Thank you for this great video, saved myself some money and did it myself!
I'm glad you found it helpful!
Thank you so much for posting this! The idea of putting the maintenance labels on the filter box is genius!!
Thanks a lot for this helpful video. I was stuck at using the Serpentine Tool. The long handle makes things tough. So using the Breaker Bar and the extension part on the Tensioner worked for me. Sometimes the smallest hints make the whole job work.
Thanks for making this video!
👍
The grove in the idler pulley is ware from the belt and Gates to Dorman????
Just look at it as a tune up kit after 100,000 miles.
If something is squeaky from this area when u start it. Just get this kit. And have peace of mind.
No corrosion. Must be nice.
When I bought the van it had been sitting under a tree for 13 yeas and only had 30,000 miles in it. Super clean underneath, but sitting caused it's own problems.
If you do live in high corrosion areas, be very careful. The mounting bolts will be difficult to remove. After removing the tensioner bolt and the tensioner is stuck to the block, leave it and replace the mounting bolt. You will snap the guide pin off inside the block if you try to pry it off. Change the tensioner pulley. Paint the mating surfaces of the tensioner and the bolts with antiseize before install. You can use a ratchet to loosen the bolts, but must switch to a ratcheting wrench or fingers to remove them. My tensioner guide pin snapped off inside the block when I tried to pull it off.
Did you even try penetrating oil. It does wonders on stuck pins.
Wow, great info, fortunately I did not experience it on my car. Thanks for sharing!
