- Calving season turned nocturnal this week so we're losing lots of sleep and having frustration as I fail at getting the calves to nurse. Time to call in the expert... #womanfarmer, #beefcattle, #calvingseason, #familyfarm,
Glad that you had an expert so close at hand!
The struggles are real.
Good thing that Dawn is a specialist! Her expertise came in handy.
Lots of hard work but you are very lucky
Thanks.
It's definitely the time of year for mud and poop😂 Calves are coming along nicely. I still don't have a second one. Madi's heifer should be next.
Boot sucking mud. On the bright side frost is out. I hope to begin seeding oats and barley soon.
It will when it's hunry enough
There are so many producers I am hearing of that are having trouble getting calves to nurse!
Very strange!
Our problem is me🙄. Dawn gets them started right away.
Good afternoon Dawn and Dave.
We usually have trouble with the big boys being slow.. heifers usually figure it out pretty quick..
We're down to 10 left to go.
Hopefully the rest go smoothly!!!
Great news. You have a nice crop this year.
@@Rollinghillsfarmsmn thank you!!
So far, you have some nice calves too!
I have a veterinarian on staff here !
🤣🤣🤣
That’s good planning 😅
Good to see calving is going smooth.....I squirt a bit of milk on my finger and let them suck then just steer them up to the tit. ....Little Boyd showed you how it was, LOL. 3/4" of rain from yesterdays storm, should be about 3 1/4" of precip for the month so far.... really hope we get this much in May too..Thanks Dave.
We got 3/4 inch too. It’s drying out quickly. I’m getting the tillage equipment out tomorrow!
Trying to get kids to do something for their own good can be a challenge!
Isn’t that the truth😊.
You guys end up getting much rain dave? Almost 3 inches down here.
One inch so far but it’s soaking in. No ponding in the hayfields.
Just .63 here so far.
