Living armor is a great talent. A niche one, but on certain builds is very strong. It works with necromancy, and it doesn't matter at all if you are at full health or not. You convert a percentage of all damage done to magic armor for free.

I've used mnemonic on characters that get all the elemental schools, and try to have as many abilities as possible. You just get enough in each skill to use the spells, and dump the rest in polymorph for points to put in intelligence and memory, and huntsman for high ground damage multiplier. You can also combine it with summoning, especially solo, because it gives you a lot of ways to create surfaces to summon on, buff and armor for your incarnate, and spells to disable and control enemies. You lose a higher multiplier for individual elements, but it lets one character cover every element and every utility spell.
Very informative! I started a new playthrough (tactician) after 3-4 years and went with glass cannon right from the start on 3 characters. I kept beast as a tanky/utility/cc boy. In a party id say it is the most powerful talent by a mile. Consumables have a limit, the 6 AP is always there (except for the after effect of adrenaline). Fane is my main character, i have high initiative on him, so he goes first virtually all the time, disables or kills the first enemy and helps soften up the next one. If the enemy cant fight back, there is no downside. Even if some of ur characters get CCed, the extra AP on the unaffected ones outweighs the loss. I ran into trouble recently with the terror aura scarecrow, thankfully beast and his summon was able to save the day :P. Didnt know about cc prevention with armour of frost while it lasts, thats pretty dope. 3 turns of stun/frozen immunity for 1 AP? Can precast too? It's a technicality and I just rememberd it from my recent playthrough. Still a very good list and a cool video with the Memes and such ! 😄
nice little fun build I came up with utilizing some unused talents and abilities, unfortunately it only works late game and will probably lead to your death on tactician: Pick lone wolf, max retribution and the one that recovers ap after being knocked down. Put ten in warfare and one in everything that gives healing skills. Max constitution then pick talents like picture of health, living armor and five star dinner. And just let the enemies hit you. I tried it against the paladins in arx, it worked great on normal difficulty. A variation with glass canon is also possible

My friend will pick glass canon with an assassin character, start the fight, kill an long ranged enemy, and immediately teleport away with escapist. OR Pickpocket, get caught, escapist, leaving us in the fight with the traders and locals.
Elemental affinity surfaces are only a single surface benefit at a time as of the latest patch. Example: frozen blood does not provide blood and water affinity, only water because it was the last element used to create a surface.
I used glass cannon on my second playthrough with solo archer. Still beat the game pretty convincingly despite being vulnerable to cc and effects. I knew that lone wolf would be even stronger but I'd watched the videos and decided that it is too op. At least I needed to think a bit before the fights.
Yeah this vid will probably be more helpful for ones who are on their first playthrough. Once you learn game mechanics talents like Glass Cannon are way more approachable.
Thanks for this forreal came back to this game again with some friends. I realize that most of these talents aint really worth it even though on paper they sound good. Didn't even know that abilities didn't work with Guerilla and I realized sneaking is kind of bad in this game. Definitely gonna try out Five star and ambidextrous they sound way better then what I thought of myself.
Five star diner is also extremely good if you want a full tank character, which I don’t see anyone ever talking about. Potions and healing spells are garbage on a tank since it’s flat hp, but 40% HP from eating some food is absolutely massive and makes soloing the late game with a tank a breeze.
The guy is totally underestimate the "leech" talent. He must be an idiot if he actually run around gathering the blood 😂😂😂 The point is that you dont need to waste AP on active heal, as you heal for free, just beating your enemy ))
But... you're still using a talent just for healing. And you're usually going to be full hp if you have armor, and if you don't have armor enemies will cc you. Only usefulness is if you've just lost magic armor, and then you use the talent with living armor? Even then you're still gonna have to use more ap to recover armor. Just get 2 better talents lol
Five Star Diner helped me and my friend kill The Devourer. We were both extremely close to death and had no chance of killing him. Suddenly my buddy has a lightbulb moment and casts shackle of pain on the dragon. We were undead and he starts chugging large health potions. The Devourer went from over half health to dead in 3AP.
Sadist in gift bag is pretty good one if you use other gift bag features like crafting kit and so you can dip your weapon in poison AND fire so that your weapon have chance to inflict both poison and burn. And with Torturer your chance to inflict both is 100%. Start combat with bull rush to inflict bleed, poison, burn for multi enemy and then just normal attack (it hit like a truck).
I mean there are plenty of ways to make glass cannon work, it's just new players might get tricked into picking it and then regret it. So I had to warn them ig
So, with Sadist, has it been determined what the "bonus damage" it provides is? Is it an extra tick of damage added on for each of the 3 DoTs on the target, similar to Elemental Ranger? Or is it just a % damage increase to each of those damage types when attacking them? And what are the values?
I disagree with your take on living armor. It does an amazing job of keeping your magical armor topped off. Granted, you have a few points in necromancy. Great video though
Slingshot LOL... that was a good one. Call me crazy but I think in Dos1 it was actually a bit more useful? Maybe I am thinking of the talent that shot arrows further though
What's the new gift bag talent that gives 100% accuracy but kills crit? Super busted for return players who know where all the unique weapons are stashed. Level 8 character at reapers coast with a lvl 15 reavers axe... On a more serious note, i can't play this game without pawn. If i gotta use a whole 1AP to scooch over a 0.5 meter my soul cries.
Search for either "Majora's: character creation plus" or "Character Creation Unlocked" on steam workshop for dos2. There are also other cosmetic mods. For example "Majora's Fashion sins" and "Rendal's NPC armors and weapons". Just read the mod description thoroughly so that you won't miss any required files/software if needed.
Duck duck goose is great on any finesse character. Escapist is the ultimate cheese next to telekinesis. If 2 people have escapist you can have infinite turns.
imo Duck Duck Goose is pointless cause you can easily mitigate opportunity attacks and thus it's a waste of talent points. Escapist tho might be used for cheesing ye, it's just the video was already too long and adding all possible combos and tactics would easily make the video twice as long.
@@Nazatur also crazy you think the pawn is a filler talent. Either way i enjoyed the vid and only posted this so new players could see it and think for themselves
@@morioh6623Prolly because there's a lot of mobility options in the game; And you can use that talent slot to instead buff the range of your mobility skill, rather than 1 free AP for movement.
I cried like Leya during Indomitable part! When is Gareth coming back? :( Intro is on point, good job. Whose idea was it? I remember on the 1st playthrough i resurrected a lot during combat and appreciated Morning Person, while it wasn't even high difficulty, so to me it was a pretty good talent since my understanding of the game wasn't good enough to utilize other ones.
Gareth will come back. He always does. The idea about intro section came up to me when I was taking a dump. But yeah about this whole video: it's very subjective. Some people used certain talents which helped them a lot during the 1st playthrough. I've just tried to point at the weaknesses and bad sides of specific talents so that people can come to conclusions by themselves. The problem was to be as objective as possible on this subjective topic. Hence it took so long to write a script for this video.
Thank your for this wealth of knowledge I play on console and I had a question about sabotage and mass sabotage. Mainly how can I put items into someone’s inventory I see the drag and click but haven’t managed to do it on controller.
Thanks for watching! Sadly, I've never played on a console. Maybe there's a button you can press which opens up your inventory while you're stealing. Or perhaps there's an option in the settings which allows you to do that.

The sallow man offers to get yourself sworn if you bring him the head of alexander and kill all your other teammates, can I get the extra talents this way ?
@@Nazatur I don't remember the exact details, but use one of the mirrors dropped by the black ring on the nameless isle, accept to kill Alexander, kill him, bring his head to the sallow man. He offers to get sworn on the condition that you kill your whole party and then prevent them to be resurrected with an item he gives. The only time I killed Alexander before the sallow man it was in a multiplayer playthrough so we declined and I therefore don't know if you get the talents sworning this way

For some reason my torturer talent only increases the status effect by one turn, no ignore armour or anything. Even in the description it says it will only increase effect by one turn. What’s going on?
Not at all. Lone wolf works perfectly well with summons. The talent only cares about the amount of characters/heroes in your team. So if you have more than two, then it doesn't work. So you can easily have 2 characters with whatever builds they have and both of them can learn Lone Wolf.
Five star diner doubles the effectiveness of all potions. You can easily check it by saving the game before picking up the talent and doing a quick test. Check the battlelog (crossed swords icon)
Man playing BG3 then going to DOS2 is killing me i keep using my BG3 strats. Like talenting into opportunity attacks thinking it stops movement like it does in BG3 or using characters to try to sneak and realizing cones of vision cant be avoided at all
I really agreed with a lot of them, but completely disagree about Escapist, it is one of the most broken talents in the game if you use it to abuse the action economy. With high wits, you can go first in the vast majority of fights, escape to not be in any danger, then re enter the fight on the same turn. It becomes way stupider with multiple characters having the talent because you can easily just take infinite turns on the same round. It's actually so busted as to not be fun so we usually just ban people from being able to pick it in our 4 player campaigns.
One of my favourite builds is putting all points into constitution and retribution and taking five star dinner, then in combat just eating dinners which heals 40% of max hp and just being a human punching bag :D
I was using "Majora's: character creation plus". Just read the mod description thoroughly so that you won't miss any required files/software if needed. Sadly after recent updates some cosmetics were replaced.
Pretty good overvew, except you are underselling glass cannon waaaaay too hard. It is by far the best talent in the game (from a build optimisation perspective). If you want to make your party as strong as possible, every char should have glass cannon. The downside is easily mittigated by the fact that if your party is built correctly, the enemies wil not get turns. There are a couple of exceptions to that because sometimes emeies cheat and steal your turns (persuasion check fight on blood island, act 4 bridge fight and sometimes kraken if the animation glitches). In those cases, you can spec out of it for one fight. The doctor doesn't cheat, but gets 1000 initiative when he transforms so he always goes first, however he has no cc skills iirc, so prebuffing solves that problem. If you are only interested in building your chars as efficiently as possible, every char should take glass cannon, executioner, elemental mastery, savage sortilege and hothead (even melee chars want to use spells in the late game; archers would be the only exception, but there are no good talents for them anyway). edit: Also, lone wolf is effectively the same talent as glass cannon. The bonus stats/abilities are only relevant in the early game as the cap remains the same, while hp and armour don't matter. The only significant bonus is that you can now pre-buff haste for an extra AP. There is no universe in which this makes up for 2 extra party members, 4 man party is still the storngest/easiest, assuming you pick glass cannon on everyone.
Sup, my goal wasn't to give people a min-maxed "optimized" review. Otherwise I could've just end the video on the 5th minute mark by saying "those x,y and z talents are strongest ones, everything else is trash" -> roll the credits. If the video had the title of "how to create the strongest party in the game" or "the best builds" then I'd agree. I don't want to take the agency from the players as much as possible, don't want to narrow their vision on a certain playstyle. (Although probably I was biased towards certain talents and it slipped in the video). The idea was "hey this is the talent, this is what it does and what it might do. Go figure our the application on your own". Because again, there are so many variables and compositions that we can disagree on this topic forever. Some people would say, why bother with 4 glass cannons if you can barrelmancy everything without breaking a sweat. Some would say, well why bother with that, if you can be doing solo invis + delay to cruise through the game. Some would say, why bother with max AP on 4 characters if you have 2 LW with double stats and skill points which will allow you to end fights much faster due to the damage numbers differences. Some people would say that by using and Elf with a prebuffed Haste you're already at max ap and thus Glass Cannon is redundant. But again that wasn't the point of the video. Thanks for the comment tho.
@@Nazatur I wasn't criticizing the fact that you gave a detailed description of every talent, that was great. My only problem was that you severely underrated GC, which is by far the strongest talent in the game, only savage sortilege comes close to it. LW is only slightly better than GC for the char taking it, for the reasons I already explained - the downside of GC is not nearly as bad as you make it sound because of how easiy it is to cc every enemy before it gets a turn and the upsides of LW are either irrelevant (armour and hp don't matter if you don't let enemies move) or only matter before lvl 10-ish (stats are still capped, you just get to the cap faster with LW). On the other hand, having 2 extra chars is a huge advantage. After you get skin graft, it amounts to 16+ extra AP that can be used to cast 4 extra teleports/swaps, 4 extra nukes like pyroclastic/grasp and cover a larger area in massive fights. Moreover, if you have 2 chars, both of them have to be able to do damage and nothing else. With 4, you can still have 2-3 chars that do damage, plus 1-2 chars with high memory and initiative who can jump around and teleport/web enemies to set up aoe nukes. My comment on the "optimal" talent build was more of a tl;dr for the sake of anyone looking for ppl who come to a video just to find quick info on what to take for their first tactician run or if they keep losing fights because of bad builds. It wasn't a criticism towards you, it's cool to experiment and you need detailed information on all talents to do so.

Pickpocket, get caught, escapist, leaving us in the fight with the traders and locals.
yea there are a lot of different uses for niche talents
Has anyone ever calculated how many times they have missed with a 95% chance to hit? I don't believe it's 50%.
according to xcom logic it is
Elemental affinity surfaces are only a single surface benefit at a time as of the latest patch. Example: frozen blood does not provide blood and water affinity, only water because it was the last element used to create a surface.
this is gold
Thanks
Yeah most of the talents are mediocre at best and there are only a few game changing ones, but it's still a great game. So enjoy you playthrough.
He must be an idiot if he actually run around gathering the blood 😂😂😂
The point is that you dont need to waste AP on active heal, as you heal for free, just beating your enemy ))
But... you're still using a talent just for healing.
Another great aspect of Five Course Dinner that wasn’t covered: you can with food items, and basically like three apples fills your health at back up.
Petpal is also a necessity for Min maxing XP. Anyone can just switch it out for the initial talent they want after completing petpal quests.
True
I just use the Gift Bag that gives it by default to everyone. Huge quality of life improvement.
Aye yo, this dancing dog got me rolling.
Glass cannon + executioner + adrenaline (+potions of stone skin/ strong will) = lone wolf light AKA no room for errors mode.
(prob not good though XD)
I mean there are plenty of ways to make glass cannon work, it's just new players might get tricked into picking it and then regret it. So I had to warn them ig
cool video bro
thanks
I have 2 eyes, so I immediately subscribe.
Hell yeah. You're the first one who noticed :)
So, with Sadist, has it been determined what the "bonus damage" it provides is? Is it an extra tick of damage added on for each of the 3 DoTs on the target, similar to Elemental Ranger? Or is it just a % damage increase to each of those damage types when attacking them? And what are the values?
It's a 10% increase.
^
I may have to make some changes on some of my characters.
Just don't be discouraged by biased dos2 youtubers and streamers. Everything works if you're having fun
Living armor + torturer + necromancer = constant healing and magic armor, all be it small amounts but spread the fire and poison and it'll stack up
I think opportunist is great for the first two acts and then replace out as the enemy gets more abilities.
I disagree with your take on living armor. It does an amazing job of keeping your magical armor topped off. Granted, you have a few points in necromancy. Great video though
Thanks! Yeah, videos like that are always subjective. A lot of things will vary based on the personal experience ig
Slingshot LOL... that was a good one. Call me crazy but I think in Dos1 it was actually a bit more useful? Maybe I am thinking of the talent that shot arrows further though
I think even with arrows this talent wouldn't do that much. Especially when there are so many jumping abilities in the game
wow ambidex working with 2h weapons is actually huge
ye it's easily overlooked
What's the new gift bag talent that gives 100% accuracy but kills crit? Super busted for return players who know where all the unique weapons are stashed.
Level 8 character at reapers coast with a lvl 15 reavers axe...
On a more serious note, i can't play this game without pawn. If i gotta use a whole 1AP to scooch over a 0.5 meter my soul cries.
May i ask how can you have so many custom faces for your main characters because I'm fed up with the current pictures
This breakdance wolf is noice 😂
@@morioh6623 all good, thanks for watching
@@Nazatur thanks for posting the content! I havnt played in 2ish years and some of my buddies just got the game. Nice to see your fresh perspective.
@@morioh6623Prolly because there's a lot of mobility options in the game; And you can use that talent slot to instead buff the range of your mobility skill, rather than 1 free AP for movement.
I cried like Leya during Indomitable part! When is Gareth coming back? :(
Intro is on point, good job.
Dude i make fane disguise as a dwarf when i teleport him and i say... toss me... im dying here already 😂
My boy DOS2 videos doing numbers yet ain't not one mthfer subscribing.. Give the man his support.

Np sir thank you for the reply.
I think u can donate it to them while your stealing maybe? Pretty sure u can donate to them in just a normal convo
th-cam.com/video/qNVLf9XVJYs/w-d-xo.html
@@coreyano That is correct, you do the sabo combo by entering sneaking and then reverse pickpocketing. The person had the problem not with how to do the combo in general, but with how to do it in the console version of the game.
@@Nazatur right. I play on pc but with a controller. I thought i might be in same situationbut maybe not. Good video by the way
Living armor is very fun with melee necro character
The sallow man offers to get yourself sworn if you bring him the head of alexander and kill all your other teammates, can I get the extra talents this way ?
I'm not aware of that, sadly
@@Nazatur I don't remember the exact details, but use one of the mirrors dropped by the black ring on the nameless isle, accept to kill Alexander, kill him, bring his head to the sallow man. He offers to get sworn on the condition that you kill your whole party and then prevent them to be resurrected with an item he gives. The only time I killed Alexander before the sallow man it was in a multiplayer playthrough so we declined and I therefore don't know if you get the talents sworning this way
@@grandengineernathan I'll try to check that during my next playthrough, cause it's pretty interesting.
@@grandengineernathan dam. I forgot about that. O definitely want to slaughter all my party members. I gotta go do that. I hope he's doesn't just give me 2 extra tags... Great now I'm a barbarian scholar soldier outcast
For some reason my torturer talent only increases the status effect by one turn, no ignore armour or anything. Even in the description it says it will only increase effect by one turn. What’s going on?
does playing a summoner (particularly necro) make lone wolf not work?
Not at all. Lone wolf works perfectly well with summons. The talent only cares about the amount of characters/heroes in your team. So if you have more than two, then it doesn't work. So you can easily have 2 characters with whatever builds they have and both of them can learn Lone Wolf.
do 5-star dinner apply to poison heal for undead?
Five star diner doubles the effectiveness of all potions. You can easily check it by saving the game before picking up the talent and doing a quick test. Check the battlelog (crossed swords icon)
haha nice video 😁
Thanks
Man playing BG3 then going to DOS2 is killing me i keep using my BG3 strats. Like talenting into opportunity attacks thinking it stops movement like it does in BG3 or using characters to try to sneak and realizing cones of vision cant be avoided at all
It's a different game, but it's also great in its own way
I really agreed with a lot of them, but completely disagree about Escapist, it is one of the most broken talents in the game if you use it to abuse the action economy. With high wits, you can go first in the vast majority of fights, escape to not be in any danger, then re enter the fight on the same turn. It becomes way stupider with multiple characters having the talent because you can easily just take infinite turns on the same round. It's actually so busted as to not be fun so we usually just ban people from being able to pick it in our 4 player campaigns.
ye that's what I mentioned in short words at the end of Escapist description
Hello! Very good videos so far, any chance you might delve into recommended mods? :)
Sup, thanks. I was planning on finishing the guide series with my next video, but I had an idea to make an additional one for mods. So we will see.
Wait, you can select where your companion revives?
Algorithm's comment
good job btw
Hey, thanks aight
29:10 why is shrek there
The man is built to be the next divine
I see Naz, I click like
Good
One of my favourite builds is putting all points into constitution and retribution and taking five star dinner, then in combat just eating dinners which heals 40% of max hp and just being a human punching bag :D
Ambidextrous is pretty broken. 1 ap teleports are no joke
Yeah, the talent is overlooked by many players despite it being very good
50% fire resist times 2. +4 wit carrots times 2... Oh shit, I'm thinking bout 5 start diner. Forget it.
1AP charm and tremor grenades away!
what is aura around the lizard at 9:06 ?
Permanent "Death Wish" from "An Maflin" shield, if I'm not wrong
What did you do eo tha poor woolf?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
How did you get shrek in your party
Cosmetic mods. Many mods are discussed in my "Mods guide" vid. You can find a list of links to them and a brief explanation of what those mods do.
Naz aka Demigod Gamer ask (beg) me to come here and comment , 1.25 speed its better it save you time , peace , Jin out !
Which cosmetic mod is that?
I was using "Majora's: character creation plus". Just read the mod description thoroughly so that you won't miss any required files/software if needed. Sadly after recent updates some cosmetics were replaced.
@@Nazatur thanks!
If your main character has Five Star Diner, does it apply that effect to the entire party?
No, only to the character who has the talent
I guess the video is okay, but what I *really* care about is the Shrek head.
Okayge
hey sneaking during battle ain't that bad, i stole gazillion worth of resources from it
Pretty good overvew, except you are underselling glass cannon waaaaay too hard.
Aight, fair enough
Good comment and reply. We're all busters in the eyes of the speed runners
Almost all talents recommended by the author - are useless trash! GJ ))
