I remember seeing him open for Black Label, you could feel the crowds energy change from cold, uninterested, to electric after the first song, after his set he went to his little merch table, and he was so stoked when I bought a CD, shook my hand and thanked me, just such a genuine positive guy.

@@Joey.Darkwoods-Studio Well, the pots were made in 1951 but Gibson didn't sell the Les Paul until 52. I mean, my 2019 Flying V has pots made in 2017... doesn't make the guitar a 2017. :)
JJN is one of the few guitarists who can still get my heart pumping. Most modern lead playing has lost its luster for me but I think I could listen to Jared for hours and not lose the smile in my face. Fantastic!!
The modern guitar sound is overly saturated with FX, particularly delay. Sometimes its just great to hear stripped back players like Jared, there’s no hiding behind artificial sounds with players like this.
Living in Sweden where it's pretty much grey, dark, cold and dark and will be so for a couple of months i feel a bit sad or bitter. THEN out of nowhere comes this Awesome dude that I've never heard of and brightens my day by a 1000%, the energy and pure awesomeness just vibe and i feel like just playing my guitar! To me, he embodies that classic Ted Nugent vibe that I always loved. Raw, energetic, dynamic, and his guitar is his mouthpiece. He's having fun every time he plays, and doesn't matter if he's playing a sold out venue or just for Ola, he puts on a show. Inspiring bro.
It’s always funny when a guy his age says he’s been playing forever, ha ha. 🤣 For him, that’s maybe 15 years. I’ve been playing for 40 years, and would never say I’ve been playing forever, ha ha. Kids. 😝🤘🏻🎸🇺🇸
Dude, this is absolutely in the top 3 best Coffee with Ola you've done imo. What an amazing vibe throughout the video and holy shit what a player Jared is. Fucking great!
I couldn't stop smiling at this interview and effing ZERO mistakes on bringing that camera up to put on his hands! The guy is just so genuine and I love his sort of natural take on his playing. Also that Guitars' story is incredible and I almost jumped out of my seat when he let you Chug on it. It reminds me of the Solar you bought from that dude which was also in a disaster. Awesome stuff. Rock on Chugs🤘🤘
I saw Jared years back when he was opening for Zakk and the Black Label guys. It had to have been one of Jared's earliest tours. We had no idea who he was, and he blew us away. It was an incredible performance and he's been on my radar ever since. He's an amazing player, and human being.
COOL Interview Ola! I've never heard of this fine guitar player. He def has style and does his "thing" which I TOTALLY DIG! He has groove, energy, and seems to love the guitar. Thanks for this Ola! KEEP EM COMING!
I remember first seeing Jared on a video posted by "Normans Rare Guitars" about 8 years ago and knew that he would achieve great things! I'm so happy to see this man succeeding in life! 💯
Sheesh Sykes should be at the top of that list. Lizzy Hale? huh? gimme a break. John Sykes is criminally underrated. He's an absolute beast of a player. He peaked at a time when people were distracted. the 83 Whitesnake album was a piece of rock music history. If he didn't have a feud with Coverdale, he would have gotten the recognition he deserved. Not Vai, Campbell or Vanderberg... all great players.. .but John Sykes is the man.
What a sweet guy, like a boy with a real old soul!! Definitely a beautiful encounter, thanks Ola and Jared for this lovely talk full of great riffs!! PD: by the way, his right hand is very technnical just like in classical guitar, Jared´s approach is similar to Snowy White, Mark Knopfler and Richie Kotzen to name just a few.
Wish I could like this a thousand times… just awesome. Phenomenal player and reminds us that playing guitar is supposed to be fun and we should do it every time with the same joy and enthusiasm that we did when we first started playing. Thanks for this, Ola! Btw, saw him open for Zakk back in 2015 and he blew me away then… he’s only gotten better and has kept his love and enthusiasm for playing intact!
What a cool fucking dude. I can’t remember exactly how I found JJN so many years ago, but I wanna say it was that 2015 era of him on Facebook. I was just mesmerized
I don't think I'd heard of Jared before, thank you Ola, he's an amazing player. That "low output" Les Paul sounds killer, great story and super cool to see it used still :D
P90s are nasty. I have really hot P90 style pickups in one of my strats. They are hotter than any humbuckers I have, and are so aggressive. Great for low tunings. They can really chug. Noisy, but worth it for how tasty they are.
Jared is such a cool guy, he’s someone who ‘gets’ guitar through and through. Would love to have a beer with him. Also the story about the guitar is probably the best guitar story I’ve ever heard, it literally fell from the sky!!
Saw Jared play a few weeks back and seeing how much power this dude has up close is mesmerising! Ola is spot on, there’s something about watching him play that’s just so engaging, absolute beast of a player
Jared's playing blows my mind every time I hear him play. However, there's so much more to this man. The dude has got to be one the nicest, most genuine people in the music industry.
That's awesome Jared talked about Days of The New and Silverchair. I saw him open up for john 5. I thought it was cool that he came from Wisconsin I'm about 20 minutes away from. When I heard him open for John 5 he reminded me of Pride and Glory. Great video.
What a great interview! It is even better when we get to hear them play!! I love what Jared said at the end about having fun playing the guitar. THAT is what it is all about!!! :)
One of the best Coffee w/ Ola ever - Watching him play using his fingers is almost hypnotizing. then watching you watch him play was equally entertaining - you looked like a little kid with big eyes going "What is that!?" 🤣🤣 Great interview Ola.
Jared is such a nice dude. I went to his show in Glasgow on this particular tour. While waiting outside for the doors to open, Jared came outside to go to a local guitar store for a thing before the gig, and I've never been one to bother people when I spot them. But the moment Jared clocked me and my nephew standing outside, he instantly smiled and introduced himself. We then chatted for about 5mins while he waited for a taxi. After the gig, which was f'n excellent btw, I saw Jared again at the merch stand and had another brief exchange.
One of the Best Coffee with Ola. i first met Jared in Luxembourg opening for Zakk wylde solo tour in 2016, he was a tiny bit shy but already got tons of groove and potential. just saw him again two weeks ago in Belgium headlining his own tour, what a beast! fantastic show, still a real nice and down to earth dude . Great showman, great songwriter, he just want to hang out with his fans after the show and have fun, Legends ! Thats for sure a fantastic ambassador for Gibson, what an inspiration !
It's nice to see another WI. native getting some more exposure and rising to the top. Jared is a solid cat that comes across as sincere, and sometimes that can intimidate others.
