I agree. Most flatshooting or low recoil guns that I've shot tend to have the tilting barrel designs or a small slide (looking at you CZ). The rotating barrel, low muzzle flip, and large slides make the PX4 Storm the best of both worlds for me. It's sacrilegious to say but I like the PX4 Storm over the Beretta 92. I'm hoping Beretta makes a steel frame version of the PX4 in the future.
I have had the full size in 40 S&W now for about two years and have run 2,000 rounds through her without a single stoppage, using all types of ammo including lots of hand loads. I replaced the decocker levers with the stealth levers and converted to decock only. Changed the stock hammer spring with the Langdon #12 lb silicone, D/A pull is very smooth, crisp and clean. The most accurate and reliable pistol I own. Absolutely love this pistol. I got it brand new at a deal that I couldn't pass up' and was the only reason that I bought it. Lets face it, it's an odd looking pistol but fell in love with her at our first dance. This is the ugly duckling that could, and does flawlessly.
Compact, slick to hold, accurate, and VERY stable recoil. Everything I personally love when it comes to firearms. Only thing I don't understand is why people say it's ugly. It's very slick and isn't a block like the Glock.
There's a Beretta PX4 Storm model JXC9GEL collaboration with Ernest Langdon. It has lower profile controls, some incredible sights installed, and a lighter trigger. It's a 'G' model (decocker only). It's the Cadillac of the PX4 Storm pistols.
Ernest knows Berettas better than I think Beretta does. I had a Storm compact that I did all of the LTT goodies, and I have yet to find a DA/SA pistol that was better, or easier to shoot. The man is a Jedi!
@@guerom1367 Yes - and they are more expensive. I just did a quick search and it looks like about $795 as of today. Totally worth it though as if you bought the stock model and added all the upgrades, you'd end up spending at least that much.
Immensely underrated gun! I carry a PX4 Compact Carry everyday AIWB with a D hammer spring and OEM flush hammer. I also have a langdon edition fullsize that I shoot in competition. The OEM support from beretta is fantastic (trigger kits, springs, mags, sights, etc.). The gun shoots incredibly soft and is incredibly reliable. I have been hounding beretta to put the APX grip texture on it though. If they made a smaller single stack version, I'd eat that up as well.
I agree with the OEM parts. I really like that about Beretta! Really want to get my hands on a compact and spend some time with it to compare with my CZ P07. I am actually afraid I will find the PX4 is better!
KSGunGuy thanks to both you guys I pick led up a g2c yesterday’s put Hundred rounds through it not one malfunction nothing best gun for the money thanks again for the reviews guys
Oh yea, you can also EASILY change it over to a decocker only model (Type G in Beretta parlance) with a simple punch. Makes here even more nice for potential carry.
I love mine...had it almost five years...not sure how many rounds have been thru it probably 1500 or so and not a single malfunction...did a few upgrades to it from Beretta... spring kit... steel trigger...92 style decocker levers... and just love it...very underrated Beretta...
I added the Hogue rubber finger-knurled grip sleeve and it made a world of difference and even made it look better, if that's possible - it's already such a beauty.
If you think the full size PX4 is good wait till you try the Compact. And stepping that up a notch will bring you to the Earnest Langdon inspired Compact Carry. The PX4 series is IMO a very underrated line of pistols. I'm looking forward to your long review, I think you'll be impressed.
I've owned the full size for a few years, it's a sweet shooter! Best part is it shares the same magazines with my C X 4 Storm carbine. Beretta is the oldest firearm manufacturer still in business.
Stoked for this video. I've had the pleasure of shooting one at a local steel challenge a few months back and couldn't believe how fast I could run it within the first mag of shooting it.
I've had mine for a couple of years now and its so nice. It's like a Toyota. It just works when you need it and if you put the pedal to the metal it will go fast. It will forgive you if you neglect it for a little while. No complaints from me!
For a 17 year old model, it sure looks like it holds its own. That's one fast semi-auto. I think it looks better than the 92. Looks like what a 1911 could have morphed into. Just looks like a classic gun. Nothing like a Glock brick.
I’ve shot the PX4 Storm again this year (last time was around my mid 20s and 34 y/o now). All I can say is that I should’ve held it better back then. Now I’m VERY ACCURATE with this. Only thing I still don’t like about this is the long DA trigger pull and the wide grip, taking me extra time to fix my grip (at least my hands are big to the point it really isn’t difficult to grasp). I love the look of this and this is why I chose to rent it in my mid 20s.
Love the PX4 storm its my favorite gun. I only bought it because it was the only one left at the gun store. Due to the riots we are having and the failure of our mayors and governors to protect law abiding citizens everyone is buying guns. At first I was hesitant because it was the only one left. But i figured my mayor Garcetti is citing with rioters what choice do I have something is better than nothing. Boy was I surprised when I took it out to shoot. Its an awesome gun. I love it. One of my favorites. I'm waiting on a second one.
The PX4 Storm is on my bucket list to own. I had originally wanted a Beretta 92 but after holding one and then the PX4 Storm, the latter just felt much better in my hands. This damn Covid kicked in and people went nuts buying up all the firearms (and TP) that when I was able to afford it I could never find one and ended up with a H&K VP9SK. Like that's a bad thing, lol.
I found your videos a while back when you were a guest on The Yankee Marshall's live chat, man you put up some excellent content. Love the videos and im envious of your range setup haha
I think you're gonna like this gun a lot down the line, you should look into the carry upgrades that Ernest Langdon help proliferate for the platform. I could easily see you adding some kind of stippling or grip tape to it down the line, the stock texture is probably one of the guns biggest weakspots.
I've got a LTT Compact Carry and a full size 9MM and love them both. I've done a few upgrades to the full size to get it closer the the Compact Carry. In my opinion the Compact Carry is about the best CC gun on the market. I own Glocks, Walthers, CZ, Ruger and more and I daily carry the PX4 CC.
I got the compact version of this gun over a year ago and it's my baby....a NICE shooting gun. Eventually want to get the full-size. I wouldn't bother with the sub-compact since it doesn't have the rotating barrel. I think you'll like this gun a lot. I also got a Tanfaglio Witness based off a few of your videos and I LOVE that thing. It's right next to my PX4.
I own the sub-compact. Its my every day carry. A little heavy but a great trigger , very dependable and it holds 12 rounds plus one in the tube. It will remain at my side for these reasons. Will be purchasing another in 45 acp.. Thanks for the review on a very under rated firearm.
Did you ever look at the PX4 Compact Carry...so that you could get the benefit of the rotating barrel? I believe that the barrel is 0/2” longer on the Compact Carry...and the grip a bit longer as well.
Sethrad. Not long ago I purchased the full size in 45acp. Your are correct about the barrel. I cannot believe how smooth the firearm handles the recoil. The rotating barrel is a outstanding feature. Try the 45acp yourself. Again I state the gun does not get the reviews it deserves.
I have plans to get one in the summer chambered in .40sw. I've seen places selling them for $350 new. I can't wait, might even make it my winter carry.
I have owned a PX4 for years, and I really do like it. I don't think it recoils that much less than a tilting barrel setup(that I could tell) but to me It does have noticeably less muzzle flip.
I think you have the best videos. I really like how you mix shooting footage in with the commentary, so it's not just 5 minutes of talking or 5 minutes of shooting, etc. Plus, you're a great shooter so you can see what the gun is capable of:)
Thanks for another great video! Keep em comin! I've got the PX4 sub compact and I like it pretty well, especially how easy it is to convert to decocker only or "G"
I got one in .45 and love it. I converted mine into a "G" model (decocker only) by removing the safety detent, takes about 20 minutes. In my opinion, the slide is a decent place for a decocker but not for a safety.
The full size was technically my first pistol. I owned it for about 5 years and recently sold it to a relative to use the money to buy a gen 3 17. It was a good gun for sure.

I've owned px4 for many years now. IT was the first gun that I ever picked up that felt really good in my hands. And it shoots great, probably the best shooting gun I have ever owned. It's just a shame the rotating barrel makes almost impossible to run a suppressor.
Beretta makes very good hand guns it would be nice to see more reviews on berettas , the beretta Apx is an excellent gun u will have fun doing a review on that one also
Rented this and the P226. I was expecting the 226 to win easily in terms of accuracy and shoot ability . To my surprise, the storm was way better than the 226, and I’m a Glock shooter. I was going to get the 226 Scorpion, but now I’ll save myself about $500.
That's the first handgun I bought when I turned 21. it's a very reliable gun. People say it's an ugly gun but, I think it's pretty cool looking.
Dylan Watkins reminds me of something from Buck Rodgers.
It is the single most attractive firearm of all time in my opinion. Beretta set the mark with this one.
My first gun also. 40 cal. It's a smooth shooter and shes beautiful!
Looks pretty ugly in photos, much better in person.
How do people think it’s an ugly gun? It looks beautiful imo
As a long time PX4 owner, I can confirm that this gun really is as great as you made it out to be.
I bought my PX4 Storm .40 a few years ago and I love it. It is beautiful, accurate, and a proven workhorse. Beretta...from 1526...1526!
I have a PX4 Storm in .40SW. The rotating barrel helps a lot with that one. A very underrated pistol.

Just a heads up. Beretta factory will tell you to put gun grease under the barrel where the locking lug meets. Because the barrel rotates on the lug.
You can tell that it’s a wear spot too. Bought mine used and all oil spots other than the barrel all have wear spots
It’s definitely an interesting shooter. I found it to be more pleasant than I’d originally anticipated. Great first shots brother!

About time the PX4 strom get some love. I get one in all 3 caliber. Try the 45, it's very soft and smooth shooting.
I bought a PX4 Storm in .45 about 5 years ago, and it was well worth the money.
This pistol is fantastic for newer shooters. My wife said she felt minimal recoil when compared to several other 9mm pistol of the same size.

I've seldom seen a pistol generate so much enthusiasm after just a few gentle squeezes of the trigger.
I've had the full size Storm in 9mm for about 6 years now. Love it! Once of the best pistols in my arsenal.
Both an under the radar & under rated pistol.
You are the first channel I go to for info on a firearm! Always straight information for the good or the bad. Thanks
My PX4 is in .45ACP, and it shoots as well as any other semi-auto that I have! No reliability issues, and it is a fun gun to play with.
