If SC didn't like the contract, and had no interest to negotiate, all he had to do was say 'no thank you, not my cup of tea' and just left it there. But instead he wanted to dramatize the situation.

Every company you want to sign with will have a contract. If SC didn't like the contract, walk away. Drumming up controversy where there is none is a dirtbag thing to do. Negotiating contracts are a thing. Making another company look like asholes just because you didn't get your way is scummy. My problem is the way SC tried to make the DW look like some underhanded crooks. Instead, of saying we have a different vision or business model, he tried to drag them thru the mud for having a different way than him. He totally lost points on my eyes for how he handled this.
They're disgusting for trying to make a slave out of him, trying to own his likeness, and everything he's ever worked to create. Greedy pieces of scat deserve the lost viewers and deserve to lose many more.

I don't like the way Steven handled it either, but I don't think it was due to greed or self-promotion. I believe he was trying to encourage/pressure Daily Wire and similar platforms into protecting people like him and not bowing to "cancel pressure" from Big Tech. Steven feels that DW should be telling young conservative talent that they will STILL get paid EVEN if Twitter and Facebook "cancel" them.

I agree with you. I think Steven is being unrealistic expecting a company like Daily Wire to keep paying people who have been crippled by social media bans. He has no right to be angry with a company for not being a crusader for his cause.
But I see his point. If nobody stands up to these tech platforms, then they tacitly become subservient to their censorship.
I'm fine with Steven's reasons for not doing the deal with Daily Wire, if it doesn't line up with your own vision and morals then of course you don't do it! But it's clear that Steven premeditated dragging Daily Wire through the mud. That's where he appears childish and looking for attention. He could've just declined the contract and moved on.
Literally this all could have been avoided if Jeremy wasn't an emotional responder to his video, he dragged his own company into it Steven didnt drag them. Speculation would have died down and everyone would have moved on. Everyone knows it was a shitty deal and to pretend otherwise is laughable. Plenty of good lawyers out there gave their 2 cents free of charge on what they thought almost none of them said it was something you would give a "friend of a decade"
Let us not forget that Daily Wire outed itself. Crowder didn't have to drag Daily Wire through the mud. Jeremy Boering got down in the mud and yelled, "drag me, please!"

Yeah, I agree 100%. He is clearly upset about the offer and how much he would lose if banned off of any major platforms. Anyone can sit there and say they wouldn’t accept more money. Nah, they presented a deal that Steven wasn't comfortable with. Simple as that. He's clearly able to do this on his own. He not only looking out for himself and his crew, but also creating a better platform for those who will have shows in the future. Fight like hell, Crowder!
I like that SC is fighting the good fight for conservatives. However, I don’t agree with how he handled the DW situation. If you can’t negotiate a deal, agree to disagree and move on. By him recording that conversation and releasing it publicly tells me a lot about his character.

If you watch Lauren Chens stream she tells us that Steven Crowder stop being friends with her just because she didnt accept a deal with him that required her to move out of Canada where she was living and dating her now husband. I was a big fan of Steven, donated to him regularly. I'm done with him after what he tried to do to DW. He had ZERO reasons to start this mudslinging, betray someone who thought of him as a friend, surreptitiously record him and then publish what HE thought was incriminating but was in fact nothing of the sort. He showed himself to be SO petty and fragile. If he didn't like the deal DW offered him he could have just said "No thank you" and go his own way. But no, it had to become petty and ugly.
I now understand why he's having so many health issues. Inside, he is a deeply unhappy and tormented person.

Considering we live in an attention based economy these days, it's genius and an incredible smart move over anything else.
I was fully on Crowders side until he went on Timcast and I wasn't really convinced by his reasoning for why he acted how he did in the beef. Also, listening to Jordan Petersons daughter talk about their experience dealing with DW made me think Crowder probably definitely played this whole thing wrong. Still though, I hope Crowder and crew are successful in whatever they do because psycho liberals have taken over everything and us conservatives need to start building up the competition.

I find Crowder to be so disingenuous in this topic that i have lost all respect I have had for him. He talks about bringing in talent? He has raised literally NO ONE. He doesn't' support content creators. He is not producing a media platform. He is nothing more than a small time youtube content creator and a parttime comedian. His reach is long ONLY because he exists on platforms other businesses created, like youtube. DW is trying to build a legit media and platform competitor. Name me one talent that Crowder has signed, never mind him lifting any content creators up to be big names.
When he is talking about the terms of the offer, he is still misrepresenting them. The content penalties would ONLY apply to platforms OUTSIDE the DW. Specials and documentaries wouldn't be on TH-cam so they would not be subject to those, they would be behind the paywall. AND Crowder moderates his own content anyway and has his own 'piss off youtube' behind his own paywall so he is doing the same thing he is calling DW out on. So dishonest.
When he belittles the effort to homogenize the conservative side; that is part of the cultural problem. The left IS homogenized and moving with almost one mind, conservatives are fractured in these independent cells having small time disagreements while we lose the culture.
On the topic of reaching younger versus older people; the framing is off; older people watch TV; younger people watch youtube. That is all that is happening there. It has nothing to do with the difference in the actual content it is 100% a result of where it is.
On the claim of there being a lot of 'suitors' making him offers. I don't buy it. Crowder is a loose cannon liability 1 second from being kicked off every platform availability. I bet that is why the re-negotiation with the Blaze fell through. I am 99% sure the DW was the ONLY one that even made him an offer and when it was lower and worst terms then he was expecting he throw together this scheme to syphon off numbers from DW to spite them and to leech of their 'paywall' success. He needed to re-grow his email list because the original mug club he did not keep (Blaze got that). was it a "nonstarter" when he made that deal with the blaze?

No matter what side you’re on(or if you think the whole thing is pointless), SC did some seemingly unprofessional things. This is going to hurt him in the long run because every time SC reaches out to a future business associate, they are going to think of this silly “feud” and not take him seriously. Also, all of his contracts must live up to the standard he holds for the DW. Only time will tell how this works out for him.
I think the opposite. I think future business associates of his will look to what he did regarding DW and see that he is all business when it comes to business. I would love nothing more than to be a part of something with someone who takes so seriously what he does for not only himself but others as well.
And of course all of his contracts should live up to what he expected from DW. If you claim to be about something, be all about it despite who it offends and despite who you may lose in the long haul.
Steven Crowder is a lot of what the world needs. He doesn't cater to any and everyone just because he may hurt some feelings or egos in the process.

When DW couldn't afford to pay Crowder what he wanted, he decided they were going to be his competitor. So instead of just walking away from the table, he went on the offense to discredit them and make them look bad. I saw right through it. He tried making it look like it was about something else.

See it’s easy to talk about building the future and preserving the movement and doing it for young talent coming up. Where is his “coaching tree“? Where is his Brett Cooper? Where is his Matt Walsh? Where is going after Gina Carano and making a movie with her? Who is Jordan Peterson currently working with? Crowders been around just as long, if not longer than the DW, the difference is Crowder is a solo act. He’s always been a solo act, and will always be a solo act. And that’s fine. This whole thing has been so incredibly counterproductive to what both sides claim to be trying to accomplish. It makes Steven seem to be completely disingenuous if what has been made public is the entire truth. At the end of the day this is his job and the way he supports his family, but this has completely changed the way I, and I’m sure many others, view him. I am assuming anyone that is his “friend” right now is not going to have the same relationship with him moving forward if they are smart. The entire thing is extremely juvenile and very telling of him as a person.
Crowder lost my respect when he went after Daily Wire in bad faith. Wish he started promoting his new chapter without pulling other conservatives through the mud.

If SC didn't want the Daily Wire deal, that's fine. However when he secretly recorded the conversation he had with them and tried to use it to drag them thru the mud, he lost me. Was totally egotistical and uncalled for. He caused this, not Daily Wire.
Remember, he never mentioned names. DW then just preemptively released the video that same day. They ousted themselves while belittling Crowder. Just go back and see the time line

Crowder never sounds calm to me. He speaks like he's in a constant state of heighten anxiety. Ben Shapiro speaks quickly but he doesn't sound as anxious as Crowder because you hear Xrowder take quick gasps of breaths in between sentences.
At first, I resolved to continue to support both DW and MC. Then came the video of the recorded conversation. Bottom line, I love Drew Klavan, too; I never miss his show. He hit the nail on the head when he talked about what happened between SC and DW…he told the Truth-in love, as the Word tells us to do-about SC’s behavior. I don’t know if I can get past SC’s purposeful betrayal of a [former] friend. I hope at some point SC can make things right with DW. 😞
Daily Wire was never his friends, you don’t send a friend a lopsided contract that tries to make you a salaried employee with more risk then being self employed

Where he tried to say putting the cost of production on Steven was to give him full creative control despite there being nothing in the contract ensuring they could vtow any creative choices and didn’t even have the right to not be overloaded with dozens of ad reads
First offer or not it was the equivalent of wanting to negotiate the sale of a 20k car and someone wanted to start at 20 bucks and expect you to negotiate it to a reasonable position

Because that’s how bad this “first offer” was, by jeremy’s own admission the money was 50% what he expected and that’s before giving big tech the power to remove 110% of it, oh and having to pay 35K to take a sick day (as in that 100K penalty for missing an episode is 35K more then the value of the episode if you do the math on the 50 mil)
Or a god damn perpetuity clause where Dailywire tries to own Merch rights AFTER the contract is up

He didn't need to name them. His bringing attention to his contract rejection, with strong allusions to who it was, was the name drop in and of itself, and it's arguable that was Steven's intention all along. Let's not be disingenuous here and admit Steven put them in a position of compulsion. Either they responded, or be dubbed cowards for not addressing it. You can like Steven and acknowledge this unequivocal fact.

Crowder recorded the call (the one he lied to his audience about) before the first video he released complaining about "conservative media", but everyone knew it was about DW. The adults knew this because Crowder was leaving the Blaze (so it can't be them), he burned his bridges at Fox News 10 years ago (so not them either), and so the only other company that could afford him was DW.
Crowder also mentions the ad reads in his first video, which DW is famous for. Everyone on Twitter/Reddit/TH-cam knew Crowder was calling out DW, and so Jeremy Boreing made his video going through the term sheet. In that video, Jeremly (wrongfully) assumes Crowder is acting in good faith and is just confused/emotional, and he tells his audience several times that they should support whatever Crowder does going forward.
Making a response video that debunks claims made against your company while also being respectful to the person who is getting it wrong (or lying, as we later learned) isn't "escalating" anything, it's actually a really admirable way to behave in this situation. If DW were as cold and money-hungry as they're often portrayed as, they could have gone on the attack immediately, but they (naively) chose to believe Crowder was just confused and emotional. They were totally blindsided and that cost them. You don't have to like DW *at all,* but they are the good guys in this, Crowder is the bad guy, and it isn't even close.
Crowder wasn't wrong to decline DW's offer. In fact, I agree with his basic reasons for doing so. But he was self-serving and disingenuous in how he publicized his side of the story.
How can a business earn revenue when their paid staff doesn’t do things to directly bring money to their platform? It sounds great in theory, but that’s just not a successful business plan.
