Well the Ironisland are bitter rivals of the Westerlands. So they will join Rhaenyra only to spite the Lannisters and raid the ritch Westerlands. And there is the Legend of the red kracken Dalton Greyjoy.
Well I mean the options are: Join the green faction. Sail the fleet around Westeros and fight the Valryians at sea. Join the counsel as Master of ships. Or Join the blacks, raid the reach and westernlands without punishment from the queen They chose the easier and more profitable route.
@Haflinger01 no it isn't, westeros had evolved after the targaryen conquest. Instead of 7 divided lands easy to raid and sack it became a single domain. The old way was gone after Aegons conquest and it won't be seen again until Euron in Winds of Winter
@@zachphillips7997 Well some had try to revived it and one most notably was in fact Dalton Greyjoy, who was in power during the Dance of Dragons. The slot as Master of ships on the green councel was fild by a Lannister. So the Ironisland will join the Blacks and the Ironman will raid Lannisport.
@Haflinger01 yes true and I agree but I don't think it's the old way. Just based on the fact that Rheanyra gave them leave to attack those lands. I really do hope we get to see the red Kraken as he is my favorite Greyjoy in the lore.
I hope HOTD doesn't deviate much from the books like GOT especially when it comes to showcasing some of the Minor Noble Houses & it's prominent members. Westorsi politics is more interesting if there are more players playing a game of thrones or dancers dancing the dance of dragons.
The combined fleets of Houses Lannister, Redwyne and Hightower plus the Royal Fleet itself definitely outnumber House Velaryon especially after the Sea Snake fought for years over the Stepstones. The Mandarly fleet isn't of much use so if it comes to naval powers, the blacks need House Greyjoy
Dorne is still a totally independent country at this point. Although, foreign countries often time involve themselves in civil wars of rival countries so they are still on the board.
It’s smart of them because their vassals were divided, as some joined the blacks and others the greens. If they had joined, they could either lose their lands and titles to one of their vassals if they joined the greens or if they had joined Aegon II, then they might lose their heads at the hands of Cregan Stark since they would support usurpers.
It was the Baratheons, Hghtowers, Lannisters, some of the Reach, half of the Riverlands, and later the Velaryons for the Greens against the Velaryons(initially), half of the Riverlands, the Arryns, the Starks, some of the Reach, Tullys(eventually) and the Greyjoys(eventually) for the Blacks.
Spoilers; Interesting to think, Daemon hardly participated in the war till near the very end. Guy totally sat by as his allies were being smelted, and then when he decided to leave, he couldn't manage to track down the largest living Dragon in Westeros even with help. Aemond had to go to him 💀 And the Riverlands, as someone else pointed out, really did have some heavy plot armor. After Aemond and Vhagar brought their own "Dragon's Wroth" upon the Riverlands, it's a wonder they had the numbers or supplies to handle the Lannisters or Baratheons after that. Ser Criston getting defeated was one thing, Aemond's annihilation hadn't started yet. But after? I've been told the Books go over how much of a wasteland the Riverlands are from the perspectives of just about everyone who marches through them. So where did "The Lads" get the plot armor to handle the Lannisters and Baratheons? Also.... *"Aegon the King!"*
You trying so hard lmao...Just accept the fact other than having a better dragon there was nothing which Aemond had over Daemon...Daemon won the Black's King's Landing without breaking a sweat and Aemond's foolishness cost the Greens King's Landing
@@buzzkill36 And the Black's lost King's Landing due to the Green's preemptive measures. The Black's started thr blockade and then taxed the hell out of them. @@thalmoragent9344 The Blacks lost King's Landing to their own stupidity. They should have not taxed so heavily the smallfolk who suffered most from the war. The Greens didn't do anything that lost the Blacks King's Landing. They just removed the royal treasury and split it up between three locations. Now Boros Baratheon did reclaim King's Landing in the name of the Greens, after it was lost to massive riots. But the Greens were not the cause of the Blacks losing King's Landing. Also, how do you know Aemond is a better swordsmen then Daemon? Sure Criston Cole trained Aemond, and Daemon lost to Criston Cole in a tourney. But that was only once. Now, Aemond does have youth on his side, but we both know how the conflict plays out between the two.
I mean I think it’s safe to say House Stark is gonna go to the Blacks “there has never lived a Stark who forgot an oath.” Knowing what we know of Stark honor this oath is what secures them to the blacks more than all else and win or lose they will side with the ones they swore the oath to.
Really wish we could have seen the Northern armies atleast participate in the battles and do fighting instead of you know doing nothing till the very end
They do in form of winter wolves formed from small folks, second and third sons of lords, old men who had nothing to lose in the war numbering around 3000 fought two battles in the war being fish feed(the battle that killed Criston cole(dishonourably but yes) and ended lannisters involvement in the war on the battlefield end) as well as first battle of tumbleton where roddy the ruin killed two of Otto’s nephews (one of whom were lord Hightower) before dying of his wounds. The main stark army because of multiple issues like requirement of men for harvest for the upcoming winter as well as tiredness from the civil war that had ended in the north just 3 years before war broke in the south, didn’t start to march until rhenyera’s death
The Baratheons are not unpredictable but they are very quick to anger. Duncan the Tall went from allying with Lyonel Baratheon to having to fight him over a cancelled betrothal of Egg's son to his daughter. Robert, Stannis, Renly and their father Steffon were quite stiff and predictable. Robert was only a powerful fighter because he was unconventional in terms of tactics. He was easy to manipulate otherwise. The Tyrells refused to join in the fighting, as the lady of the house didn't want her young son threatened. They basically laid down their authority. The Rowans, Tarlys, Costaynes, Mullendores, Grimms and of course House Beesbury all supported the blacks as a result. The Riverlands are not a kingdom but a region of Westeros loosely governed by House Tully. The seven kingdoms were The North, Westerlands, The Vale,The Reach, The Stormlands , The Iron Islands and Dorne- which the Targaryens always claimed even when they didn't rule it. The strongest armies are fielded by the Brackens , Blackwoods and Freys instead of their liege lord. Dorne is not in the discussion of the Dance as they were not part of the Seven Kingdoms- but they hate Daemon and even supported the Triarchy against him in the Stepstones. An exile from House Yrnwood, the Martells' eternal rival serves in Rheanyra's court, so this will turn Dorne even more against Rheanyra, though they traditionally never send armies north of the marches for any reason. House Caswell is not only one of the first houses to openly support Rheanyra, , they are the lords of Tumbleton, where two epic battles were fought that turned the war on its head. The Vale is all for Rheanyra, but their only major military move came near the end where they sent forces to attack the crossroads alongside the Riverlands and Cregan Stark's Northmen. Lady Jeyne interestingly became one of Aegon III's regents afterwards.
You know what your talking about but got some wrong Caswell holds bitter bridge but who is the Yronwood you are talking about I would love to know more

Well the Ironisland are bitter rivals of the Westerlands. So they will join Rhaenyra only to spite the Lannisters and raid the ritch Westerlands.
And there is the Legend of the red kracken Dalton Greyjoy.
Well I mean the options are:
Join the green faction. Sail the fleet around Westeros and fight the Valryians at sea. Join the counsel as Master of ships.
Or
Join the blacks, raid the reach and westernlands without punishment from the queen
They chose the easier and more profitable route.
@@zachphillips7997 Sounds terribly exhausting.
Not realy "the old way", right?
Has anyone ever said your voice is so soothing and compelling at the same time
I hope HOTD doesn't deviate much from the books like GOT especially when it comes to showcasing some of the Minor Noble Houses & it's prominent members.
Can't wait to see the red kraken in action

Is it just me or do they look completely clueless?
Just add that small "loading" circle above them and it'll be perfect!
To those who want to be spoiled, i believe the river lands, north, and vale join team blacks and tyrells join team green
Tyrells remain neutral and pretty much uninvolved during the entire war
It’s smart of them because their vassals were divided, as some joined the blacks and others the greens. If they had joined, they could either lose their lands and titles to one of their vassals if they joined the greens or if they had joined Aegon II, then they might lose their heads at the hands of Cregan Stark since they would support usurpers.
You forgot that the Iron Island were team black
Wrong, House Tyrell was neutral
It was the Baratheons, Hghtowers, Lannisters, some of the Reach, half of the Riverlands, and later the Velaryons for the Greens against the Velaryons(initially), half of the Riverlands, the Arryns, the Starks, some of the Reach, Tullys(eventually) and the Greyjoys(eventually) for the Blacks.
Spoilers;
Interesting to think, Daemon hardly participated in the war till near the very end. Guy totally sat by as his allies were being smelted, and then when he decided to leave, he couldn't manage to track down the largest living Dragon in Westeros even with help. Aemond had to go to him 💀
And the Riverlands, as someone else pointed out, really did have some heavy plot armor.
@@buzzkill36
And the Black's lost King's Landing due to the Green's preemptive measures. The Black's started thr blockade and then taxed the hell out of them.
Also, young Aemond is a better swordsman than Daemon. Trained by Ser Criston and had age on his size. Even the way they mount their Dragons in the end made note of how age was getting to Daemon.
@@thalmoragent9344 So how is this about Daemon? He was not in King's Landing if he was he would have prevented it
Anyways Daemon was knighted at 16 while Aemond is still getting training...also being trained by Cole dosen't make you better lmao... Rhaegar was trained by Gerold Hightower, Arthur Dayne and Barristan Selmy yet lost to Robert Baratheon

Fantastic video keep it up you're doing amazing job
I mean I think it’s safe to say House Stark is gonna go to the Blacks “there has never lived a Stark who forgot an oath.” Knowing what we know of Stark honor this oath is what secures them to the blacks more than all else and win or lose they will side with the ones they swore the oath to.
In the books they do
Starks need ages to assemble a army
Larys only join the greens because Alicents showed him what’s under her green dress 😂
He ain’t interested in that, he’s all about feet 🙈
No, it was because of the Hightowers, he became lord of Harrenhal
More than kingdoms are autonomous regions of a single kingdom, I know it's obvious, but it is estrange to hear it like that.
I am not going on any side cause i know everyone is going to die

That is actually correct. The Hightowers have long been known for promoting trade and commerce and staying out of wars thus causing Oldtown to prosper into the richest city of Westeros and becoming one of the wealthiest houses of Westeros. The Lannisters of course are equally financially savvy and control the third largest city Lannisport.
