so wonderful beautiful video Isaac i love it see so nice it make me so happy ❤❤❤❤
I just built some hay feeders out of 2 3/8. I found that using a portable band saw for cutting the saddle worked very well. I got one from Harbor Freight over a year ago and is still working well. But, I hate using a torch.
thanks for sharing how you make your pipe panels !! Excellent!!!
You’re welcome! Glad you liked the video.
Looking great!
Started feeding bales today.
Thanks! Yup, we are getting close to feeding hay full time now as well.
That was a big job. Very impressive
Thanks!
Enjoyed it sir.
I built a few last year, I actually built them on top of my flatbed trailer. Didn't have to wrestle them too much. Just flipped them with the tractor until I had the feet on them. Very handy things to have, hope to get more built. Thanks
Wish I had a big flatbed trailer! That would have made it much easier. I had to spend about 30 minutes leveling each one out before tacking it together. And the amount of times the jacks tipped over before I got it tacked was about to drive me crazy lol. Did you do flat pipe on the feet or do you have a pipe bender?
@FarmandHammer I actually didn't put a heavy pipe on bottom like yours, which I call picture framing. I just made 2 of my uprights longer and welded flat feet to them. Ran sucker rod all the way to the bottom . Seems to work pretty good, and makes them quite a bit cheaper.
You could probably use your bale trailer if you wanted to. Just a thought.
Absolutely beautiful sharing adventure upload and share .. TQSM ! ..
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice job!
Thanks!
Pretty darn good, my friend!!!!! Peace from SW Florida!!
Thanks Ron!
nice work, you should watch a video from Luthi Ranch on how he makes the saddle cut on pipe !
Excellent job thank you
Thanks for watching!
11:00 & 15:15 Was that the QC crew or OSHA looking on in the background? 😁
Yeah and they were complaining the whole time lol
Your Dewalt chop saw will cut the pipe to fit on another so you dont need to use the torch. Cut it on a 30 degree angle and leave 3/8" at each tip. Done this many times. Much cleaner joint than using a torch
I tried that but I guess I couldn’t get the angle perfect. My saddles on one end of the pipe weren’t lining up with the saddles on the other end. Had to turn those bad cuts into the feet for one of the panels lol. I saw guys doing that on TH-cam and they were making it look easy!
Hard by yourself but if you had help and could set up a line with one cutting and notching and one welding. You could spit them out. I do understand farmers have to keep labor in check. Nice job on them. They look good to me. Should save a lot of money!
It would be a lot faster with help but can’t afford to hire someone. My dad offers to help quite a bit but I don’t want him to do the bad jobs.
@ I wish I lived closer. I enjoy welding and building stuff like that.
❤
invest in a plasma torch, you will soon realize the savings on gas and cutting wheels trust me I know. second build some sawhorses with that pipe and save your back-knees. Third get your chopsaw up on a table, nicer cuts and saving on your body again. good work.
