Same. I cracked the screen on my 6+, so I got a refurbished replacement, and few months later this problem started. So I had to buy a new phone. I got the SE as a temporary phone.
***** No not really, my phone was out of warranty as well and the SE is better in every way except screen size. Plus it's a lot cheaper and not as bendy. Just hoping iPhone 7 doesn't have this problem.
that sucks. but btw, the phone isn't refurbished. its a like new phone made from new and/or refurbished parts. but the phone itself has never been used by another person -> fixed -> then repackaged.
Thanks for the information. Started on my 1.5 year old iPhone 6+ today. I suspected this was a known issue and you confirmed that. I have been a huge promoter of Apple products and this is making rethink my position if Apple is not acknowledging this as a know defect. Sounds pervasive to me.
wow, banned for telling us about this defect? that never happens in Android forums. I fixed my brother's phone through forums and they shouldn't hide this information to us, because it helps us fix the problem. if Apple wants their products to improve, let us help with their problems, that what would Steve Jobs do: listen to customer complaints.
With "antenna-gate" that came along with the iPhone 4 (the device would drop service if held in a certain position) Jobs recognised this was an issue and brought it up in a keynote stating that Apple isn't perfect. Apple even gave everyone with an iPhone 4 a free case to help the issue.

my aunt just switched from the iphone 4 to the s5 neo and she's loving it. she's really enjoying the screen size and camera and now getting used to the OS, but so far so good she said lol but i do agree, me as an android user for life, say the iphone 4/4s is a nice phone as it's a nice size for those who like compact... 5/5s/5 se is also nice.
With a reflow that basically just heats up the chip which can re-establish older connections in it. However, reflowing a chip that is bent because the phone has been bent won't fix it. The only reason why it works on Mac GPUs is because of the extreme heat. It really shouldn't work for anything.

No the 6 and 6 Plus models. They fixed this issue on the 6S and 6S Plus with that shield and also making the body of the phone stronger so you don't lift the chip from the board when you sit on it. Pay attention.

lmao they absolutely should not replace every iphone 6 plus with iphone 6s plus. that's not even reasonable. What is reasonable is that they should replaced any affected iphone 6 plus model with another iphone 6 plus.
"They can take the financial hit" You seem to be forgetting that Apple is a public, *for profit* company. They have the responsibility to shareholders to try and make money.
This video is spot on. I had this happen to my 6plus and had to claim $175 insurance. I get the refurbished device or of the box and it had the same exact problem. I took this one back to the carrier and claimed warranty the same day. I get the third iPhone 6plus and it is also showing signs. I immediately took the third phone to the carrier to trade it in before I was stuck with it. I traded the phone in for a Samsung s7 edge. I've been on iPhone for about a decade. not anymore.

We love her for speaking the truth ... I just received a iPhone 6 plus with the same issues i will be going to her website to place a order ... Send in the mail ....
It’s true about the Apple forum ban. Apple has full control over that forum and they definitely routinely ban post which reveal their known errors. My comments were banned too. I own an IPhone 6. I’m using iOS 11. I believe select iPhones contain a defective CPU. I’m currently experiencing random restarting of my phone and excessive battery drain. Of course my warranty is conveniently expired. However, I believe Apple is aware of the defective iPhones. I feel Apple should be held liable for their defective products.
Thank you, very to the point and informative! The audio could use work, as it sounded slight tinny so I suggest using EQing it slightly and using noise reduction, compression and then normalise. But as I said, Great video!
Closer to like $140, according to published info, but yeah. Same idea. I guess if you figure in the cost of convenience, software, & security though... Almost kind of worth it. Can one be part of modern society though and be without such a "luxury" though? It's Apple or android though and I prefer the more organic approach. Personally.
My iPhone 6 also shut off suddenly few days back. While the sound is coming, the display is still dark. I tried a soft reboot but now the phone won't even turn on. I wonder whether it's because of this Touch IC issue? 🤔
Yup, happened to me also. The problem is my phone is out of the warranty and none of the stores where I live (Portugal) are able to fix it. What solutions do I have left to fix my phone? Can I send to you? idk
i got the same issue on my iPhone 6 plus after using it for almost a year and half. The moment it first occurred on my iPhone I new it's not a software issue it's a manufacturing defect and the only reason I came to know why this happened to me is because I often used to change different cases on my phone but the worst fact was that there is no apple care in my country + the 1 year local warranty was also expired by the time I got this issue luckily I was able to sell my iPhone to a store without letting him know about the defect on a good price and got myself the s7 edge. So my opinion to the people who's still using the iPhone 6/6+ sell your phone back or get a rugged case and make sure you don't often take your phone out of the case
This is the last Apple device I will own (6S), I now use Google Drive, Google Contacts, Google Photos, and my computer is a Ubuntu. I am done with Apple, my next phone will be a Nexus.
My old iPhone 6 has this problem too! and its out of warranty, so I thought it's the screen issue at first, but even after I changed my screen, the problem still presist. Thus my money spend on the new screen gone just like that. Sad
Yup happened to me, I found that bending and flexing the phone fixed it for a minute but then it went back to having that problem long story short I had to replace the whole motherboard because no one at the time knew why this was happening.
This was my iPhone 6+ after about a year. It got so bad that I had to get a new iPhone a few months ago. I got the iPhone SE as a temporary phone tell a new iPhone comes out hopefully without this problem.
***** Have you ever bought an iPhone? If not then it is you who is a sheep. I have had Android phones and tablets in the past and have found that I like ios better.
I have the 6 plus and it slightly twisted with normal use which is pretty sad as I spent so much money on it. Sometimes I do lose my touch function but I haven't gotten that white bar at the top, I'm afraid it'll happen and Apple won't help me. What do I do?
This exact thing happened to my 6 plus. I sent it back to apple and they said they would replace it but instead of replacing it with a 6 plus they replaced it with a regular 6...twice. Finally after they actually shipped me a replacement 6 plus they gave me $150 credit for their mistakes which left me phone less for like 2 months.
I have this issue that the touch stops responding several times a day, but there is no grey bar on the top, does my phone have the same issue you mentioned in the video? Mine is 6+ Thanks!
For what it's worth, metal shielding is typically an electrical consideration for electromagnetic compliance. Structural support is not as much of a consideration, and I can see how a flaw like this would slip through the design review, considering it took so long to appear. By the time the problem became prevalent, it was likely not worth changing it but rather continuing development on the next line.
I have an iPhone 5S. For me, I have vertical lines running up and down which I think is an LED problem. But on the right side of the screen, I can't tap anything that there's a line over. So I can't type p's, quotation marks, etc. It also starts tapping things on the line FOR me, so I get random letters jumpbled up into my message. I have to turn my device on and off to stop it. Is this also the Touch IC Disease?
Just had this issue today. Flickering top part of the iphone and screen would not work when touched. The solution might currently be temporary but I solved it by restarting the iphone several times and tilted it in a number of directions when using the touch screen. It returned back to full functionality after that. Scared me for a bit.
not for me, I've had a few androids now and each one kinda turns to shit after a year, two I've had are unusable now for no reason at all other than heavy use i suppose? but I remember i had an iPod touch (4th gen) for 5 years used it everyday constantly and it never had any problems
Jared Diaz so what... not every country is murika or nazi germany, go live in china whit less then 250 dollars a mounth and see what youre able to buy, but im guessing youre nothing more then a mommas boy, where youre parents buy you everything,so stop behing a bitch , not all of us fall for the trend of brnading or whats trendy ,some of us actually now whats good, not alll the expensive crap last for eternety , a good nokia 3310 still kicks ass to any smartphone on durability and resistence...so do me a fovor and stfu
Good old BGA, ball grid array, IC technology. I remember reflowing these chips on old Motorola Pagers back in the 90s! Your points are well taken that Apple has engineered a ridiculously think phone prone to end user physical damage. I think this is the primary reason for the change over from the the metal shield to the sticker shied is for being able to make a thinner device, secondary cheaper production cost and third quicker installation by person on a sticker than soldering on a cage shield. I not sure I completely agree that the BGA chips need to be replaced. I could take an Ungar heat gun and reflow those IC and likely get 100% functionality and I know this because I did hundreds of thousands piece of this kind of work back in the day. The time you had to replace the chip was when the IC package was actually physically damaged and cracked. However happy to see this information freely being publicized for the masses to have a good education of whats causing such failures.
An easy fix is to put some folded up electrical tape the size of the 2 chips, and a place it on top of the 2 touch chips/sensors and then just cover it up again with the sticker shield
I have a iPhone 6 and the line is at the bottom of the screen it copies the top of the screen and if I let it rest for a while it goes away then I click the power button and turn it back up the line gets bigger what can I do ?
I actually have had this issue with both of my iPhone 6 Plus models I kept getting the screen replaced with the same issue. I then did a phone claim and got a replacement phone though my mobile provider NOT APPLE! Apple needs to do something.
I thought I was the only one with this problem, and that I was doing something horribly wrong! I went through three iPhone 6+ in half a year; all suddenly began having this problem and the Apple store kept replacing it. I got so fed up (also with the buggy UI) I returned to an iOS 6 iPhone 5... none of these problems! What a shame.
my 6 plus died due exactly to this problem and Apple completely does not acknowledge this issue and wanted me to pay for a new phone, I had no choice but to trade it in as a broken device to another place. This has completely changed my positive view of Apple products and customer service. Apple needs to respect their customers who spend more about $900 per phone every couple years. I don't want to buy any Apple products after this.
Another quality build brought you by Apple.Inc, this is not a "design flaw" or "planned obsolescence" it is actually a new "feature" that tell you when it is time to upgrade your phone. Another way Apple shows how much they care about their customers., and their commitment to innovate and revolutionize the hardware industry.
Hi iFixit, I would really appreciate you reply and helping me with a problem I have been experiencing. I've reply the full LCD screen and the thermal metal shield on my iPhone 6 Plus. I then put my original home button in, the one with Touch ID. Touch ID works when the screen is hanging off the phone and not pushed into place, but as soon as the screen pops in, Touch ID stops working? Would you please help me resolve the issue
Ok so after receiving an iPhone 6plus for someone sending it to me 1 for suffering blank screen and 2 touch not functioning , upon inspection I could see the LCD fpc connector had suffered damage due to forced pressure where someone's tried fitting a replacement LCD, so once I replaced this I had display back happy days but further into testing still found touch would not work no matter what so I replaced touch ic but to no avail still no touch available my question to you is are you aware of what else could be the cause of touch not working ? I've checked the touch connector that's in like new condition traced back and checked all the tracks they are fine so I'm stumped as to what's stopping the touch from working
My friend has this issue on his 6 (granted he did throw it across the room as fast as he could and it's REALLY bent. Barely fits in a case and you can see in between the screen and the chassis. ) Still works though, he just presses on the top left of the phone and it goes away for a while. lol
Interesting video! I have an 18-month old 6 (not 6 Plus). I get the feeling that this problem is more prevalent on 6 Plus than on 6. Can anyone comment on that?
It's ridiculous! Out of warrantee means it's our fault? Apple should acknowledge this issue officially and either get it replaced or fix it for free.!!! ANYONE WHO CAN HELP OR SUGGEST HOW TO FIX THAT FLICKERING THING IN THE TOP OF THE SCREEN AND UNRESPONSIBLE TOUCH!
i hav a karbonn android 4.1 tab bought in2012, worked great till now, even replaced its 8in digitizer myself. Now it randomly any time touch feeds itself to anything on the screen_have enabled screen touch feedback, so i see the touch points.. if i even disconnected the digitizer connection still problem remains, so can't use a use a usb otg mouse also.,pls help.
My iPhone 6 is stuck on on the screen to restarting and turns off then back on constantly, I have tried to restore it but it just gets stuck there all over again
Not so much of a problem in the UK. Where the law allows for warranty claims for up to six years on durable goods, if it can be demonstrated that a defect was present at manufacture or that the defect was very likely to occur after manufacture, as result of the design itself. In the rest of Europe, consumers have two years to exercise this right. I believe that U.S. consumers only have 90 days - that's quite a difference.
Interesting! I've been an iPhone user since the 3G and everyone that knows me could tell you that the iPhone 6 Plus was the first iPhone that I said "sucked."Every iPhone before this one (still using AN* iPhone 6 Plus as of this writing) was solid. That said, I pre-ordered the iPhone 6 Plus and picked it up on day one.Slowly but surely, I started to realize how much that iPhone was flawed.I replaced the first one with a "refurb" (although Apple would never call it a "refurb").Shortly thereafter, the 2nd was replaced. Then the 3rd was replaced. Then came the fourth, and I received the forth iP6+ around July-Aug., 2015. That iP6+ had this very screen flicker - always the grey "flash" from the top of the screen - as shown on this video ON THE FIRST DAY I BROUGHT IT HOME! I called the Apple Store the next day and they said to bring it in promptly.I brought it in immediately and the woman that helped me said "oh yeah, some of the devices have had this very issue - we're aware of it being a common issue and we replace them." That's it! No testing or verifying my issues like the iP6+ 1, 2, or 3 - just replace immediately! So I, for one, can vouch that this issue, according to one Apple Store rep's statement, that this issue has been KNOWN by Apple since at least one year ago.*I'm now on iP6+ number 5, but this one has been closest to all previous iPhone experiences and has restored a little faith in Apple & Co.Steve-O-meter is surely tapped by now though. I'm worried for the future. I'll go back to Nokia, Thomas guide maps, hand-held GPS, and a point & shoot cam before I go "droid."
i didn't know what error 53 was before but not that i know it sounds like bs to me. But this! This is an engineering flaw. So much for the "simple apple experience" of "If i get an iphone i know it'll just work.".
I'm on an iPhone 6 and I haven't encountered this issue. It's weird that Apple doesn't take the money to use better hardware given how much they charge for the iPhone.
They need you to replace your phone in a year or two. Apple has been doing for a while because they know if someone buys an iPhone, they are probably gullible enough to buy another. My products are planned like this.
The amount of technical prowess is fantastic. Not only they can replace a soldered down chip, but they add a metal shield as well. Very nice.
BTW I have a great deal of respect for these technicians as I have spent years in the same seat repairing surface mount electronics. Thanks for openly sharing your videos!
Holy crap! My girlfriend's phone just started doing this a couple weeks ago. This was a refurbished replacement from them too.
Same. I cracked the screen on my 6+, so I got a refurbished replacement, and few months later this problem started. So I had to buy a new phone. I got the SE as a temporary phone.
EdG713 Did you try to get another replacement? I've considered trying even though her phone is maybe 1 month or so out of their 90 day warranty.
*****
No not really, my phone was out of warranty as well and the SE is better in every way except screen size.
Goorpijp Wessel Probably not, no..
What's with Apple's fixation on thinness? Thin is bad. Thin is weak.
Thanks for the information. Started on my 1.5 year old iPhone 6+ today. I suspected this was a known issue and you confirmed that. I have been a huge promoter of Apple products and this is making rethink my position if Apple is not acknowledging this as a know defect. Sounds pervasive to me.
So, Apple is using cheaper/less material to save like what? 10 cent per $ 800 phone?! Way to go...
no they save a dollar on a $200 device which then they sell for $800
$0.10 x 321.22 million (number of iPhone sold from the release of the iPhone 6 and prior to the release of the iPhone 6S) = $32,122,000 savings.
They save about $32 million. :)
Ilusiion3 Good for them, almost filing for bankruptcy because they have so less money, right?
It's about weight, not cost.
wow, banned for telling us about this defect? that never happens in Android forums. I fixed my brother's phone through forums and they shouldn't hide this information to us, because it helps us fix the problem. if Apple wants their products to improve, let us help with their problems, that what would Steve Jobs do: listen to customer complaints.
steve jobs wouldn't let a problem like this happen. if it did a shitton of engineers would be fired
With "antenna-gate" that came along with the iPhone 4 (the device would drop service if held in a certain position) Jobs recognised this was an issue and brought it up in a keynote stating that Apple isn't perfect. Apple even gave everyone with an iPhone 4 a free case to help the issue.
Spherox antenna gate was because Jobs thought nobody held it like that. this is just shit engineering. Jobs is a perfectionist.
Apple hates transparency apparently.
I don't know whether you've read the biography, or if you did and just don't remember too well, but jobs was commonly of the opinion that he was right and the customer was wrong. That customers couldn't know what they wanted or needed until he sold it to them.

I'm still using my iphone 4s. When this baby breaks, i'm switching to android.
coincidentally, I had a 4S myself and then switched to android for a few years already
don't worry apple will soon make ur phone slow as shit and stop supporting most of your apps
Good choice man
haha 4s is a great phone. mine got water damage years ago, switched to android, never looked back. waiting for my note 7 :) too bad it's backorder...
my aunt just switched from the iphone 4 to the s5 neo and she's loving it. she's really enjoying the screen size and camera and now getting used to the OS, but so far so good she said lol
but i do agree, me as an android user for life, say the iphone 4/4s is a nice phone as it's a nice size for those who like compact... 5/5s/5 se is also nice.
Sorry if i missed something, but why does the chip need to be replaced? Wouldn't a reball work just as well since broken solder ball were the culprit?
i was thinking same if are broken solder just with reaply work. same as any other electronic part. well there is the failure fact instead.
With a reflow that basically just heats up the chip which can re-establish older connections in it. However, reflowing a chip that is bent because the phone has been bent won't fix it. The only reason why it works on Mac GPUs is because of the extreme heat. It really shouldn't work for anything.
Planned Obsolescence
the chip connections oxidize, reducing the constructiveness and making it inoperable.
Indeed. The cure is to buy an iPhone 7. Something will go wrong with this just in time for the launch of the $1500 iPhone 8.
Oh look. All the iPhones are breaking right before the iPhone7 comes out. Hmmmmm.
Apple=underplayed workers who often are driven to the point of jumping off the roof of the factory. Cheep parts. Lazy shortcuts. Censorship of problems. And worst of all, there loyal army of sheep who will buy the same overpriced phone with two year old tech inside every year.

Michael Coleman They did have a recall for phones that were sold in a timeframe of August-September or something like that.
if Steve Jobs came back. the whole company will be fire
I'll text him
FaceTime is probably more reliable.
Me too, only iPhone4 cause it'll be more reliable, in terms of the text reaching him
+Big Daddy If Steve Jobs came back, all hell would break loose. :-)
Hard to do when he is dead...

You win
The only defect is the 6 not using 7000 series alluminum
+Republic Thunderstreak and it bends
That happened to my old 6 plus. It was awful. The whole screen would flash grey bars. The phone would do its own things. Open apps send texts etc, went to Apple and they replaced the phone for free.
was it under one year warranty?
N8 Worth was it under warranty ?
I have this problem but It doesn't have the grey bar
Ez game Ez Life sameeee
The fact that Jessa has been banned when she makes reference to this design flaw, Apple is just trying to hide their cost cutting screw ups instead of admitting the issue and giving helpful tips.
I've heard Louis Rossman talk about this.
Rossman remained a modest man
my prediction from several months ago will come true!
Louis Rossmann Hopefully this will raise awareness for the issue. I've already found this video on a few (German) tech sites.
+Louis Rossmann You're the best! :D I love your videos even though I would never have the patience for the highly detailed board repair work you do. Building a nice gaming rig is fun enough for me.

1) It seems there is a weakness in the design of the iPhone 6/6plus that you point out which leads to the potential failure of the hardware.
1a) Bad on Apple for banning you when you've posted on the Apple Forum pointing out this issue.
1b) Bad on Apple for not addressing this issue in light of the numerous instances of this failure in their hardware.
1c) As this seems to be tied hand in hand with the BendGate issue for the iPhone 6/6plus - We should realize that it's wise not to carry your Cellular Phone no matter the brand in your back pocket and sit down it especially when it's large and thin. This is not good long term wise for any cell phone not matter the brand when it's large and thin.

My iphone 6 plus doesnt have that grey bar but the screen stops working sometimes when i turn it on
We love her for speaking the truth ...
So basically that 600$ phone was build like 60$ phone...
Closer to like $140, according to published info, but yeah. Same idea. I guess if you figure in the cost of convenience, software, & security though... Almost kind of worth it.
Can one be part of modern society though and be without such a "luxury" though? It's Apple or android though and I prefer the more organic approach. Personally.
Does the 6s and 6s plus made like the 6, i.e. Sticker cover and no cured anchor? If it is? Why don't they have the same issue?
My iPhone 6 also shut off suddenly few days back. While the sound is coming, the display is still dark. I tried a soft reboot but now the phone won't even turn on. I wonder whether it's because of this Touch IC issue? 🤔
lovely useful message. Thank you so much.. now i know the route cause so trying to get my issue fixed without £149. lets see what happens.
I want ipadrehab to be my teacher! I love this lady! o.o
Yup, happened to me also. The problem is my phone is out of the warranty and none of the stores where I live (Portugal) are able to fix it. What solutions do I have left to fix my phone? Can I send to you? idk
i have a 6+ i have this problem ,how much would a repair like this cost at a iPhone repair place or..???
i got the same issue on my iPhone 6 plus after using it for almost a year and half.
No one cares...you are not some all-powerful consumer. Keep that shit to yourself moron.
Great choice! I have a 6p and absolutely love it.
Good choice
What Daniel said, love my 6P - especially with Nougat!
👍
My old iPhone 6 has this problem too! and its out of warranty, so I thought it's the screen issue at first, but even after I changed my screen, the problem still presist. Thus my money spend on the new screen gone just like that. Sad
Yup happened to me, I found that bending and flexing the phone fixed it for a minute but then it went back to having that problem long story short I had to replace the whole motherboard because no one at the time knew why this was happening.
so if were to buy an iPhone 6 plus today, I'm planning on it, would using a heavy duty case avoid the effects of touch disease
Ball Grid Array Or BGA is the correct terminology for the chips attachment method onto the logic board.
*****
Very smart and intelligent point! you convinced me so I'm going to buy a windows phone. Thanks.
Baaaaaa
+EdG713 the iPhone 7 comes out in September
Will this happen if I use a rigid hard case and don't carry it in my back pocket?
I have this issue that the touch stops responding several times a day, but there is no grey bar on the top, does my phone have the same issue you mentioned in the video?
Mine is 6+
Thanks!
I worked on lots of iPhone 6 and 6 pluses and have never seen this problem. I have two 6 pluses still here and they are over 2 years old. No issues.
this is really cool, thanks for making the video.
This happened to my phone. I opened it up and checked the screen. When I put it back together, my screen just remained black. Sucks so much.
Why did you put her on half the screen and fill the other half with nothing?
I have this problem at nearly 3 years in.
René Wuttke it just started happening to me today
Great video and very well presented information.
For what it's worth, metal shielding is typically an electrical consideration for electromagnetic compliance. Structural support is not as much of a consideration, and I can see how a flaw like this would slip through the design review, considering it took so long to appear. By the time the problem became prevalent, it was likely not worth changing it but rather continuing development on the next line.
does the 6s models have the same problem ?
the touch ic is on the screen on 6s(plus)
the video specifically said iphone 6 plus and some iphone 6. they would have said iphone 6s if it affected that model too
JamesJDMoe i just wanted to know if they have tested the 6s model for the same reason.
No, they don't.
Got this problem, called in and they allowed me to go into the store and get a new one for free even though my warranty was expired for over 500 days
Hey I have an iphone 6 but mine doesnt have the flickering gray bar is it the same problem or is it another
I have an iPhone 5S.
How much does a touch sensor ic repair cost at your shop?
I've had my 6splus 28gb since December last year.. I've had no problems so far 😃
Just had this issue today. Flickering top part of the iphone and screen would not work when touched. The solution might currently be temporary but I solved it by restarting the iphone several times and tilted it in a number of directions when using the touch screen. It returned back to full functionality after that. Scared me for a bit.
So is this still an issue on the iPhone 6S Plus or 6S?
thats another reason why i dont buy aple products i stick to android far more reliable then aple not to mention cheaper
not for me, I've had a few androids now and each one kinda turns to shit after a year, two I've had are unusable now for no reason at all other than heavy use i suppose? but I remember i had an iPod touch (4th gen) for 5 years used it everyday constantly and it never had any problems
+circlehousePRO well my note 2 still work flawless about almost 4 years now
the only thing i have against samsung is the fact they dont update the siftware on the older models like for example the note 2
Poor person
Jared Diaz so what... not every country is murika or nazi germany, go live in china whit less then 250 dollars a mounth and see what youre able to buy, but im guessing youre nothing more then a mommas boy, where youre parents buy you everything,so stop behing a bitch , not all of us fall for the trend of brnading or whats trendy ,some of us actually now whats good, not alll the expensive crap last for eternety , a good nokia 3310 still kicks ass to any smartphone on durability and resistence...so do me a fovor and stfu
Like a great teacher...much interested.thank you for information.
Yes! Mine is doing this! I slap 👋 it often.
However happy to see this information freely being publicized for the masses to have a good education of whats causing such failures.
does this affect the 6s too?
An easy fix is to put some folded up electrical tape the size of the 2 chips, and a place it on top of the 2 touch chips/sensors and then just cover it up again with the sticker shield
My iPhone 6+ is going crazy
all apps r opening up and flickering what is it ??
I have a iPhone 6 and the line is at the bottom of the screen it copies the top of the screen and if I let it rest for a while it goes away then I click the power button and turn it back up the line gets bigger what can I do ?
Does the Iphone SE have the same problem?
I actually have had this issue with both of my iPhone 6 Plus models I kept getting the screen replaced with the same issue. I then did a phone claim and got a replacement phone though my mobile provider NOT APPLE! Apple needs to do something.
I thought I was the only one with this problem, and that I was doing something horribly wrong!
I went through three iPhone 6+ in half a year; all suddenly began having this problem and the Apple store kept replacing it. I got so fed up (also with the buggy UI) I returned to an iOS 6 iPhone 5... none of these problems!
What a shame.
Does this affect the 6S as well?
my 6 plus died due exactly to this problem and Apple completely does not acknowledge this issue and wanted me to pay for a new phone, I had no choice but to trade it in as a broken device to another place. This has completely changed my positive view of Apple products and customer service. Apple needs to respect their customers who spend more about $900 per phone every couple years. I don't want to buy any Apple products after this.
love her staff in the background
wow I'm impressed! changing a BGA IC with a hot air gun ... :)
My iPhone 6 Plus had this issue last year, I took it to the Apple Store and had a replacement straightaway
Another quality build brought you by Apple.Inc, this is not a "design flaw" or "planned obsolescence" it is actually a new "feature" that tell you when it is time to upgrade your phone. Another way Apple shows how much they care about their customers., and their commitment to innovate and revolutionize the hardware industry.
does this affect iphone 6s too?
Barely fits in a case and you can see in between the screen and the chassis. ) Still works though, he just presses on the top left of the phone and it goes away for a while. lol
I love Jessa!
5:33 Do you use "underfill" too to hold the chip in place?
I smack the hell out of the bottom of the screen and it works every time lol
Interesting video!
I have an 18-month old 6 (not 6 Plus). I get the feeling that this problem is more prevalent on 6 Plus than on 6. Can anyone comment on that?
Does apple repair it in the same way with a shield?
apple refused to rma my 6+ with this issue when it was in warranty.
So does this effect the 6S or 6S plus in anyway.
tl;dr apple fucked up and 6+ will break eventually
The 6S and 6S+ is fixed
No, you will be fine.
Why hasn't TH-cam fixed their audio sync issues??? its been like 2 weeks.
Does it happen with the 6S Plus?
i hav a karbonn android 4.1 tab bought in2012, worked great till now, even replaced its 8in digitizer myself.
My 6 plus was doing the same thing so I traded it in @ apple for $300 and got a 6s plus 64gb space gray
?
Thanks for this useful info
i didn't know what error 53 was before but not that i know it sounds like bs to me.
I was a victim of this problem that apple refused to take any responsibility for.
I have Same problem in iphone 4 but bottom of the phone
