- A meditative, tranquil piece. I love playing “Forgotten” composers. This is one of them. A Belgian composer who wrote beautiful pieces.
I you like my performance, please consider to buy me a coffee. I want to invest in a new Hauptwerk computer with 64 GB RAM. You can help me with that! :-) www.buymeacoff...
If you like my Channel, and wish to support me in my musical journey, ánd be part of new ideas and initiatives, consider than to become a patreon. It will be a great honour to me. / rienschalkwijk

Lovely triplet rhythms make the harmonies shine in this little candy. Well done, Rien!
Thanks! It’s a lovely little piece!
Very beautiful! Another new composer for me ;-)
Thanks! A Belgian one this time. But you can feel he traveled to France a lot! ;-)
😊 Beautifully played Rien! Thank you!
Thanks!
Finally have the time to catch up some of your wonderful music I missed the last week. Will have some wonderful minutes of your work, for sure ^.^ Good start with this :)
Thanks! I hope you can find something that you like! ;-)
Another beautiful gen from a composer I have never heard of (so 'forgotten' as you say, Rien). I could not find any details about him other than the 'Biographical Dictionary of the Organ' gives the year of Alphonse's death (different spelling) as 1950 (making him 74 rather than the young 39 your dates suggest). The Cavaille-Coll at Oloron was a perfect choice for this composition and you squeeze every drop of sentimentality out of this charming music. I love it: bravo!
Thanks Graham. I had the date from another website. But I think you are right. This kind of style fits better with a riper composer… Strange that this romantic French style was common practise in Belgium but not in the Netherlands. Maybe because a lot of the French and Belgian composers have roots in a liberal Catholic culture instead of the Dutch orthodox protestant culture in the 19th century.
Very beautiful ! I see you use your free time smartly with recording around one big piece a day ! Nice day to you !
Thanks! I have two weeks vacation. But thanks to the lock down over here everything is closed. Restaurants, shops, museums, churches, theaters, even some parks or forests (because of to many people). So, a lot of time the practice, play and record.
Thank you Rien for this really nice piece, perfect to be played for a "communion" time .... hhhh I will try to find it for a next sunday service ! :-)
Thanks! You can find it in here. Volume 5, page 8! Have fun playing it! imslp.org/wiki/Archives_de_l'Organiste_(Delépine%2C_Henri)
@@RienSchalkwijk Thx for the link ! :-)
Now I’m interested to hear a communion piece on a Wurlitzer. That would be 😆
I play what the public wants. I wrote down your request! :-)
