I was brought here by a fan pointing out: that Robert Palmer was not always a sharp-dressed man. But, I love this period of Palmer's more than the fancy suits period.
The Gentleman Rocker. Palmer was voted "Best Dressed" musician during his era. An incredible musician, it was a great loss when Palmer suddenly died of a heart attack in a Paris hotel room at the age of 54. He had just given an interview in the UK and was in transit back to his home in Switzerland.
The pre suit period. This song was the one that introduced me to his music, although it was written by John Moon Martin RIP. Robert was a cool guy and a great artist and style icon.
MMMMmmm Masterful!! The Man is not even in a suit here and he Looks Awesome. How cool is this guy. I am so Glad -I Got To See Him LIVE in Arizona, right before he went to perform in China. 'The GENTLEMAN of Rock & Roll' Is what I have called him for over 35 years. Haven't heard it said outside of myself, but it's TRUE!!! ----- Watch some of his interviews. Great voice and delivery. Watch him with James Brown on stage I think in 1987? Great Performance!! He and James 'the Man' Brown, together and you'll see ROBERT [turns red, smiling like a 5 year-old-kid ] after what James is yelling to the audience about Robert! Repeatedly!! Great Stuff!!! ' 2' Monumental Icons in Music.😁
Of course, Mr. Cool Robert Palmer would have a Gibson instead of a Fender and then dress to complement the color of the guitar! Palmer was a genius on so many levels.
What? Ruin it how? The keyboard player him self or the what hes playing ruins it? Hes playing whats played on the record... And it sounds good. Plus his energy is awesome. Explain your self.
This song has stood the test of time.

@Colin Boyd LOL you win the no-prize, check your mailbox this week
Airline must have lost his luggage - never seen him without a suit on
Actually, this is before he regularly wore suits :)
With suit or without I love him.❤
Still hot, tho. I bet he would STILL be hot if he was alive today.
Traded for a couple of lines...
He wanted to wear a sleeveless shirt b/c he just joined the NRA and wanted to show off his "tickets to the gun show", if you know what i mean
Just like Hall and Oates he was able to glide through the new wave era like he was born for it.
unbelievable 😃
Such a cool song!
That camera work is top notch tho!
yeah and the graphics are inventive
Fine wearing a suit, fine wearing anything!
Or nothing.
What a second, I'm not gay , wtf.

I'm also in love with that dummer and that keyboard player. I'm going to go investigate their carrers.
That keyboard player was in the zone!

What were those white guitars? Everybody was playing them back in the day!
He looks like a cross between Bryan Adams and marty mcfly
I dunno why this site would become rediculous and e d i t my great comment below??????
Drummer fucking up the natural rhythm of the song with his little pause/cymbal crash at the end of the guitar pause.
I know where they got the Marty McFly character from, they look alike .
LOL
I thought the same thing!
What ???!!! Where da 3K suit ???

Looks like Marty Mcfly.

비정한 세상.. 피 토하는 음악..ㅊ

@@3allz
Right on 3ballz
I was 16 or 17 when the classy video came out but this one is more like our music back there.
So long ago..
@@3allz hell yeah and that keyboard player is beast, nailed all the vocal harmonies too
It misses a lot the song's vibe. It lacks the vital part of the guitar. Sad.
Only a handful of musicians perform better on coke and he was one of them
