He was by far the most intelligent, most inspirational (partly due to his wartime injuries to his sore back that he only once (at a famous news conference on the status of the present political state) mentioned in public, and wittiest president in the last 60 years, not to mention the best looking in many decades prior to 1960. Of course, the youngest elected, who still had over 12 years (almost 2 years lost to his hospitalization for his severe back injury) in Congress before his election. Only Theodore Roosevelt was younger (at 42) to Kennedy's 43, and only because of President McKinley's murder in Sep. 1901, putting T.R. in the White House. Roosevelt and Kennedy both had sickly childhoods, but both were later renowned for pushing physical fitness to the citizens. Eisenhower was admired and respected for his military expertise in helping to win WW2, but Kennedy inspired more people with his charm, wit, family, and desire for excellence in public life, despite his secret and numerous extra-marital affairs that disrespected Jackie for years, until she lost her baby Patrick, in early August, after only 2 days of life. After that, John and Jackie grew closer than ever before, but they only had 3 1/2 more months together.
@@normamimosa5991 Jackie never said one disparaging word towards Jack. She knew what she was getting into and accepted that she was his wife no matter what else he did.

She was seldom at the White House and had already hooked up with Onassis. Trashing her family is NOT what she did. She was the height of discretion and diplomacy. Interesting fact. The publishing world wanted her to edit a book about Diana, Princess of Wales. She refused, because she had no time for people, such as Diana, who courted the press and publicly trashed their families.

Having studied history, with all the cynicism and criticism of Kennedy over the years I have come around to the understanding that he was an absolute hero, and his brother too with no doubt. He tried to take "them" out but they got to him first.
Immediately before JFK arrived in Ireland he payed a State Visit to Germany in June 1963. Also there he received an enthusiastic welcome by huge friendly crowds, especially that was true when President Kennedy came to West-Berlin, where he toured the western part of the city, including Check Point Charlie, border crossing to the Soviet sector of Berlin, then his world famous speech at the Schöneberg City Hall, telling the whole world " Ich bin ein Berliner- I am a citizen of Berlin ", in conclusion he held a speech at the Free University Auditorium, Berliners just loved him , me included ( in June '63 still being a Berlin high school student). My allegiance to America has remained strong through all these years until today. I am very happy that JFK also received a wonderful, warm and joyous welcome from the Irish , the country of his ancestors.

He did live and pushed through what he said was his crowning achievement in office, from Aug. 5, 1963 signing in Moscow by Sec. of State, Dean Rusk, to ratification on Sep. 24 by the Senate in a lopsided 80-14 vote (14 more than the 2/3rds needed), and it became effective on Oct. 10: the Partial Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty.

He had an enthusiastic and warm welcome at Love Field and all along the motorcade route, where he and Jackie were cheered by the Dallas citizens. It was only at the end when there were few fans at Dealey Plaza where the plotters found the best place to murder him at that echo chamber confusing people on how many shots were fired. Far more than the 3 officially reported: most credible sources have found evidence of bullet holes in the limo (front windshield), and discounting the ridiculous "magic bullet" that supposedly hit both JFK and Gov. Connally, there were at least 6 to 8 bullets from three places, the last one was the fatal one to his right temple.
So very sad..... what this country would've been had he done two terms.

Dear Madame,
Thank you for this post.
It is much appreciated 😏.
I remember hearing mrs J. Kennedy, the former First Lady, talk about this trip on one of her recordings. It's nice to add this impression to it. So, thank you 💌
God bless you and your extended ones 💐
Sincere regards in Christ Jesus Our Lord

Kennedy was welcomed as a returning Irishman. For a guy who’s family has been abroad for over a hundred years, the spirit of the Irishman in his roots never left him.
He looked and felt so at home by this video alone
My dear mother bless her dragged me into a 23 bus from crumlin to park gate street where we seen the president on his way to the phoenix park. I was 7 then and remember it as if it was yesterday. ..I honestly think President Kennedy looked over at me as he was passing by but thats what I thought at the time .
Few months later he was Dead and I remember that day just like yesterday as well unfortunately.
Cool , I have a photo of my mother on O Connell st Bridge on the same day . Think she was 17 and was allowed out from boarding school for the day to see him .like yourself it was a day she will never forget and similarly to us down the generations who weren't born but know the stories well .
@@barrykevin7658 Great stuff Kevin thanks for sharing that information about your dear mum and it's great to have a photo which I unfortunately don't have. You have a good name and I guess you are from Cork ..that reason I say that is the photographer at my wedding in Dublin in 1980 his name was Kevin Barry a good friend of my father in law.. Kevin did a video of the wedding on vhs tapes and when I got back from my honeymoon in Yugoslavia was then my father in law bless him accidentally recorded over the video and I never got to see it . I can laugh 😃 now but I can tell you it wasn't funny at the time. Anyway kevin enjoy your day and greetings from a VERY 🔥 hot Kenya.
Having studied history, with all the cynicism and criticism of Kennedy over the years I have come around to the understanding that he was an absolute hero, and his brother too with no doubt. He tried to take "them" out but they got to him first.
@@1973ThunderBirds Yes, it was all downhill from there. His nephew is running for the election next year, though, so who knows?
@@martinrea8548his nephew is no JFK.
What a fabulous video thank you Helmerreenberg
The legend The icon. True Irish 💜
For all his faults. JFK would have made America no 1 in the world. and ensured it stayed there. He was a great leader.
A man that could make people smile just by being in their presence ! RIP
Mr. President, we could sure use you now!! All we can say is THAT IS A PRESIDENT !
He was one of Ireland 's own. Elderly President Eamon D. walked in his funeral procession.
He was so gorgeous, especially in color! 😍
Yes-we sat near him at an Army Navy game one year, and even his hair was alive- a beautiful chestnut color.
@@annbush1826 wow ! So lucky :)

Jhon.F.Kennedy was a simple Man,and a very kind Man.And He loved people very much indeed. He believe AND loved God very much indeed.
Although a flawed man, as are we all, JFK remains to me, the greatest modern American President. His public appearances, their delivery, their humor, their class, were always flawless.
we are all flawed
One of the greatest President America ever had but unfortunately he was assassinated by group's of enemies who manipulated his assassination in 1963. May his soul rest in perfect peace, and let all perpetual light shine upon him and family members.
He gave the world hope in 1960 an all hope was dashed on November 22 1963.
My family also had to flee from Thurles Co Tipp in 1850 couldn’t afford the fare to America so as the poorest of the poor it was to Scotland for us..and we still take about JFK over here...🇮🇪
My family from your area but went live in Manchester and my parents moved to Canada.

@@robcookson4682 I hope use had a good live it was hard here for my grandparents but we’ve survived and and made a difference in sure our dead grandparents will be proud of whatwe’ve become
@@robcookson4682 the fare to Canada was cheaper than Boston or NY which is why my GG grandfather went there.
My mom was from Connemara in County Galway. Whatever house l visited there was a picture of Jesus, Mary, and JFK. Ireland loved him as their own.
My aunt was like that plus a picture of the pope in the late 1960s and 1970s in Boston Massachusetts. God bless.
Brings tears to the eye. RIP Jack
I felt this great man's magnetism just watching this film. Not long after he left Ireland, it lost its innocence... when he was assassinated, America lost its innocence. Hopefully we will find that innocence again in the afterlife.
i'm cryin...love to ireland and their magnificent product john fitzgerald kennedy.
What the CIA did to this man is unforgivable.
Ireland and the US will always be inseparable and connected to each other as long as our nations exist. Ireland are the best of friends to us in the US. Irish men and women have been integral to our country for 200 years.
He was safe there but not in his own country . So sad !
That was his grandfathers country
how about his election fraud?
@@evanlaw3596 what fraud are you reffering to. Trump trying to bully his way to another term or the insurrection he try to start.

Charismatic man.
In 1963 the population of Ireland was three million. Judging from the enormous crowds that turned out to see him, prob half of Ireland saw Kennedy pass by in person.
Really enjoyed this - a lovely video of a great president, still missed today.
We really miss him, thank you Mr.president, for your inspiration and dinamic.
It's sad that he was killed a few months after this, Rest in peace John.
💔
THE END at the end marks the end to life of jfk. Very sad.
The background music was soothing.
To p of the morning to you 😀 🎶 all from lreland may she live forever 🙏 ❤ more ❤ 💙
The John Barry (the pub NOT the statue) is why I have high blood pressure nowadays BUT I still search for a good pint of Guinness® outside of Wexford 👍 G'day Gus (and Paddy Heffernan). Cheers from Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia
I am fortunate to say that I was born on President JFK’s 46th Birthday and share that with him♥️🇺🇸✌️❣️
My grandad Fintan Coogan Snr was there that day on the council :)
Thank you so much for sharing this. Decided to watch a few minutes of it. Needless to say, I watched it all. In many ways this was the moment when Ireland celebrated our survival, and realized that our people had achieved great things. It could only have happened with JFK though. There has never been a visit like it. He was such an inspiring man. That is why the criminals killed him. It is sad how we have been misled since then. Ireland is a shadow of that country you see there. Our government and media bow before the pharma cartel and keep us under house arrest. We are lectured by media mammies to wear masks, stand apart, avoid touch. No questions are allowed. JFK spoke so strongly for and independent media who would hold government and the powerful to account. He spoke out about the evil power that plots in secret and attacks in stealth. How the media have betrayed us and his memory.
Ireland a shadow of what it was in 1963, what bullshit, do you even live here. We've never had it so good, apart from a global pandemic which is affecting the entire world.
👏👏👏
Best american leader for my money ,, yup the irish
Still to this day, it's not uncommon to find a photo of Johnny F Kennedy hung on the wall in an Irish home. He was revered as much as the Pope by some in Ireland and is still well loved in the home of his ancestors. In less than a year after his historic visit to Ireland John Kennedy would be dead. So sad...
I followed John F. Kennedy from before his time in the Oval Office. My Catholic neighbors in West Tyrone, Ireland, felt proud that an Irish Catholic would soon be President-. That John was Catholic was important to the Irish for, had John been a Protestant Evangelical, things would not have been so important anymore!!
Religion was more important then and I believe he was the first Catholic president at a time when they were shunned . Now adays his religious preference wouldn't make much of a difference . Irish is still Irish no matter which church or mosque you pray in ,if any !
@@barrykevin7658 Yes, Kevin, it seems that the Catholic faith has been abandoned in good old Ireland, as opposed to the 1960s, for example!
@@jamesverner2812 Yes Thankfully and along with other religions as well. More education and less brainwashing in schools no longer completely controlled by religious orders .
@@barrykevin7658 But look at the mess it has gotten us into> Surely we need God to pull it all back together again
@@jamesverner2812.I don't think we are in any type of mess because of less religious teachings .But if anybody decides to follow 'God' in their own free will it is very important that they are allowed to do so with the respect they deserve. I just have a problem with it being enforced on people just because of an area or tradition that they were born into.
A fine Irishman.
America's only King. 🇺🇸
President John Kennedy was the leader!
He was just beautiful. 💔
Great memories of a better place and time

He shouldnt not have died that way, broke so a y hearts , he deserved a long happy life 💔
God a beautiful video.
I better watch it again.
I'm only one quarter Irish, .....but it's my best quarter.
One interesting thing to note is all the people up on balconies/open windows over the motorcade. This is something people have claimed was unusual in Dallas......but in actuality, it happened frequently.
2:12 My mother was up there somewhere watching.
I never seen that at 13:54 when he fall in the backseat is there any other footage of that from a different angle?
What a video
The foreshadowing and all 😪
Beautiful!
This visit (June 26-29) occurred just after his 46th, and last birthday on May 29.
No film of JFK in enniscorthy, me Nan sad she shook his hand on top of castle hill in 63.
@Tony. O'Brien Yes...never get to see a President like this again. In this crazy world. At least he got to go back to his roots. It meant everything to him....and the spectators.
@Tony. O'Brien Absolutely right. I was sick of him before he became President. Everything about him is a manipulating conman who brings out the worst in people. Fortunately, it's his last day,( or so they say with this guy you never know) but the damage he has caused is irreparable.
@Tony. O'Brien Hey Tony at least he didn't pardon himself, or do something insane on his last day . We got a good Irishman in there and a balanced team around him.
@Tony. O'Brien Humphrey Bogart and Jimmy Cagney would know what to do with the Donald, Bogart" Let's lock this guy under the jail and throw the only key away" Cagney" that's much too good for this mug...Aw right Aw right".
Excellent quality film ...bravo
