I know property management don't have much info on units but I would see since it's a 2019 unit to see if warranty is still good and register for 10 years. I believe that would be a good option but if not then dye+refrigerant+labor be cheaper then replacing
Too many people don't bother to read or listen. If you have a maintenance limit, you can't do all those super-tech tricks even if you want to. What part don't they get about the word LIMIT?
i have mixed feelings about aluminum evaps . I think they are more prone to leaking due to it having a lower tensile strenght , in addition to that you have 2 dissimilar metals in contact ( the copper lineset brazed to the evap) that could cause problems due to chemical incompatability
@@AB_HVAC IMO, that coil is not going to get any better over time, certainly not years. It's under warranty now, but a year or two down the road it won't be. They have to pay for refrigerant now since most of it leaked out anyway. An additional hour or two of labor and a little more on the refrigerant side and they could be good for another 10 to 15 years. If I was the owner, that's the option I'd be taking. Just saying. Were they given that option?
@Bill_CBR they were given that option but with the price of labor of doin that job it costed more. They didn't wanna go through with it. At 8am today I filled it up and dropped a dye in there
Gotta run more pressure to find leak with bubbles.. I buy kids blow bubbles liquid. $5 for 1/2 gallon. Also, using the detector, fan the area first to clear out refrigerant that has already leaked out.
Unit is under warranty but the amount of money in refrigerant and labor for the job isn't as cheap as just a gas and go with a sealant and at the time of the service call I couldn't call the supply house to see if the coil was in stock. They're trying to get a tenant in there as fast as possible, and this is the option that suits their time frame.
Which property manangement /home warranty is good to work with… Some I’m dealing with, I’m dropping them… just wondering if there are more good ones out there, also I’m from indianapolis…
Man, in my opinion, it's hit or miss with them. You just gotta try and see if they work with you on things in corelation to the workload they give you. On my end all I see are the cheap limits they give 🤷🏾♂️

It's under a 5yr warranty becausebit was never registered and you're right, they went with the cheaper option of just the dye and refrigerant
I would say the leak in in the Evap coil, Nice job! Keep em coming!
Imma keep trying 😅

Yeah it's tough
shut down service valves, add nitrogen to 250psi, leak check again, you will find bubbles and multiple hits from the detector.
Pretty much just isolate the evap coil from the condenser and test it that way?

I definitely don't like them
5 year warranty, depending on install date, could still be under warranty.
It's under 5yr but the labor and refrigerant is a more expensive option than just gas it up and add a sealant.

@@AB_HVAC Well that's great that at least they knew. "You can lead a horse to water" as they say. Nice you were able to get back so soon.
@Bill_CBR I try to give them as many options as I can
I like that leak detector, but once you go ultra won't go back. I still use my Field Piece but I find more with the ultrasonic .
I've heard those things are top tier. I bought that feildpiece myself, I hope I can get the ultrasonic one in the future

🤣🤣 Quick lil stop at the dollar general for some leak detector. I'm remembering that as an option 👌🏾🙏🏽
Very high percentage of the time it’s in the EVAP
Facts!!
Just asking why put leak sealer in that new of a system quick search would tell you if coil is under warranty. Thanks

good video i use the same leak detector 🔥
Another beeping smoke sensor? LOL!
🤣🤣
Yes. Aluminum, coil = leak. Ur doing a fantastic job. I dont think I could deal with the property mgmt . Shit Like u do.
🤣 Just got no faith in them at all huh
Good job AB
