Amazing demo, very beautiful grains coming out. I am going to take it for a spin too and compare it with the Morph & Arbhar. I think it's closer to the Morph, but Cornflakes may be more musical watching this video. Looking forward to using it!
I waver between loving Beads and being annoyed by it. I also have Morphagene and Arbhar, but at one point in time was looking at the ADDAC112 too. This seems more...straightforward? Clean?
Beads is so good when I can get it to do what I want but it feels like I spend so much time seeking out that tiny sweet spot. Cornflakes does seem to be the most straightforward/simple of the bunch. I haven’t used Arbhar or Morphagene but I imagine they might color the sound a bit more? This feels pretty neutral in terms of the sound.
@@ModularBeat Arbhar definitely...I would say Morphagene is entirely different and can complement other granular stuff. I use it more for looping and slicing stuff and then feeding that into Beads or Arbhar. Anyway, this is great stuff!
@@ModularBeat Cornflakes looks really interesting. I'd be curious to find someone who can give a comparison between this, Beads and the QuBit Nebulae. There seems to be so many granular modules out there, all of which do 'more or less' the same thing, which makes them very difficult to choose from. BTW, I also find Beads a difficult module, but, I somehow get the impression that everyone is (sort of) unfairly comparing Beads to all these granular modules in a way that Emilie probably didn't design it for - if you see what I mean.
Agreed. I think granular presents some unique challenges in the Eurorack format. The ability to load scales onto Cornflakes and get some harmonization out of it is the standout feature here- but it’s also the most difficult to one use well. Being able to save/load samples to the SD card is also nice. FWIW, I’m still keeping Beads since the open-source nature of it means it will continue to grow over time (I hope).
@@cardboardmusic I've found that beads is a little more of a swiss army knife than I previously thought. I've started using it more in other ways, like delay mode or even as it's own voice.
Yeah the price stings a bit compared to Beads, but it’s similar to Morphagene and still cheaper than ADDAC112 and Arbhar. Given the usability, polyphony, and ability to save to SD card, I think it justifies the premium.
@@ModularBeat Well, GAS worked, I already ordered one :) I'm curious about the comparison with classic granular modules like Clouds, Beads, Arbhar, Morphagene and Melotus Versio. We'll see ;)

Stuff like this is what wants me to get into modular, but I just don't have the space or budget for it. love the sounds!
wow! it sounds so amazing. from 16min is the best part for me...
Yeah I recall really enjoying that bit!

Thanks :) which reverb did you use?
FX Aid but I don’t know which algorithm off the top of my head.
@@ModularBeat thank you :)
Sounds great, I had no idea there was a new granular module coming to market. However, I must admit that the price surprised me :-/
