      @@gerk7238 Yes, the celebrity scientist (who's paid to push a narrative) is not automatically right just because he's a scientist. 🤣 Also, you're deliberately mischaracterizing Arthur here, as he's not trying to flatter anyone. He made a vague statement and didn't even name any names.
      It's obvious that YOU are presuming Neil to be, and recognizing Neil as, "the idiot working like mad to make you think he's right." Once again, it was a vague statement, no names mentioned, you filled in the blanks yourself. If you didn't think that to be true, you may have said, "I know, it's amazing how much of a true man and how humble Neil is in his knowledge, and that Patrick is like a con artist with his logical fallacies. Why the hell is he trying to convince us so hard? What does he have to gain? Does he really care about people that much, he's gotta convince us "for our own good," because we're just too dumb to understand.
      We all know that's not true at this point though. Thanks for confirming it. 👍

      @@gerk7238 well the scientist (astrophysicist) repeatedly claimed that it blocked transmission (get the shot to protect others), which is demonstrably false. So you’re choosing to believe the scientist because he’s a scientist (in a completely different field), regardless of the fallacies he’s spewing, yet WE are the sycophants??? What a good little media parroting sheep you are. Bless your heart.

    As a historian, it baffles me how little aware scientists are of how often they are wrong when there is a "consensus." It's even further baffling how every scientist who disagrees with the majority, is simply discarded as a scientist at that point (thus creating their perceived "consensus").

    • @peregrination3643
      @peregrination3643 ปีที่แล้ว +104

      What's weird is that many science programs require a "history of science" type of course. Clearly, adding that to these programs hasn't helped. The last few years has had me extracting all sorts of historical knowledge I may have forgotten. But even if I didn't already have the exposure, there's no shortage of books that focus on one topic of scientists assuming a set of facts and the few who broke those assumptions and moved things forward. On the other hand...I find people who ignore history tend to sort historical knowledge where it doesn't touch anything current, and so they apply a different set of thinking. I'm always baffled by that.

This was the most intensely scrutinized vaccine imaginable.

Well if those “others” have a vaccine that was sold as safe and effective, why worry about someone unvaccinated giving them Covid? I know many vaccinated people who have not only caught Covid but caught it multiple times even after the boosters. Kids were required to be vaccinated in order to go to school when there is overwhelming evidence that vaccine adverse events far exceed any value to kids. But when the government asked the people who always talk about 'personal responsibility', to act on their personal responsibility, most of them said: "No way, I'm afraid!". And then they thought up many many excuses to not do the responsible thing. Some of them died, some of them caused the death of family members, but all of them exacerbated the damage to the economy and their countrymen. Their personal responsibility was less important than their fear of a little sting and the one in 10,000 to 100,000 chance of a really bad side effect. They want to present themselves as adults, but they behaved like scared little children. That's not an example, that's what I was referring to.

I happened to be at a workplace where I encountered some people who were like this and after a long time of being provoked, I snapped, got dragged down to their level and yeah, they then beat me with experience because the behavior they displayed in an attempt to win, I honestly find it still hard to believe adults are capable such absurd and embarrassingly stupid, non-sensicel and brash behavior to get their way.
      Like really, this quote is an interesting food for thought, but if you're forced to actually experience every word of it. Few things in life are as soul crushing as this.

Sure, people die all the time, but....can you remember a time when so many healthy young people died from a heart attack on a football field while playing, or just about every other sport, and profession? I can remember one, years ago who collapsed on the basket ball court. Turned out he had an undetected problem with his heart. The deaths today are being caused by heart failure due to long, rubber band like strings, that are not part of the blood's composition, and diagnosed as myocarditis.
