    I purchased a PX4 Storm in 45acp about 5 years ago. After years and thousands of rounds, it has been extremely reliable...and I never had an issue with the safety.

      I have one in 9mm, one in .45, and one in .40. All 3 have been excellent. Thousands of rounds through all 3. No real malfunctions. I hate that you have had problems with yours.

      I’ve had mine since around 2008 or the 2009 & had that gun in the 9mm with NO malfunctions ever since with thousands+ rounds through it & I JUST love it & never giving it up with being an EDC & home defense gun as well but MOSTLY it’s an EDC, it’s a great gun with a few MODS to it from Beretta’s website & got Alien Gear Holsters holster as well I use for it, it JUST love it. I give this gun a TOTAL 9.5 to a 10 & sometimes a 10 but the only thing I didn’t like is that they could’ve at least made the mag release button just a tiny bit bigger or longer but still love it & never had any malfunctions through it. But it is these two idiots saying it’s the guns fault but in my opinion it’s them bc they just CAN’T aim the freakin gun at their targets, lol.

      No need even mentioning a .45. On this site everything is 9mm, the guy doesn't even know the 357 Sig and .40 even exist.

    If you shoot striker all the time, this gun takes some getting in time and feel with. This gun excels for those of us who shoot double action revolvers. Has great ergonomics easy slide release and mag release. Our family has seven of them as our go to gun. Tried glocks, xds, p99s and others but preferred the px4 because we shoot revolvers mostly double action.The long first pull is not foreign to us, it is also safer in pressure situation because of long pull. We use safety levers to rack gun, ours are decocker only. The levers are another option to rack your gun if you injure a hand. This is a combat gun, that's why it is matched to the cx4 carbine. So go easy on Eric and Chad if they shot it all the time they would shoot it better.

    I have carried the PX4 Compact for almost a year now. It shoots great. I have never had an issue with the safety, and I just put about 1200 rounds through it during a two-day Concealed Carry Tactics class five weeks ago. Not a single issue. It's a trooper.

    I like how y'all make real, honest reviews- expressing your actual opinions and experiences with guns. However, it isn't the gun in this case, guys. Poor trigger control and recoil anticipation equals missed shots no matter what handgun is being fired. There is a difference between accuracy, and the shooters ability to shoot the gun accurately.

      Agree. I can tell the guy jerked the trigger a couple times. The PX4 Storm has a harder trigger pull than a lot of other guns. I think it's like 12 lbs the first time and 6 after that. If you are used to a striker fire with a crisp trigger pull, you may have a harder time with this trigger which is this guy's problem I think.

      I agree. So, I have my TH-cam settings with auto play off yet for some reason this video started just after I watched the first shots video of the PX4 by Honest Outlaw. It’s funny cause he loved it and was very accurate with it. By contrast, their shots( just like this video review) are all over the place. Chad hit with every round on his second magazine but kept complaining about the fact that this gun is not striker fired and it’s also not a Glock. I’m normally a huge fan of this channel but their biases are sooo obvious. This reminds of of Hickok45’s review of the Chiappa Rhino revolver. He mentions his love of Smith&Wesson and calls the Italian revolver ugly. He then goes on to shoot every target on his range with accuracy, yet he still can’t get over the esthetics of the Rhino!

    I own two 92's and 2 PX4's. I've had no reliability issues with any of them. If I had to make a choice between the 92/M9 and the PX4, I'd take the PX4 any day of the week. To me it's just a more ergonomic handgun.

      I know this comment is kinda old now, but how is the muzzle flip on the Px4 as opposed to the 92? I have a 92 now but I'm thinking of picking up a Px4, as from what I can tell, the muzzle flip is a lot less.

  • @cjhs77338
    @cjhs77338 7 ปีที่แล้ว +31

    The thing is that they are used to their pistols kicking more and are anticipating that. You can see them tensing and pulling the shots. The rotating barrel of the px4 changes some of the upward recoil to rotational recoil which your arm absorbs naturally.

    • @jeremyfoss505
      @jeremyfoss505 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I would have to agree with you sir! I have found that out as well, when others shoot my PX4. People are anticipating that sharper recoil impulse and tend to slap the trigger.

  • @Kissypooh
    @Kissypooh 7 ปีที่แล้ว +93

    The contrived concern over the Beretta safety is total BS. It's a double action / single action gun (because it has an exposed hammer). A round should always be in the chamber, just like a revolver. When it comes time to reload (put a new magazine in), the slide release should always be used as the gun was designed. M9 haters are completely illogical. Double action allows the pistol to be fired quickly (in an emergency). Single action allows the pistol to be fired accurately with the very first round. There is no scenario where the M9 or the smaller model you are showing here will need to be racked in any kind of emergency (with accidental engagement of the safety). Double action only is a major compromise, comparatively, whether in a revolver or in a pistol. Exposed hammers kick ass because they are safer, more accurate, and provide more options to the shooter.

    • @ivanpetropov6276
      @ivanpetropov6276 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      rwc1234x exactly. You have more options. I like racking the slide with it on safe so when I carry it off safe the hammer is already down. 12 pound trigger pull with a firing pin safety is more comforting to carry for me personally.

    • @KingOfBattle119
      @KingOfBattle119 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      People with smaller hands can struggle to get up to the slide release, especially under pressure. With gloves on (speaking about the M9) I personally found it challenging to release the slide without changing my grip on the gun and in a high pressure situation would prefer to rack the slide on a reload anyway. Would prefer to rely on gross motor skills while reloading in a close range pistol fight. I would agree with IV8888 on this one.

    • @Fatherkai
      @Fatherkai 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean, the big question is if they had a safety or a decocker, from what I see the newer models have a decocker, or reset safety, where the safety always returns to DA. The older is literally a manual safety that needs to be disengaged.
      I do agree, no one should complain about a the slide safety, proper training and more importantly understanding your battery of arms will mitigate any disadvantages.

  • @mcsc730
    @mcsc730 7 ปีที่แล้ว +32

    Man this pistol is so slept on. Glad i got it !!
    And i never had issues with the safety coming down before a shot or racking the slide. The bat wings make that impossible imo.

    I've owned a PX4 inox full size in .40 for almost 3 years. It's the weapon I carry most days. My trip to the range this past weekend put me over 3500 rounds through the gun with not a single malfunction. I've read some comments here about this pistol being inaccurate, and I'm no expert marksman by any stretch of the imagination, but I find that I shoot my PX4 with better speed and accuracy than my other pistols. It fits my hand well, and the recoil is very manageable. I've been very happy with this gun.

    My 92fs is the most accurate 9mm I own but yes I did upgrade it with all metal internals and the G conversion besides a good pair of g10 hogue grips! It's a badass gun now but damn near cost what a 92a3 cost but with the D spring and a trigger job you can't hate on it it's a bad ass piece of hardware for old-school technology definitely my favorite 9mm if I had a SHTF pistol it would be it

      There are also differences with the G and F models. Eric would probably be happy with the G model instead of the F model. F has a decocker and safety that stays in the safety position. The G model is only a decocker and would not have the issue he complained about @7:14

    • @Dumachode133
      @Dumachode133 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @dorzak975 My wife prefers the F model for that extra safety measure. It's an additional piece of mind. Of course you still have to train yourself thru muscle memory to disengage the safety. The average person who's not into Firearms tends to like the F model. I'm sure others prefer the G model. Whatever fits your comfort that's most important.

    I've had my PX4 Storm for 9 years and never had a problem. It does shoot different than a lot of other guns because instead of resting your target on top of the front sight you have to cover your target with the front sight or else it shoots low. And to disassemble it you don't need to pull the slide back like a Glock, you can just pull down on the take down lever and pull it straight off. You can even take the slide off like in the movies with a round in the chamber, I've done it with snap caps.

    • @regulator7931

    My first one that I ever bought. 9mm double single. Usually use 147 grain but have also used 124 and 115. The very first few hundred rounds out of the box the slide several times would not fully slide back. Once broken in never had issue. Always is good brass. I have shot aluminum casing. Not had issue. Have shot thousands through it.. I have never been a fan of the 92 model. But this one is a good choice. But my edc is something different.

  • @ckim6400

    As far as the decocker/ saftey when loading a magazine, racking the slide and accidentally engaging it is because your brain is trained to grab the serrated slide. It is far easier/faster/ergonomic to grab both ears on the decocker to rack the slide. 100% positive grab. But I understand novices go through a learning curve-LOL

  • @tkarlmann
    @tkarlmann 7 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    Short Version: "OMG, it's not a Glock; surprised it even shoots!" Way too much &itching! FYI: you can easily change the gun to eliminate the safety -- surprised you didn't know that. If it's not grouping well, it's not the gun! I don't see the value in "the first shots, ever" sessions. Hickok45 always shoots the guns awhile before the video rolls. I'm done here. TD
    Both shooters in this video LOOK like they've never shot a pistol before!

    • @neutronalchemist3241
      @neutronalchemist3241 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah. The universal advice to have a dependable firearm when it will matter is "practice with your gun". Then we have plenty of "This is the first time i shoot this gun" videos and "Oh, I'm not used with the reset", "Oh, really the slide release is there? I wasn't expecting it" and even "How i'm supposed to field strip this?". Cause obviously, in a dire situation, you are going to find loaded handguns lying on the ground like in a first-person shooter video game, and you'll have to choose carefully the one with wich you can double-tap the first time you handle it.

  • @davidwitt4565

    This is exactly how I have felt about this pistol. I am a huge 92 fan and was extremely excited by the PX4 when I got my hands on it. It felt great, but when I shot it, I couldn't have been more disappointed. The accuracy I had come to expect from the 92 wasn't there. My take on it was the rotating barrel design vs the tip up barrel operation. There is a reason may different pistols are made. They fit for different people in a different way. They are tools and should be thought of that way. The right tool for the right person is the key to success. You can't blame Eric and Chad for their opinion on this particular pistol. If you like it and it works for you, get it and enjoy. If not, find what works and go with that.

    Eric, you do know that the safety on the px4 and 92 is a cam safety that rotates a pin so that the hammer drops on a solid piece of of steel rather than on the pin, hence the decocker feature and the single /double action, the guns are designed to safely carry one in the chamber, unlike the Glock,especially the gen 1 and 2 which are notorious for going off on their own.

    Right hand twist actually. Twist gives recoil a rotary component, and it is what causes (and is counteracted by) the rotating barrel.

    If a PX4 seems to hit low it may be partially because it being designed to be shot using a "combat sights" hold (the front post right ON the target point, instead of just under it like with a Glock or other "pumpkin on a post" guns. So, if you use a 6 o'clock hold with the PX4 it will seem to shoot low but it's actually shooting where it is pointed.

    This was my second firearm purchase and by far my favorite polymer handgun. There is just something about the weight and the way the recoil hits you right in the palm instead of flipping up that I really enjoy. I learned how to take my time and how to do a proper trigger press on this pistol. I wish this would have been my first pistol I made a mistake by buying a single stack compact slim 9. Shooting that carry gun really ingrained some bad habits my first few months shooting and I'm still working hard to go slow and just squeeze the trigger and not tense up or flinch. Thanks for the review!

    You guys are just Beretta haters and thats fine. I hate striker fire guns with sponge bob triggers. I like the location of the 92/Storm safety, it is up high and out of the way of my thumbs. I have never accidentally engaged the safety when pulling back the slide. Sounds like a training issue to me. I also fill much more comfortable carrying it on a loaded chamber with the safety on vs a striker fire. I have no problem reaching the safety because I have large hands and I disengage it on the drawl. I also like the heavy double action first shot because you can't take shots back.

    IT'S THE LENGTH OF PULL (BACK STRAP!) They probably have shorter length of pull in the grips which is causing trouble with accuracy... change it to large back strap and they should have the pin point accuracy with PX4 and it's not the trigger that's causing them to miss.

    A great gun for home defense. Love the fact I can have a round in the chamber and not worry about accidental trigger pull. I did switch-out the factory safety for a 92 style and the flip from safe to fire is better. Adding some Talon Grips improves grip & feel tremendously. And lastly some Truglo night sights and a StreamLight TLR-2. The only negative was replacing the sights.... a motherF*$# to remove.

    This is actually a really nice pistol for the price. Here on the east coast you can get them under 400. Totally worth it for that price point. Also the subcompact is a nice shooter, and yes I guess the whole point of this pistol is the rotating barrel but the sub is a nice shooter. To get around that safety issue you claim to have I would recommend switching to the decocker only. Or just buy the compact carry. Which is kind of over priced. All though all the parts you get is cheaper than converting it your self. But still nice gun
