Just received my WCG P365XL grip module today. This video was outstanding. I was able to install the mag release and grip module within 5 mins. Thanks.
Just got mine, installed the magazine release referencing this video. I have a Wilson Combat grip on my P320 and love it. I’ll transfer the FCU tomorrow which is a breeze. Great video, thank you.
Great video. And thanks for covering the mag release installation! I just installed a Wilson Combat P365XL grip module on my standard P365. What a difference! I have big hands and was going to sell my 365 due to the small grip. But simply adding the 365XL grip module, with the longer grip, completely changes the feel of the gun - for the better!
I would have problems with out the Wilson Combat grips. I have them on my P365 & P365X. I know i did not have to buy bot. I am a nut. To make matters worse I got a super deal on the Sig P365 XL Specter-not the comp. It was the last one left sold as a "Display modle" basically new for 1,100 plus a 25.00 FFL fee no tax as Kentucky gun Co does not charge tax if shipped out of stste. I have my guitars custom made i California. No tax and 35.00 shipping. Pretty straight forward install once It actually arrived. When I first went to order it was out of stock. Got an email it was in stock, checked, yupo, stated in stock. Ordered it and site said would ship in 5 to 7 business days. After 3 days with no tracking I checked my order to find it listed as backordered. I messaged customer service and told them to cancel my order. It took 2 months to get in stock and after I ordered an in stock part it went to out of stock. I wasn't going to wait two more months... Two days later I got an email that it was in the process of shipping and the site must've glitched, "sorry about that". So, what looked to be my usual luck with any companies customer service turned into awesome service. Grip is installed and feels awesome in my short fingered, wide palmed hand.
I'm pretty sure that the pin goes out from right to left (when looking behind the gun; natural shooting view) and comes in left to right. Pin shouldn't give you issues if you do that.
That’s a possibility. That was the first time I had ever removed that pin so it was in there pretty good. Since I’ve removed it the pin comes out pretty easy left to right, but I’m intrigued to check that out now.
Don't really see too many videos on the tan color one. Thank you. Ended up going with the same color since I'm a sucker for fde. And also purchased and tlr7 sub to go with it.
I totally agree with you. It makes it a real pistol with real controll at a vrey inexpensive price. Great video-Thank you. I think most people would do this if they knew it was avail-
I have a regular Sig P365 pistol. Not a P365XL. When I called Wilson Combat to order the grip module I told them I had 12 round magazines and they told me I needed their XL module. However now that I have it I find that the 12 round magazine won't fit. Can you tell me what you have here in the video.
The grips being installed in this video are for the XL. The XL came standard with the 12 round magazine. Is the grip too large or too small for the magazines you have? And are they standard issued Sig mags?
@@firearmsinsight Yes sir, the P365 I have is the regular model and not the XL version. However I had purchased Sig Sauer factory 12 round magazines for it, but they come with an extension on the end of the magazine which would not allow it to be inserted into the Wilson Combat grip module. But I wanted to continue to use those larger capacity magazines with the Wilson Combat grip module. So I ended up finding another video where the guy had to change the floor plate to the flat flush fit floor plate. Now it works fine.
I have this same issue with mine, I have a regular 365 and bought a XL module grip to take advantage of the 12 rd mags. I think the baseplate needs to be modified a little to fit, I noticed on mine there's tabs on both sides that extends up a little and I think I can cut those and it'll fit better. I am struggling to load the mags in, both the extended pinky and slim baseplate.
The weights are here! However, I ordered the wrong grip module. I accidentally ordered the module with the cutout for a safety. My 365 doesn't have a safety. So I sent it back for exchange. So now I hurry up and wait!
@ Firearms InSight, I have it and the weights installed. Love it! I did have a small issue installing the mag catch (I installed an extended mag catch) the button that locks the catch in, it didn't seat right, therefore I couldn't insert a magazine. But I finally got it seated and it works great! The weights definitely take the sharpness out of the recoil. All in all, it's definitely worth the money. The increased grip purchase and reduced recoil makes this a great CCW weapon!
Great video-Thank you- I love the Wilson grips. I have them for the smaller P365. I want one for my P365X. I bought an FCU unit. I think it will turn into a tasty build-Thank you.
I was installing the mag release button in the Wilson combat stock and the spring popped out but the little lock button and release button is stuck in the gun and now I can’t get the little piece to come out to retry to reassemble it,, can anybody help me out and tell me how to fix this
Hey what size punch do I need? I don't have one and need to buy it before my grip comes in the mail tomorrow lol. Can't find any info on that pin diameter. Also the tcg take down pin seems super loose.... Do I even need a punch? Also does that pin walk out? That thing just seemed too loose but I don't know anything about it lol
You made the installation of the mag release look so easy, but I'm having a hell of a time getting it installed. That damn spring is giving me a fit. Does it go in the small channel or the larger one?
This is a great question! I would say they’re closer to true tan than it would be to Sig’s “coyote” color…which looks more brown. I’d say it’s lighter than traditional coyote coloring too. Looks great with any color slide I’ve seen so far. Hope that helps!
The stock XL grip was great in my hand. This has a more robust feel in the hand, but i don’t think it’s that much of a difference in size honestly. I think the real difference that sets the WC grips apart from the Sigs, whether that’s the 320/365 line, is that the contours on the grips are tailored for the hand. It’s a perfect grip IMO. The material is polymer, and has a more aggressive feel than the stock. Some people love it, some hate it. It doesn’t bother me though.
To me, there's not too much difference in size between the stock grip and WC grip, but the Wilson Combat grip seems to have just a tad more rounded girth. It's not night and day by any means but you can feel the difference holding them back to back. And the grip material is just hard molded plasic, definitely not a rubber feel. Hoque makes a $12 rubber grip sleeve though. It gives the stock grip a bit more girth than the WC, but the rubber feels nicer to hold. The only down side I can say for the Hogue rubber grip sleeve is that the texturing is just okay on the sides and none existent on the front/back so it can be a little slippery if your hands are sweaty. But for being just $12 and removeable the Hogue grip sleeve is a very low risk purchase.
I believe you would use the XL model. They haven’t released one yet for the actual x macro (as far as i know). You probably could wait to see whether they come out with one? I’m sure the XL frame would work fine though.
Question, how much better is the wilson competive barrel for the sig 365xl? how much better is the wilson slide than the sig 365xl?...how much better are the wilson 12 round mags, and iron nite sights ? thank you.....i know about the sig light eight optional trigger....as i describe this hand put together weapon what do you estimate the cost as compared to buyiing the sig 365xl as it comes from Sig???????.....thank you again
I can’t really speak to any of this as you should build a competition pistol to the specifications of your need. What I can say is that if you’re building it out it’ll probably be more expensive but you have more freedom to fulfill your needs that way.
Thanks for the great video!!! however they are not any good videos on how to switch the magazine to the other side for left-handed shooters... could you possibly do that on one of your p365xl?
I’m ready to buy a 365 but can’t decide between the 365X and the 365XL. Any insight or ideas of why I should sway one way or the other?? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
It really comes down to preference. For me, I would prefer the X over the XL (even though I have the XL). The X is going to be a better carry weapon for comfort without sacrificing capacity. The XL would IMO be a slightly smoother performing gun. In an EDC though comfort and function sometimes outweigh the recoil lol.
I really want to try these out but I just bought the Icarus precision xl hybrid frame which I enjoy a ton. But at 65 bucks it’s hard not to try one. Is the size of the grip very noticeable from the stock frame?
Great price point! I do a quick comparison of the two at the end of the video, but I would say it’s definitely noticeable. It’s a good noticeable though…like noticing that it fits great in your hand lol.
Just stopping by to give an update. I received this grip module (p365xl version) in the mail the other and I was amazed at how it feels. It is a big improvement from the stock grip, I still love my Icarus precision grip for the fact that it has a 1913 picatinny rail, gives the p365 a much different shooting experience and just looks badass! But for what these Wilson grips are going for they are worth it. I now purchased the regular version so I could configure my p365 to its smallest form for summer carry.
I think it’s a really nice grip. The functionality of it is parallel to the other aftermarket grips In it’s class IMO. For what you’re spending, the WC is definitely worth it.
Without seeing it my only guess would be that the slide lock assembly popped maybe? I did hear people mention that if you turn the fcu on it’s side that parts can fall out too.
I would assume the sticker isn’t guaranteed based on stock. I have received orders before without them in them too. I did get them in both WCP365 Module orders though.
So, I have shot them in the 320, but not in my XL’s….yet. That is a video we plan on doing shortly so keep an eye out for that. I will say I do think they help with weight distribution which helps with accuracy.
I would assume they would. The 17 round mags come with interchangeable base plates depending on which model you have. If you want a concrete answer I would reach out to Wilson Combat, but I would bet they do.
I agree. I was very underwhelmed with the mag release on the WC module. I think the only thing you can do is an extended mag release upgrade. You might be able to get the stock release in to the WC grip.
That's interesting because I had the opposite experience. I thought the included WC mag release would be lighter, but it actually pops the magazine out with some force. On my original frame it's rather weak. Something to do with the springs? I'm going to try an extended mag release anyway.
I believe their main reasoning for keeping the sig proprietary rail is for holster fitment. The rail and trigger guard are the same, so they will fit all the holsters
Just received my WCG P365XL grip module today. This video was outstanding. I was able to install the mag release and grip module within 5 mins. Thanks.

Figured it out. Its more about applying pressure with your finger inside the magwell, to ensure the piece is completely flat.
Do I order the XL for my 365x? I just need the flush 12

what happens to the serial number when you switch out the grip

I think i said what it was in the video. I can’t remember, but it was smaller!
Nice job 👍.....I'm sending you mine to do ...😉
Send it over 😂😂
Anybody else feel like the magazine release is not that great, doesn't jump out like with stock grip release, any idea how to improve it?
Any update to the extended release?
Real shame they didn't upgrade to a pic rail, definitely dropped the ball. I went with an Icarus grip and its hands down better but a lot more money.
The Icarus grips are premier, but with that premier quality comes an premier price tag lol. I like the WC grip for the money.
I believe their main reasoning for keeping the sig proprietary rail is for holster fitment. The rail and trigger guard are the same, so they will fit all the holsters
Did u install the weights in it?
No not yet. If anyone has please give us an update!
Is the grips length longer,?
No, they’re the same length as the stock grips.
..same as stock XL..
It’s a badass grip I love mine
They’re great!
😃
🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Noce vid
Thanks dawg
Does nothing to improve performance
Yah-huh.
you seem... _bothered._
Never that
I have an extended mag release in my stock p365xl. Will this fit in the Wilson grip module?
It should fit no problem!
