This is so comprehensive! Your accommodation costs were much lower than I was expecting. I think we would spend about tjr same on dining out because we enjoy it and after sightseeing neither one of us want to cook! Good info on the car rental, phone and electricity too. Didn't consider all of that.
Hi - may I ask whats the average wage is in the US and the taxe rate. In Belgium the average wage is +- 2000 € with a tax rate of nearly 50% (you earn 5000 you get 2500 in your hands ;()...
As a crew member with years of travel experience, this is a very valuable video. I am exploring a Caribbean or Central American destination to live for a month in plans of retiring abroad. I will explore more videos for sure. Thanks for sharing and safe travels!
Yes, we can highly recommend Curacao! It's great but definitely more expensive than Central America. In Central America, we really liked Ometepe Nicaragua which is so beautiful, quiet, and peaceful. It's not good for nightlife though if that's your thing. We also like Panama City, and Lima Peru the Miraflores neighborhood. Good luck planning your retirement!
Just came across your channel…love it, very informative. We would love to long travel especially the ABC islands. May I ask how you guys handled medical insurance?TIA…and looking forward to watching your videos
We don't carry medical insurance anymore. As we've gotten older the insurance has gotten more expensive so it's cheaper for us to pay out of pocket then to pay for insurance. We used to use Safety Wing though when we were at an age when it was affordable.
Hi I love all of your videos that are so interesting and informative! Which air B and B did you stay at? Where do you recommend we stay if we don’t want to rent a car all the time? Which car rental place did you use? Thanks and keep on travelling!
Gee I did not expect it to be so expensive. I think nearly 4000 dollars a month is a lot. Of course accommodation is a huge cost. But anyway 30 dollars for a meal/person is not cheap. In Europe you pay about 30 € for a meal (and that is expensive already). Average wage is +-2000 €/month over here for a fulltime job. Couldnt afford to spend nearly 4000 dollar a month living on Curacao
Your videos are so comprehensive thorough, great content! Much better than 99% of the videos on TH-cam.
Thanks so much! We try to be helpful for our fellow travelers!
Subscribed! This was a great and informative video!!! 🙌🏾

Thanks Sara! Rent was much lower than what we were expecting as well. I’m surprised more people don’t have Curacao on their move abroad list.

@@l.b.1952 Google says it's $63K a year. Tax rate is about 25%.

Thank you. Love the work that you all have done and look forward to visiting Curaçao and hearing about your next destination!
Many thanks! 🙏🏾
Looks pretty affordable for the Caribbean! Thanks for the great video.
We think so as well! Can’t wait to go back!
Great video. Thank you so much!
You're very welcome!
My favorite island! I agree 💯
I'm glad we're not the only ones!

Us too! ❤️
Very informative ❤
Glad it was helpful! Enjoy the Caribbean!
Oooh...I love the idea of an electricity cellphone-like plan
Yes, it was so convenient to just pay as you go and to know exactly how much you used each day.

Love your videos! Did you need a visa for 30 days? We keep seeing conflicting information. Thanks!
No, we did not need a visa for 30 days. It's based on nationality though. I believe US citizens can stay up to 180 days visa free.
Thank you for all the detail information on Aruba and Curacao. on the car rental cost, $280 per week, did you rent the vehicle for 1 week or 30 days?
We only rented a car for one week. We walked and took the bus the rest of our stay.
Thanks for the info! Curacao is on my list to visit soon.
Awesome! You'll love Curacao!
Thanks for sharing that valuable information ❤. Merci
Sure! Glad it was helpful!

They are more expensive than I expected . How much would a flight be from the US?
That varies greatly. So it's best if you check from your home airport on Google Flights.
Awesome

Yes, it’s not for everyone. However we also shared the more affordable options as well. $550 monthly for a studio is not bad.
Thanks for vid
Did you rent a car the entire time?
No, not the entire time. We rented just for 7 days.
❤💫
