Counting macros is one of THE most educational things a person can do for their health. The results of running the calcs are pretty much indisputable. The fact that numbers don't lie also reveal the number one roadblock to better weight control & health: Denial. What if I choose to focus only on proteins food from plant based to animal based regardless of fat and carbs is it possible. Also I used your calculations and I burn around 2800+ calories but I eat around 1800 but I gain weight rather than losing I don't know where the problem could be by the way I have hypothyroid but I take my medicine regularly

My macros breakdown for weight Lose are: Carbs: 142g ➡️570 calories Protein: 190g ➡️760 calories Fats: 63g ➡️570 calories For a total of 1900 calories. (This is just for the moment because from what I understood is that the macros breakdown changes when the weigh changes and since you told us to not obsess over them i decided to redo these calculations whenever i loose 5kg. My main goal is to loose 19 kg with a pace of 3~5kg a month)

I went into MyFitnessPal and put in the percentages of carbs/protein/fats I wanted and it was very different from what I calculated. I was certain I did my math right, does anyone have any insight?
myfitnesspal is known for not being that accurate, many people develop eating disorders using it as it claims they need less than they actually do, if theres a huge difference maybe go back and check again :)

My deficit weeks are 1800 calories with 135g of carbs and protein, and 80g of fat. My maintenance weeks are 2300 calories with 173g protein and carbs, and 102g of fat. I have tried to do lower carb eating and find that it leaves me cognitively sluggish as well as physically weak and fatigued. From all of the studies I have read it sounds as if I have a moderate carb tolerance.

Hi Joanna, I have a question regarding how much a person should eat... for quite some time now I am eating a lot. And by a lot I mean at least two warm meals a day and many snacks in between. I eat very healthy (lots of vegetables) but I also eat meat and chips. The thing is I don't gain weight and I don't feel uncomfortable with eating so much and it feels natural. My question is: can this be healthy? Does it "overwhelm" my digestive system? I am worried that my food intake is not normal because all of this started after a painful breakup...
