I have the guild project but I still love watching the speed videos. Once again great project and highly recommend getting the guild videos. Thanks Matt
Winner of a video, I've been looking for "woodworking workbench plan" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Yiyli Yeyavid Booster - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my mate got cool success with it.
I'm an 80 year old woman that loves all of your videos. I find it a great way to relax and enjoy a craft that I wish that I had learned and worked. My favorite quip is that in my next life I'm gonna be a finish carpenter. So watching your expertise is a joy!! I don't have TV and at the end of the day I enjoy your work!! I make pies, jams, and home-made meals for folks that need a helping hand so I am very busy all day. I really look forward to relax with Matt!!
It was a little flimsier than I expected. I had to add a 2x2 piece of wood to the bottom on the rear side in order to stabilize it better th-cam.com/users/postUgkxXTh-lz-8W6GcB219vTLp27-MxbZYObBX . It is also starting to bow a little at the outer wall ( I've had it up for about 6 months), I've already had a shelf tumble down because of the bow and the fact that the little shelf brackets are quite short. I went out to home depot and got some longer ones so that the shelves don't tumble down again. Overall, it looks very nice for the price and it holds a lot ( I use it as a pantry). I am very satisfied with my purchase. I just strongly suggest reinforcing it before putting it up.
That is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! The colour and grain of the woods, The epoxy veneer, the spalted wood. But remember, and I'll probably get a slap for this, it is JUST a toolbox.
Matt I don't care what that Wooden Whisperer says, that cabinet looks BEAUTIFUL. I didn't realize just how much work you put into this cabinet. I don't know how much you are charging for the plans and/or the entire course but I tell you right now it ain't enough. Great work man. God Bless my friend.
One of the BEST cabinetmakers I have seen on you tube . I hate to label anyone as the best but he is certainly up there and I haven't seen better .Look at those doors . Just WOW,epoxy encapsulated crotch. There is SO much beauty here that I do NOT know which part to comment on.
Okay, I'll admit it. Before I got into the video, I thought you were nuts! Lol. Who puts that much time and effort into a shop cabinet?! Lol. But, I'm happy to admit that i was totally wrong! Dude, that cabinet rocks! I think it was Mark @ Gunflint Designs that said, why not practice your skills and develop new ones (I'm paraphrasing) in your own shop. He was right and so are you. Anyone who hires you to do a project for them will be darn lucky. Beautiful work my friend! A+!
Hands down this is an amazing project. It definitely features your ability with joints BUT bro ...100+ hours on a hand planer cabinet!!! Had to have been a labor of love. haha 18:37 with your middle son shirtless, baby on a dusty workbench, and kind wife assisting with the assembly., so much fun!
Are you kidding me! You swung for the fence on this one ,great work. Watching someone perform that has mastered their passion, be it guitars or wood tools, is a pleasure and from the grin I'm guessing you agree. Good job!
Turned out beautiful. Very attractive and with all the jointery you used you can tell it had a lot of heart and soul in the construction... not just thrown together with pocket holes with butt joints like a lot of people do nowadays. 👍👏
Exquisite! While the cabinet is a wonderfully crafted piece, it is the resin casting that really makes the piece. Don’t forget to tuck away a documentation behind the piece for keeping the provenance alive for future generations!
Love the cabinet👍😊 you have awesome skills... I built cherry shop cabinets and get the complaints.. shy do you need cherry cabinets.. I tell them life is too short for ugly shop cabinets 😊 thanks Matt you are my favorite furniture maker... you are always smiling and upbeat 👍😊

I love the work you did on the cabinet the doors look great, I am retired and trying to start a woodworking shop of myself and other Disabled Veterans, So I enjoy watching what you do I am hoping you will some how get your video's in order so makes it easier to watch what I want to, Also I like how you and April worked together and her saw mill.
Matthew, you are so talented. Project looks so nice. I do believe that things for the shop should be a show piece, This will show your talent to visitors to the shop. I am still working on a design for my case. You have me a great idea on the double door. And of course the front of the cabinet. I will do a book matched as i am still working on pouring. Thank you
Dude my dad had an awesome cabinet like that it was amazing but your cabinet is a work of art. My dad would be impressed by your work for sure.. Man you do an awesome job.. I love hand tools and love watching you use your mill to the chisel to do your project... thanks for sharing and making us all better ... J
One word: AWESOME!!! This is a great project, where you applied too much creativity and performed a really precised and high quality job. Congrats Matthew.
Matt, your hand tool skills are excellent. I sure hope you left enough space for adding future hand tools... 'cause you know that we woodworkers never have enough tools! Thanks for sharing this with us. I've been wanting to make a new case for my expanding hand tools collection and your cabinet has given me the inspiration to get going! Cheers, Marty
You're a true and very capable craftsman. I admire you and I learn a lot from you. You aspire me to be a better woodworker. The cabinet turned out fantastic. Thank you for sharing your wonderful work and motivating all of us to make beautiful and useful projects.
Started WW 2 years ago and love it. Love your vids. I actually had a crack at this build.took me 3 months on weekends. Mine is no where near as good as yours MC but the double door idea is great. I made mine slightly larger too to hold a full saw. Inspired by this build it now hangs in my shed. My first major project. Plenty of mistakes but its done.
I find your videos most interesting, it is a real pleasure to see the level of detail that you put in your projects, while in todays world so many products are mass produced with little attention to detail or quality.
Matt, Absolutely Amazing build and Fantastic joinery! That cabinet is you from the start of you cutting the log into usable wood using your milling machine to the astounding veneering and the joinery you are so well known for! Congratulations!
Absolutely love your build videos. You make it seem simple until i think about all of the detail and skill involved. Thanks for sharing your hard work.
Hi Matt ♿ those veneers are definitely the icing on the cake.... Fantastic way to organise and protect your tools. My new shop walls are just going up so no you've inspired me I'm looking after my tools as well. It also creates a focal point, and as good as any painting 👏👏👏👏 great to see all the kids in the shop👍😉
Congrats Matt! Been following along on the guild but it's great to see the full build come to fruition in only 22 minutes. Somehow every time I get a hint of complacency in my shop it seems you finish one of your builds and it kicks me back in gear. Can't wait to see what's next...
dude that is a sick cabinet. I love the look of those Spawlted Maple drawer fronts. I never knew u could soak the softer wood in epoxy, what type of epoxy is that?, to strengthen the fronts. At 1st I was thinking man that is over kill for a cabinet for tools but it's a stunning piece of carpentry/Joinery. U have some proper skills incorporated into this piece. I'm really impressed by this build especially the amount of work that went into it. The fact u had to cut 32 mortices for hinges says it all really. haha! Great work pal. Keep the brilliant content coming. I will be watching for more now..
Hi Matthew you are so lucky to have the lumber ( we call it timber ) on hand with a massive bandsaw to be able to cut what ever wood you require love the videos 😀😀😀
Outstanding!! Y'know, Matt....maybe the most impressive part of this and your other 'major' projects is the fact that you've managed to develop the skills required over a relatively short period of time!! To compare: My grandfather began teaching me when I was *very* young. I have now been 'puttering' with woodworking for the better part of sixty years! You, on the other hand, have been at this (as far as I know) for less than ten years! Regardless, I am more than happy to follow your videos and pick up tons of tips and tricks, and I think that I'm a better woodworker now for the education I've gotten from you, Marc, and a couple of others! Thanks! :-)
@@mcremona ....and I think that it's very cool that you've been able to go full-time pretty quickly! A testament to major league skills that you had to work hard to develop! As my Australian friends say, "Good on ya!" :-)
Awesome cabinet. The woodwork is incredible, but I love the sensor activated light bar inside. It may not be needed to find your tools, but it gives that sparkle.
Wow, the crouch figure doors are beautiful, the whole cabinet is beautiful, the doors are exceptional. You do beautiful work. Really enjoy your vids, very nicely done. Jack in Missouri
some effort that! I am about to embark on my first wall hung hand tool cabinet.. I think I might start slow and just create the back/initial part first, then add doors as I go :)
Great work! Anyone else notice that subtle celebration around 5:20 when the dividers fit perfect? Lol. Those moments when you get something just right and see your vision starting to take shape is an awesome feeling. Again, just great work!
I have the guild project but I still love watching the speed videos. Once again great project and highly recommend getting the guild videos. Thanks Matt
