- Another Flemish (Belgian) composer today. This piece (Adagio) starts and ends in F major, but the middle part, in A flat major is probably the most beautiful, especially the parts where the double pedals add extra warmth. I hope you like this warm and gentle piece!
You can find the sheet music, among lots of other beautiful forgotten music in my Secret Vault here: drive.google.com/drive/folder...
For the best listening experience, I recommend using headphones, earbuds, or a hi-fi set. The sound dynamics of the pipe organ are truly remarkable and can be fully appreciated with high-quality audio equipment.
Played with the 1924 Steinmeyer organ, Landau, St. Maria, Germany (Hauptwerk)

Thanks Clara! However… I’m Rien
@@RienSchalkwijk Haha ~ My mistake^^!! Dear Rien 😀🥰😍
They are wonderful sounds, so much emotion conveyed on a musical level. Wonderful dear Rien!
Thanks! :-)
This is a lovely piece, the strings sound really warm inteed with those lush harmonies!
Thanks! ;-)
Very beautiful piece and playing Rien ! Sweet harmonies !
Thanks buddy!
I thoroughly enjoyed this Rien. The composer has taken great care to ensure that it did not become over-sentimental or schmaltzy.
Thanks! Especially the middle part written in a flat adds to the quality of this piece.
I see that poor Alfons was only 39 when he died . . . and the 1915 year makes me wonder if he was in some way a victim of WW1? He certainly died far too early, but leaves a legacy of music that certainly knows how to touch the heart in its beauty and sincerity. Your performance on the magnificent Steinmeyer Organ sample set is just gorgeous, Rien: B R A V O !
Thanks a lot Graham. You learned me that he had a connection with Van Peteghem! How exciting!
So lovely! ❤
Thanks! :-)
Beautiful Song Rien 🎹
Thanks! Have a nice day!
This would be beautiful as a prelude -- especially for a wedding -- or an offertory. It almost seems as though it should have words. Also another excellent candidate for the Van Peteghem. Beautifully played.
Thanks! The organ in Ulvenhout did have a Celeste. But some moron in the past has it replaced for a totally unnecessary Larigot 1 1/3.
Mooi compositie en prima neergezet!
Dank! Mooie dag gewenst!
You can easily become a liturgical organist with this piece :)
Thanks! I think I could be sub organist in a Lutheran or Catholic Church. I’ve not much knowledge about Psalm so most Dutch Protestant churches would be a no go.
Sounds great on Landau!
I really like this set!
Sehr schöne Harmonien.
Vielen dank!
Echt mooi Rien!
Dank Jan! Deze past prima op jouw mooie orgel!
Beautiful romantic performance.
Thank you Alberto!
I love your channel, Rien. You're introducing me to a lot of music that I never even knew existed!
I looked everywhere for this gem if a piece and can't find it anywhere. Any clues, mate?
Thanks Ralph! I just have made the sheets available in my “Secret Vault of Forgotten Music.” Accessible via the description now. :-)
@RienSchalkwijk you're a SUPERSTAR! Many thanks!
Mooi gedaan, Rien . Geeft rust..
Dank! Mooie rustig muziek voor een zonnige dag!
@@RienSchalkwijkdat is zeker waar. 😊
