    Would really enjoy (and learn from) a video on how you make handsaw totes. Thanks for sharing your craftsmanship.

    Yowza wowza, what a stylish and well laid out cabinet. Outstanding job. And you're the first person I've heard of who actually uses a #113.

    Dude, absolutely beautiful tool chest and collection. I aspire to have the skills to build something like this someday. Thank you for sharing

    Thank you for the detailed look. When I saw the cabinet a year ago on Instagram I couldn’t figure out all the details.. like that black disc in the bottom middle. Ornamental but maybe a ramp for the doors when closed.

    If you ever re-make that stair saw. I’d love to see a video on how you make it.

    This is indeed a work of art. Love it, I have been enamored by the Studley tool chest. WHile I dont have near the tools he had, I would like mine to look good and have a place. Your cabinet is equally inspiring!. Thanks for sharing this and cant wait to see more!

    Awesome chest!!! Beautiful beautiful Work and tools. I love veritas as well. I don’t think we have to spend a mortgage payment for a tool. Although I look at some of the higher end stuff. I’d rather spend the money on stock.
    You’ve picked up a sub.
    Can’t wait to see the projects you make.

    One thing that struck me about your bench planes, is that they tend to be bevel down. I was wondering what the reason is for that? You do amazing work. Thank you so much for sharing!

      I like being able to swap blades for different cutting angles. I've done this quite a bit with the jointer, smoothing, and block planes. It's nice not having to fiddle with a chip breaker too.

    I'm delighted to learn about the details of your wonderful tool cabinet and look forward to more videos. Question: how easy or difficult is it to add tools you find you need?

    • @themountaintopjoinersshop8422
      @themountaintopjoinersshop8422  ปีที่แล้ว

      That hasn't happened much to this point, but you'll see in a future part of the series that I left room for that sort of thing.

    i have one of the 113 planes do you have a aftermarket blade and chip-breaker on yours as mine is missing those components.

    • @themountaintopjoinersshop8422
      @themountaintopjoinersshop8422  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mine has a replacement blade and chip-breaker from Hock Tools, which are sold through all sorts of online woodworking retailers.

    Excellent series! I might have missed it, but what length and tpi are your Pax cross/rip cut saws?

    • @themountaintopjoinersshop8422
      @themountaintopjoinersshop8422  ปีที่แล้ว

      The crosscut is 22"/10tpi and the rip is 26"/4.5tpi.

      Thank you! They’re made in Sheffield, England (as are Clifton Planes), which is where I’ve lived for 15 years. So at least I have an excuse to support a local business!

    Any chance you could provide more visual detail on the saw till? Specifically, what inserts did you put into each slot that provides structural stability. Great video and stellar work on your part!

    • @themountaintopjoinersshop8422
      @themountaintopjoinersshop8422  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I documented some of the build on my Instagram page but you'd have to scroll back about three years in my feed. I also included some close ups and panning shots of it in my "Genesis is a Tool Cabinet" video if that helps.

      @@themountaintopjoinersshop8422 great! Have you made a recent commitment to more content? It’s very different from what I saw 10-12 months ago, and it shows thoughts on design and craft (and your dry humor) in a way previous work did not. Your videography, and of course your work, is really compelling. It warrants a closer follow. Very well done and a great inspiration.

      I can hear it fine on all my devices, but yeah, I was still very new to this when I recorded the tool cabinet series, and hope you'll agree my audio has come a long way since then.
