Funny this video came out. Earlier this year, I visited my grandfather for his 80th birthday. Vietnam Marine Vet, who has used everything from 1897 Shotguns to those Dutch Golf Ball Grenades. When I went up, I brought a few pistols with me, a rifle to show him, and a gift gun. I get done unloading a bunch of stuff the family sent up to him. We sit in the garage for an hour or two looking over all his new swag and talking. Then I go into the bed of my truck and pull out a shotgun case. Hand it off to him and he looks baffled as could be. He opens it up and looks giddy as a school boy. It was a brand new Mossberg 500 from the factory with an 18.5 inch security barrel and a 26 inch barrel threaded for chokes. He worked the action, looked it over, and had a giant smile on his face. "I tell you, son, that's the only gun I'd actually accept from you. Wanted one for years and any time one comes up for sale, I have something else I want more." Three days later, an Op-Sol Adapter arrived since he loves Aguila Mini-shells for an old British double he has with 2 inch chambers.
Got my godson his first real firearm for Xmas. Got a killer deal on Black Friday. Rossi lever action with Simmons 4x scope (and I found a airsoft red dot that fit the rails perfectly) he also is getting a Glock co2 pistol to go with my RXM under the tree. Actually got a Gucci 10/22 for my birthday this past year. I absolutely love it! Dead set accurate. Has become my favorite target shooter
The first Ruger 10/22 was a Wal-Mart exclusive. They were made in the 1990s and were more than the standard model. They are a collectors item now and worth a pretty penny if you can find one or still have one. They also had a identical Wal-Mart exclusive matching Mini-14 at the same time.
Those along with the Winchester 1300 Defender with the polished blue and wood stock are what you SHOULD have bought from Wal-Mart back in the day. You could get those Winchesters for like $189 back then. They were 6-shot and nicer than a Mossberg for even less money.

I have an awesome neighbor who watches over my property. He even waters my plants and garden when I go on vacation. I got him an 1858 Rem. Sheriff model. We are in MA and he hasn’t jumped through the Queen’s hoops yet and I wanted him to have something better than a pointy stick. I’m pan lubing some Kerr bullets and plan to send over a 100 box of paper cartridges and a tin of caps.
Agree with the first one already! Everyone should have a 10/22. I bought my oldest son one for Christmas years ago. Would have gotten my younger son one as well but he was stuck on an AR platform 22. I should get him a 10/22 now lol
I think a Heritage Rough Rider would make for a great Christmas gift, especially considering all of the custom cylinders and grips they have available for it and you can do all of that for less than $200.
Eric thanks for an action packed year of content!!! I’d like to wish you and your entire family a Merry Christmas 🎄 and a Happy New Year 🎊🎆!! Looking forward to seeing your future content!!
I'd like to see content comparing monocore suppressors like Liberty, vs Baffle designed suppressors. (Both for rifles and pistols) I would also like to see a comparison between the Geissele AR triggers, especially to those of us who have only really used GI triggers on the AR platform.

Something a “practical only” guy might never buy for himself. Even a 22lr upper kit from cmmg or something.
