The weird moment when personal means that his new epiphone signature sounds better than the Paul Kossoff les paul. For me the Paul Kossoff sounds like absolute mud. I wanted to say shit but tried to be polite. So I am not. Fuck that one lol, his single p90 epiphone sounds just...better. The single p90 jr also sounds better for vintage mellow.
I’m not even half way through yet - what an enjoyable rig rundown. Jared’s child-like enthusiasm and sheer love for the guitar is just a joy. I’m smiling through this whole rundown. Awesome 👌
I’ve learned so much from watching Jared’s playing style - I too am a lefty playing a right handed guitar and have had some challenges using a pick - This guy is a wealth of information and talent.
I saw Paul's comment and decided to reply instead of making my own. I'm not a hard rock guy anymore, but love Jared James - his playing is so different. I almost got an Epiphone Old Glory, but opted for a 1955 reissue instead, since I was born that year, and it has the large rounded neck I like, plus I'm more of a neck pickup guy - and I have a Lollar "staple" pickup, similar to what the original used for more clarity (Les Paul used a Gretch dynasonic until Seth Lover made the staple pickup for him). Jared James is a fun guy with an infectious attitude!
JJN is an absolute gem. Even if you're not a fan of his music, he's such a great ambassador for guitar playing. Always positive and always comes across as genuine person. We need more players that lift other players up like him.
Man, I came here to say EXACTLY that! That is the best sounding Les Paul I've ever heard! WOW! Kossoff was SO under rated.......but that TONE!!! Monster!!
Oh boy, the Kossoff 59..........just WOW! I've never heard a guitar which speaks SO much to it's famous owner - I could just hear Paul play that on every note! What a monster guitar!
I first encountered Jared on fretted americana after Phil X went his own way, his finger playing sans plectrum was a revelation & I’ve followed him ever since. Top player & topper enthusiasm whilst being genuine to boot. Long may he run.
Would of sold it to the rich man jared james well wealthy but the man didn't feel right selling the guitar to jared mmm cause it was damaged but the man knew about guitar who knows really what happened
Jared you are correct 1958 was the release of the hard edge double cut juniors and specials and there was a hand full made single cut up until the switch to the SG body shape and during that time when sg was still called the Les Paul they made a batch of original double cut specials in cherry and in the 1961 ledger those guitars which where double cut bodies laying around were mark as “SG” and that’s the strange history of how the original les Paul double cut gave the SG its name
I’ve seen Jared live twice in the UK, absolutely amazing and he’s one cool guy. The Koss LP I have held back in the days when certain things were touchable, at a guitar fair in Newcastle. I have a photo too, I was 26 yrs old, I’m 59 now. Koss was one of my heroes and I grew up on Free. Taken to soon at 25, him and Bolin Great video thank you!
Jared's top of the heap for me as far as new guitarists, I love how he plays and he inspires me to practice more every time I watch him play, just phenomenal.
Ran into Jared last NAMM, he invited our group for his show in that night and was the best decision we've made, I left the place so inspired. Great player and the nicest guy too! Kudos to him!
God, Jared sounds like such a nice person!! I missed the chance of seeing him opening for Saxon a few years ago at a small club near me. Some day soon, I will catch a show!!!
That 52 Goldtop story was the craziest thing ever heard. Great it was restored. And the way from that yard to JJN… awesome story. Thanks for a great rig rundown 👏
EXCELLENT rig rundown. John's the best .... good tasteful dialog, and knows how to bring out the best in his guests. Jared is just fabulous. He's the essence of classic merged with modern rock. Wonderful optimistic "glass is half full" attitude. ☺☺
These two love guitar more than most. This was great to wake up to this morning. Thank you, PG! Also, John Bohlinger makes Jared look like a pretty normal size human. He only sounds like a giant of guitar in this video.
I met Jared in 2019 when he was on tour with John 5. He is the one of the nicest human beings you could ever cross paths with…and that Octavia sounds absolutely monsterous live!
What a total gentleman! His expressions and dynamics are insane, what a passionate player. The story of the tornado les paul is just pure rock n roll :D Amazing video, thanks Premiere Guitar 🤘
This should be the blueprint for all rig rundowns. Talk about the gear a bit, some cool stories about the gear etc, and then let everyone hear how it sounds. Great guy, great tone, amazing player. He plays like he’s genuinely excited to do what he does.
That kosoff 59 was bloody amazing but if I'm honest Jared sounded so much better on his own guitars, even the epi! But man that 52 is just out of this world - probably one of the best Les Paul I have ever heard!
He seems like a good dude. There are a handful of players that are that enthusiastic and look like they're really enjoying themselves. Love how that single p90 cleans up. Tons of versatility. Like a Tele bridge on steroids
Premier guitar is Awesome! I appreciate the content with these rig run downs. I do not want to be a buss kill but the guitar belonged to some one and I think the right thing to do would be to try and figure out the rightful owner!!! Thanks again, B
I got nothing but love for this video! Jared smokes, John always kills it in his interviews...and the guitar playing and tones are sublime! Nice collection of LP's!!!
Jared always has "One more in the hopper"! 😉 Can't believe I actually got to play onstage live with this Rock God, in Glasgow's GuitarGuitar. I still have to pinch myself! Keep on Rockin' big fella!
I was there when Dorothy was debuted in Pennsylvania (Stroudsburg at a little theater called The Sherman Theater). That night there was an unbelievably bad rain storm, it was the tail end of a hurricane that was down south. It caused so many roads to get closed that the trip that would normally be 1 hour for me to get home took nearly 4 hours. I spent 3 hours driving through the mountains from one side road to the next as they were closed. It was an amazing night i will never forget JJN is a beast!
I heard that "Mountain" riff! Cool, too bad Leslie West didn't make it to his resurrection, nice playing, Jared! So refreshing to see someone more into tone than mindless speed.Kossoff is due for a rediscovery, another great one more into sweet tone and liquid vibrato than speed, so cool his axe lives on, these guitars are the Stradivarioses of our time.
Jared seems like a little kid who is excited on Christmas morning but playing some over the top instruments... You can really tell that he loves playing the guitar... That Paul kassoff Les Paul sounds so good...
Omg, that old gold top reminds me of seeing Ted Nugent tearing it up on stage in 1977 Gonzo tour. All those crazy harmonics just oozing out of your P90’s on that one. By far best sounding Les Paul of that style I ever heard, as well as Free’s ol burst LP!!!
Omg I need this new version! This colour as finally gonna make me pull the trigger to buy it! Always loved the sound but now the right colour is here I’m buying it! Get it in peach guitars Uk 🇬🇧 please guys!
I like this guy! He understands that guitars are for playing. If a guitar has the sound and the feel, who cares if someone rattle canned over the gold top!

Met him yesterday after the show. He wanted to talk to everyone and give us hugs and thank everyone. Was so sweet. Really cool dude
JJN is an absolute gem. Even if you're not a fan of his music, he's such a great ambassador for guitar playing. Always positive and always comes across as genuine person. We need more players that lift other players up like him.
Jared the giant for reason he’s. Sweet guy met him In person
His enthusiasm reminds me of Phil X. When you see them play they are always having fun. And that just translates so well to the audience.
Jared himself is the distilled essence of good tone!
TRUTH
Testify!!!
The Paul Kossoff LP's tone gave me chills.
Me too! From the first note I felt like there's a very different mojo in that guitar. WOW.
Man, I came here to say EXACTLY that! That is the best sounding Les Paul I've ever heard! WOW! Kossoff was SO under rated.......but that TONE!!! Monster!!
Fore sure! That one is in the top 5 of the ~700!! Bernie's "Beast" is another one!! Very cool!! --gary
Goosebump city while he's playing this one! It's got Paul's mojo in it for sure. Sweet.
How do they protect that guitar? I would be afraid to check it at the airport. He should not have mentioned the air tags.
This guy knows his shit! Great guitarist + Knowledgable + enthusiastic about his craft. He'll go far
I met Jared over the weekend. One of the nicest guys I have ever met not to mention a total bad ass guitarist and singer.
Oh boy, the Kossoff 59..........just WOW! I've never heard a guitar which speaks SO much to it's famous owner - I could just hear Paul play that on every note! What a monster guitar!

I just love his enthusiasm, it's totally infectious, and he's an amazing guitarist to boot, what's not to love.
The way Jared plays is like Jeff Beck; he plays lead vocal lines and amazing blues. Plus his attitude is so positive. 100% a fan.
The story of this wonderful 1952 lespaul is just amazing 😍
And the tone !!! 😍
Would of sold it to the rich man jared james well wealthy but the man didn't feel right selling the guitar to jared mmm cause it was damaged but the man knew about guitar who knows really what happened
Mr. Nichols is one of the finest advocates for rock guitar today, the industry as a whole benefits from musicians like this.
JJN's enthusiasm is contagious!!!! Enjoyed the rig rundown!
Wow, that guy can play. Incredible talent. The way he shakes that vibrato. And no pick!
Jared and John. Two class acts, for sure. Another great rig rundown.
Only one word describes Jared, PASSION. This cat lives and breathes his craft, so great to see and hear. Great rundown John!
What a national treasure and honor to see this man play.

this guy has such a humble and down to earth vibe about him.
Well, time to throw all my picks in the recycle bin and pick up a Les Paul Junior. 🤣 Thanks PG - as usual, an awesome visit with an inspiring artist!
thanks for watching!
Ran into Jared last NAMM, he invited our group for his show in that night and was the best decision we've made, I left the place so inspired. Great player and the nicest guy too! Kudos to him!
He is quite the inspiration for any guitarist at any level or age. It's all about the joy of playing! God bless you Jared
Jared and Joe are why I play a Les Paul. Such a great influence. I love the tones and style. Very inspiring. Thank you.
The UGLIEST shape ever 😂😂😂
God, Jared sounds like such a nice person!! I missed the chance of seeing him opening for Saxon a few years ago at a small club near me. Some day soon, I will catch a show!!!
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him a couple times. He’s such a cool, humble, and inspiring person.
Very good stuff!
I couldn’t bond with my Gold Glory, but the gold and now pelham blue signatures, are the most beautiful guitars I’ve ever seen, esthetically.
Great player and refreshingly humble.
By far not into that "type" of music but always enjoy seeing him talk about his gear, playing and tone 😎
Super cool seeing that Kossoff LP, man, such a great player and had an amazing tone
That 52 Goldtop story was the craziest thing ever heard.

His enthusiasm for beautiful loud filthy tones is pure gold.
I could watch this guy all day! Such positive vibes always!
Jared started playing Koss’s LP and I got emotional!!
Those 58-60’s LP’s are magical !!
That guitar sounds unreal. Of course this guy could make a hello kitty guitar sound good.
BMFP. Saw Jared live in La Rochelle. He kicked a**. This guy's already a blues legend and one of the most nice and humble peope ever. Period.
Can really tell Jared was stoked to be one. Great episode
JJN is a living god among guitarists.. and he is the most humble and fan-appreciative musician in town world!! Met him twice and he’s an awesome guy.
😂😂😂😂 “a living god” 😂😂😂😂

Best rig rundown I've ever seen! A complete lesson in how to play very tastefully and with lots of fire! Jared is one of the greats!
Tasteful...you need to hear Frank Marino, no one is more tasteful than Frank

Awesome spent most of the vid with my chin on my chest Thanks for the rig rundown👍
I haven't seen any guitar player like him as in the way he uses his right hand the dynamic range he gets with his finger is his signature style.
Best Rig Rundown so far. No way you can beat JJN enthusiasm when he's talking about his craft and gear. Amazing.
ABSOLUTELY F’n AMAZING!!!
Jared is the MAN!

"It's gross john" omg, why was that so damn funny!
The MXR Fat Sugar and Sugar Drive are a good klon circuit style pedal that you don’t have to worry about smeggle taking the “precious”
Love his enthusiasm, what a player. Keep doing what you’re doing JJN

SO glad to see a significant 59 Les Paul NOT owned by Joe Bonamassa ;) :D
I do not generally like LP Juniors, but this one is great.
That was awesome
Thanks!
He gets some of the best tones in the world, with no pedals, on what many consider to be cheap entry level amps. Love and kisses to JJN and Blackstar!
15:43 !!!!! I always love this guys attitude.
This was so damn entertaining! Thanks so much! JJN is an incredible player❤
I love how Jared plays. Leslie West is taking notice.
Damn, a Kossoff guitar - that sound!
Love that 59 on the crazy mode. Wich is normal mode for Jared. Awesome 😎 player inspired on the good stuff
amazing tone, inspiring playing, down to earth comments, fascinating stories - congrats, best rig rundown ever! (I love it! 😉)

Man, I love his tone and finger style. Such a great video, John!
Great timing, seeing Jared at guitar clinic Tues then gig in tiny club wed next week 👍😃
I can't remember where, but I've seen this guy before. He freaking rocks!
Tone king. He’s sensational 👍his finger plucking/picking is where it’s at. Much prefer that sound than shredding.
The best! Love it! So inspirational.
A welcome ambassador of Guitar tone for the next gen.
How much a cool guy is Jared, more of a fan now
This should be titled 99 guitar licks you should learn right now! It's like everything he plays is a killer old classic riff.
That Kossof needs its own security detail sweet.
JJN seems so down to Earth humble and jammin the F out!
