You can turn your key 3 times quickly ( without starting the engine) and your error codes will be displayed on the dash, look up the code and it will tell you why the engine light came on.
I have a current problem, when maintaining a steady speed I feel small jerks and was afraid it was the torque converter. It now happens when accelerating etc now, but still no codes. More likely an engine misfire, likely cause: ignition coil pack. I ordered a new one and it is due to show up tomorrow and I will make a video, hopefully it solves the problem. This guy shows you how to display the codes.: th-cam.com/video/vyJdY4pIwB0/w-d-xo.html

Great video! Thanks for the advice on the plugs. I think it is worth the extra effort to remove the cowling in order to get to the rear plugs and while I am there, I replaced the PCV valve (on metal valve covers it screws in and on the plastic valve covers it fits in a grommet that hardens over time).

PCV is something I have sorely neglected, good move on your part! Knowing how to remove the cowling helps in so many other jobs back there, O2 sensor, heater hoses, valve cover gaskets...

I am not familiar with the 2008, that is a Fiat built motor if I am not mistaken, completely different.
