Wilson Combat Grip Module Swap on a Sig P356XL!
มุมมอง 19K2 ปีที่แล้ว
We are switching out the old XL grip module for Wilson Combat’s new module for the 365 line. This is the same grip that P320 owners have come to love but in a smaller package! Thanks for watching, and good luck with your swap! You can find the Wilson Combat P365 line grip modules here: shopwilsoncombat.com/WCP365-Modules/products/1471/
Very helpful video!
Thanks for the help. It was a piece of cake. I purchased the gray one.
I have a tac ops 365 x macro can i go to a smaller frame like yours the xl.?
Hey what size punch do I need? I don't have one and need to buy it before my grip comes in the mail tomorrow lol. Can't find any info on that pin diameter. Also the tcg take down pin seems super loose.... Do I even need a punch? Also does that pin walk out? That thing just seemed too loose but I don't know anything about it lol
Not sure which color looks better in person? Tan or black??
Depends on the look you’re going for. I’m partial to the tan, but the black is sleek looking too.
@@firearmsinsight liking them both! Lol but your right the black looks sleek!
Just got the WCP365XL module and gonna need to find a pinky extension or filler for my 17 round Macro mags for a more finished look
How do you like the grip so far?
@firearmsinsight very nice. I have that setup and another 365 with the Icarus xl grip I'm working on. Both fabulous in hand.
Thanks for this video, will the same mags fit without issues?
They should! I experienced no issues with my Sig mags.
Will the sig p365x fit on the Wilson combat p365xl ?
Yes, it should!
I was installing the mag release button in the Wilson combat stock and the spring popped out but the little lock button and release button is stuck in the gun and now I can’t get the little piece to come out to retry to reassemble it,, can anybody help me out and tell me how to fix this
If you take it to any gun shop I’m sure they can help you pop it out.
I totally agree with you. It makes it a real pistol with real controll at a vrey inexpensive price. Great video-Thank you. I think most people would do this if they knew it was avail-
Thanks for watching!!
Question, how much better is the wilson competive barrel for the sig 365xl? how much better is the wilson slide than the sig 365xl?...how much better are the wilson 12 round mags, and iron nite sights ? thank you.....i know about the sig light eight optional trigger....as i describe this hand put together weapon what do you estimate the cost as compared to buyiing the sig 365xl as it comes from Sig???????.....thank you again
I can’t really speak to any of this as you should build a competition pistol to the specifications of your need. What I can say is that if you’re building it out it’ll probably be more expensive but you have more freedom to fulfill your needs that way.
What size punch is that?
I think i said what it was in the video. I can’t remember, but it was smaller!
Can you use wilson combat grip module on p365xl with manual safety? Thanks a lot
They do make them with the manual safety cutout!
I got a 16rd magazine from Joe Bob's Outfitters. Great gun. Good review.
That’s awesome! Thanks for the update!
I know this video has been up for awhile. I just bought a stroeger just like the 1 on this review last May of 2023 It's a 13 rounds just like the gun on this review . I have a question When I first got my stroeger I was only able to put 12 rounds in it . The 13th round just won't go in I have shot the thing several times with only 12 rounds I really like the gun too. I can live with the only 12 rounds though. I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem with this
Thanks for watching the video and leaving your comment/question! I can say personally I have not had this issue. Maybe reach out to Stoeger and see what they suggest?
Just got mine, installed the magazine release referencing this video. I have a Wilson Combat grip on my P320 and love it. I’ll transfer the FCU tomorrow which is a breeze. Great video, thank you.
Thanks for watching! Enjoy!
will you still be able to use your current Holster?
Yes. i had no issues with holsters after swapping! Thanks for watching!
My next pistol is a Stoger.
They’re nice!
Great video-Thank you- I love the Wilson grips. I have them for the smaller P365. I want one for my P365X. I bought an FCU unit. I think it will turn into a tasty build-Thank you.
Thanks for watching! The Wilson grips are awesome! Keep us updated on the future build!
Does nothing to improve performance
Yah-huh.
I didn't get a sticker :/ Thanks for this video. Super easy to follow along.
Sorry to hear about the sticker…happy to hear the install went well! Enjoy!
Thx 4 the video. Will the gun still fit in my shape/shift modular holster ?
I would think so! I don’t see why not. They’re built off the same specs.
I’m ready to buy a 365 but can’t decide between the 365X and the 365XL. Any insight or ideas of why I should sway one way or the other?? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
It really comes down to preference. For me, I would prefer the X over the XL (even though I have the XL). The X is going to be a better carry weapon for comfort without sacrificing capacity. The XL would IMO be a slightly smoother performing gun. In an EDC though comfort and function sometimes outweigh the recoil lol.
Do they fit the 17rd mags?
I would assume they would. The 17 round mags come with interchangeable base plates depending on which model you have. If you want a concrete answer I would reach out to Wilson Combat, but I would bet they do.
Super helpful video. First time doing a mod like this. Worked flawlessly. Thank you!
Glad it worked out! Thanks for watching!
BTW, recently stoeger industry does sell 16 round magazine for stoeger str-9 c on their website.
Good to know! Thanks for the update!
The weapon is Italian. Love Italian guns. Nice looking gun
Sure is!
it is really true tan color or more coyote color?
This is a great question! I would say they’re closer to true tan than it would be to Sig’s “coyote” color…which looks more brown. I’d say it’s lighter than traditional coyote coloring too. Looks great with any color slide I’ve seen so far. Hope that helps!
I have a regular Sig P365 pistol. Not a P365XL. When I called Wilson Combat to order the grip module I told them I had 12 round magazines and they told me I needed their XL module. However now that I have it I find that the 12 round magazine won't fit. Can you tell me what you have here in the video.
The grips being installed in this video are for the XL. The XL came standard with the 12 round magazine. Is the grip too large or too small for the magazines you have? And are they standard issued Sig mags?
@@firearmsinsight Yes sir, the P365 I have is the regular model and not the XL version. However I had purchased Sig Sauer factory 12 round magazines for it, but they come with an extension on the end of the magazine which would not allow it to be inserted into the Wilson Combat grip module. But I wanted to continue to use those larger capacity magazines with the Wilson Combat grip module. So I ended up finding another video where the guy had to change the floor plate to the flat flush fit floor plate. Now it works fine.
Okay! That makes more sense then! Yes, you can either modify the baseplates or buy new magazines!
I have this same issue with mine, I have a regular 365 and bought a XL module grip to take advantage of the 12 rd mags. I think the baseplate needs to be modified a little to fit, I noticed on mine there's tabs on both sides that extends up a little and I think I can cut those and it'll fit better. I am struggling to load the mags in, both the extended pinky and slim baseplate.
Best video on how to install. thanks for the bit about the mag release. very helpful
Appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
Ordered one today for $48 on sale. Held a buddies and it felt phenomenal
They’re great! Keep us updated once you get it installed!
Which model would you use for the p365 x macro ?
I believe you would use the XL model. They haven’t released one yet for the actual x macro (as far as i know). You probably could wait to see whether they come out with one? I’m sure the XL frame would work fine though.
I just ordered mine today along with the tungsten weights. I can't wait to upgrade my 365.
Awesome! Keep us updated! Especially on the weights!
The weights are here! However, I ordered the wrong grip module. I accidentally ordered the module with the cutout for a safety. My 365 doesn't have a safety. So I sent it back for exchange. So now I hurry up and wait!
The anticipation! I hope you’ve received it by now and are enjoying!
@ Firearms InSight, I have it and the weights installed. Love it! I did have a small issue installing the mag catch (I installed an extended mag catch) the button that locks the catch in, it didn't seat right, therefore I couldn't insert a magazine. But I finally got it seated and it works great! The weights definitely take the sharpness out of the recoil. All in all, it's definitely worth the money. The increased grip purchase and reduced recoil makes this a great CCW weapon!
Just received my WCG P365XL grip module today. This video was outstanding. I was able to install the mag release and grip module within 5 mins. Thanks.
Glad we could help! Thanks for the comment!
I had a problem installing the magazine release. You did a great job explaining the process. Thanks for the great video!
Happy to help! Thanks for the support!
Do I order the XL for my 365x? I just need the flush 12
I believe so! They should match up. Wilson could probably answer that question best though!
hank you. I ordered my moduels today. I hope it goes as smooth for me as you did it. Great job.
Let us know how it goes!
Hardest part is installing the mag release, very tight fit.
It can be a pain! Use a finger in the module to help guide it through!
and... theyre on sale right now, $13 off!
Good to know!!
you seem... _bothered._
Never that
Just installed mine... The hardest part was that stupid mag release... 😂 Damn thing. Feels great! Thx!
That seems to be the consensus for most installs lol glad to hear it worked out!
Pretty sweet gun
Thanks!
Just put mine on and I was hoping for more ohh ahh.
I think it’s a really nice grip. The functionality of it is parallel to the other aftermarket grips In it’s class IMO. For what you’re spending, the WC is definitely worth it.
@Firearms InSight after holding it and comparing it to the OG it is better!
Received 2 P365XL grip modules from Wilson Combat today. They do not offer the FDE color with a manual safety cut out. So I got a guide jig from Osage County Guns for cutting same with a dremmel tool and of course the jig won’t fit in the grip module because it is thicker polymer near the right rear corner than a standard Sig grip. So you have to trim down the jig or try something else. I had another Sig P365 XL grip module with the ms cut outs, so I put the 2 grips side by side and put a 3/32” Allen wrench through the holes at the rear of them to line them up and clipped them together about half way with steel spring clips. Then used the old grip ms cut outs as a guide to dremmel out the new. Worked great. However, while doing this I noticed that the new Wilson grips are Soo thin in the corners where the sides meet the front that I could see light through them. This is very concerning, and I plan on contacting Wilson Combat customer service about this. Both grip modules are like this
Keep us updated on this! Interested to hear what they say!
@@firearmsinsight I talked to Wilson Combat customer service today. They said they had never heard of this before and asked me to send them pictures. It was pretty difficult to get a good shot of the thin areas, but got a couple of fairly good ones and sent them over. We’ll see what happens next
@@firearmsinsight Wilson sent a return authorization and will send replacements
Hope everything has been replaced and working well!
That magazine release took me way longer then it should of.
Using the finger on the inside to guide it through was the key for me!
Just got mine in. I am bummed, no sticker! Love the bigger grip vs the Hogue wrap.
Sorry to hear about the sticker. That’s the worst! Enjoy the grip!
Real shame they didn't upgrade to a pic rail, definitely dropped the ball. I went with an Icarus grip and its hands down better but a lot more money.
The Icarus grips are premier, but with that premier quality comes an premier price tag lol. I like the WC grip for the money.
I believe their main reasoning for keeping the sig proprietary rail is for holster fitment. The rail and trigger guard are the same, so they will fit all the holsters
Why don’t they make extra Mags for this gun lol WTF
They do! You can find them on their website. Unless they’re sold out currently?
www.shopstoeger.com/magazines/34058.html
Nice job 👍.....I'm sending you mine to do ...😉
Send it over 😂😂
Thanks for the great video!!! however they are not any good videos on how to switch the magazine to the other side for left-handed shooters... could you possibly do that on one of your p365xl?
I believe you can do this by simply just popping it out and flipping it to the other side
