Does Fane seem like a great choice if they only gave you one character to play? So many storylines specifically just because of this game stem from him. He kinda has like Lucian making moves status.
Thank you so much for making these! I just finished my first DOS2 playthrough and your lore videos have been a great help to better understand what was going on ^^
I enjoyed discavering story of Eternals by eating fish with void. It was a great discavery as it was just a beginning of act 2 and probably can be missed by players.
Fane seems like he was meant to be the main character, even though he was apparently added later. I think its interesting how he basically learns to split the atom and the world blames him for how people misused his knowledge. A lot of characters seem to hold him responsible for the whole problem, which is equivalent to blaming Leucipus for Hiroshima.
Said that the bringing Eternal back ending does lead to Fane becoming the new master and enslaving the other races. Which for me, feels like a little bit of a let down
1st turn= Apotheosis > adrenaline > blood sac (with elf mask) > do the rest of your turn > Time skip/warp 2nd turn= skin graft (to reset cooldowns) > adrenaline > blood sac > rest of turn > time skip again 3rd turn= rest of turn Haven't seen a thing in the game that can take 3 turns back to back
Fane is a great character - and has arguably the best 'starting kit' when it comes to conversation Tags and his default Class as a Wizard. But, I find he's best played on a second or subsequent playthroughs.
you were mentioning about the canon events of DOS2. Did you already make videos about those? Something that definitely is canon: Lucian the Divine must be alive at the end, because he is alive in Divinity 2 Flames of Vengeance, which is set long after the Original Sin games.
Fane goes on a Magister murdering spree as soon as the game starts, door slamming, crate smashing, wall phasing to swallow Deathfog Barrels, and pulling a fist full of maggots midair.
Canon ending better not be *that* one. That ending is horseshit. Complete horseshit. Only ending I'll accept as canon is 'There's a new Divine who decided monstrous victories are no better than defeat and who combats the void while in search of another means to seal the veil or permanently put a stop to the Voidwoken.' Can still do all you want with that. Nice and vague, Lucian can be alive, Dallis too if they're so inclined. That said, I did a solo play as Fane where I ignored all side quests and NPC's and fully embraced the character and his conviction that this world is in shambles. Made peace with voidwoken, pledged him to the God King and brought back the Eternals to make it all right again. It was of course an evil playthrough but from his perspective, the mortals were like animals to be euthanised to bring his people back and go back to the way things were. Dark but magnificent ending. Glad they added it.
Well by the lore, the 7 are responsible by taking the source and removing the veil protection from the void. So repent from the original sin is to give it all back
- I think the Free Source would be canon. - This way they can add Void faction into the conflict and other races can have more ways to kill each other. - Also This way, Lucian can collect his power back, instead of being a sick man on a wheelchair while Dallis carries the whole empire.
"Oh, Don't Stare!"
But Sir... Your Cloak....
I reloaded like 5 times, quit to desktop etc, it just kept on 🤦
Fane: "don't stare-"
Me: "umm S I R"
@@MortismalGaming do you use omega pack? It started to me after that mod
My favorite character in my favorite game. Perfect voice acting and so wonderfully snarky.
I genuinely love you as a content creator so much. it's like you're attitude about the whole thing that's so endearing.

Fane is the best!
I'm listening this to sleep, like children getting told stories before bed.

Discovery
12:40 Wait, no. Purging every one from the source and sealing the veil ending does not bring the eternals back, they remain banished in the void

Loved the mini series, can’t wait to see what comes next!
Fane is my favorite character of DOS2 probably just in front of Lohse and Sebille.

I have a story series for every divinity game

Just finish D:OS2 as my first Divinity game, does the "original sin" in the title basically reference Fane's sin? Did that lead to this whole series?
It's left ambiguous, it's potentially what fane did or what Astarte did in the first original sin title most likely
I didn't play as him yet but he was a great companion and an amazing friend.
Your channel/voice is so soothing
You definitely need an ASMR channel 😂🫶🏻
Is there any information about who is the Fane's wife?
No, they never really elaborate on it
@@MortismalGaming Thank you for your feedback. I have read that Aeteran is the Fane's wife but i did not believe it. On reddit btw.
the cloak glitch made the video
I never did manage to fix that
Picked him as a companion over Lohse. Biggest regret I had throughout my whole playthrough.
Best skeleton boi
Cape flapping..?
aka the most and least important character at the same time
