it's just - inspiring. Then to find items like a Stanley no. 1 inside, among other things...that tool chest is a small hanging museum. So glad I saw this video!
Thank you and I 1000% agree!!! I am going to try building something like that this summer for my mini tools but it won't be anywhere near the awesomeness of this chest! Hahah

The best part about this in my opinion is that he successfully accomplished the one thing that is the hardest to do. That is he designed and build the box in such a way that forces the viewers eyes to go over and over it because you keep finding something that you didn’t see at first look. Just like Studleys box you have to take some time or you will surely miss things.
He didn't design it with the intention of the viewer He designed it so his tools all fit and are easy to find That's why it's so intriguing to look at and easy to spot the tools It is a beautiful piece of art
I have been doing carpentry since I was five years old, back in 1965 , I have restored hundreds of plane's over the years, I am a qualified professional Carpenter by trade, I have restored hundreds of vintage carpenters tools too, I can never understand why some people get jealous it's just crazy, I have had some nasty things said to me, people just don't understand the work that goes into a tool collection like this, I have had my van broken into 3 time in the past working on a job, I come from a very poor family and work so very hard for everything, thanks for sharing this video it was absolutely amazing, best wishes from England .
I fully agree! They should be happy for him and strive to do the same if they want it! He put so much time and money into this, I am proud of him. It sucks that you had your van broken into, that is a shame! I hope you were able to get the items replaced!
Museum in a Chest! I'm drooling! Beautiful!!! I wonder how much it all weighs! 😂 Just absolutely gorgeous! Impressive! He's right, EBay is the place! Thou shalt not covet!
My man....I had to stop the video and play it again when the one guy said he found a Number 1 Stanley for 10 bucks. That's my dream. To be somewhere at a garage sale and find someone who is selling off tools in grandpa's tool chest. But, if I'm being honest, I don't think I could do that. I'd have to tell the person selling it that it's worth well over a thousand. Returning to the point of this video.....wow that tool chest is special. Thank you for posting this.
I was having the same struggle, my heart wants to say id tell them the price and then make an offer, my bank account wouldn't be able to pay the value, and then my head says, if they are selling an item they should have looked it up first. So why should i do the work for them and make myself pay more? hahaha I doubt it will ever happen but i will have that debate in my brain again if it does lol Thank you!!
Awesome! I built my first first about 2 years ago. I think another 5-8 incarnations and maybe another 30 years and I'll have something i might be this proud of. Outstanding collection. Beautifully presented.
I have a respectable collection of antique tools. There are a number here that I have never seen and certainly dont know what they are used for. Amazing collection. There's a lot of money in that tool chest - never mind the exceptionally hard work put into the tool case itself. It would fetch an eye watering price. And gets more expensive every single day. What a great asset.
I hope he has good locks on his doors because one day (uh one night) I'll be standing at his shop door and taking a good look in his beautiful tool cabinet.😅❤ it is AWESOME. thank you for sharing this with us.😢😅

The use of magnets, exactly what Studley would do if he was alive now. I like the multiple doors. Also interesting is that he's gone for no ornamentation.
I've a 1780s chest on chest. In mahogany. Last count, I've found 10 secret compartments. That would be an interesting addition. The other aspect of these displays is religious. So you had the doors, and it was only when you opened them up did you see the inner beauty. That's probably more relevant for the Studley, because of the masonic symbology.@@BatCaveCreations
@@BatCaveCreations I'd like to build one, or two. Other things I like. I like his multiple doors. The other one, there is a limited set of patterns you can apply. Screw drivers, chisels, follow the same pattern. Drill bits, its just a hole. Saws are another pattern, a lift from a saw till. Magnets mean you don't need the latches.
