Thank you for making this. Will be useful for a lot of players, especially those new to 18. But at the same time this illustrates how broken this game is. You almost HAVE to user the middle of the field because defenders don't know how to cover on their own, and also the ball flight is so broken in this game that you can get a tall MLB and cover 40 yards of field by yourself. In the real world when you throw a pass it goes up and comes down. If you are more than 2 yards from your man you are beat. In Madden the passes go 7 feet high and magically travel at that altitude until they drop to the target. In Madden your 6 foot 2 inch guy covers balls the way a player in the NFL would have to be 10 feet tall. They could fix this by fixing the coverage or the ball physics or both. They consistently choose neither and for so long it's to the point where we are deceived into thinking that usering the middle is a necessary part of the game. This tip is great, but it just highlights that the game is broken. All Pro Football didn't have this problem and it's 10 years old.

messing with gun doubles flex weak out of gb book....Flanker corner is like the sail concept except with a c route and a table rout on same side.Has same automotion on 3 dif plays.Throw in inside zone and the pa jailbreak in formation makes it crazy hard to stop.Would love your thoughts or input on other plays in this formation

Hi Eric. Is there anywhere that you address how to improve a receivers catch odds. I have some decent receivers on the field (+84 overall) but I can't even count the number of times I've thought I had a reciever open only for them to drop the ball. I think all the drops are the difference between a win and a loss. Or at least a more competitive showing. Thank you for addressing.

What if it’s a double Slant/Drag route and you can only cover one person and they throw it to the other?
You can man the CPU to cover the other one but a good player would just scramble
You could spy but you couldn’t arrange ya defense in time to set a man, then a Spy, then to be ready to user

I like to practice usering against random defense in practice mode. But it takes the cpu offense forever to snap the ball in practice mode. I can i fix this?
Hey Eric what's up bro, hey if you have not tried out the Raiders offense of playbook yet tried out there so many money plays in that playbook especially in shotgun it is ridiculous, i'm a diehard Jacksonville Jaguar fan and their playbook is really limited this year with only three sets so I tried San Francisco's playbook which is stacked with all kind of looks and the Browns play book is pretty damn good too but the Raiders has the most money I found yet, and I know that you know the Raiders have one the best defensive playbook's, with 3-4 and 4-3 looks,

What he says is true, guys. Follow what he says and you will learn how to user coverage. I had to learn the hard way, but this tutorial really will help you if you are new to usering defense.

The thing is, is that when i try to user people would throw it right at me and i would press triangle to intercept but my linebacker doesnt do anything the ball would go right over his head and i would be spamming triangle...i lost many games cuz of this i user perfectly but i try my best to intercept but he doesnt even react

To intercept do you hold down triangle or do you need to be in a strafe first?
You don't have to strafe to intercept the ball.

Usering is difficult but if you pay attention to the plays your opponent is making. You can start to take away your opponents favourite routes

If you are worried about the middle of the field, why not go cover 3 and then user?
Had a guy pick giants so I used the safety and just doubled on Beckham and got 4 ints first quarter before he quit the game lol

Can anyone tell me - when your trying to bait and sprinting to switch the receiver your covering, before going for the pick do you let go of sprint and try to get back on strafe?

I can't find this defense on my Madden 18. I've went though every team

And people need to get on madden 18 about some of these ratings because it's pathetic I can show you all kind of footage and I should post the footage that I have from NFL network and SportsCenter and live from camps and practices and one thing that irritates me and it may be because I'm a big-time Jacksonville Jaguar fans but Telvin Smith's ratings are way off, everybody in the NFL knows he is the fastest linebacker in football and his speed is way down, and Ashley how they gave John Ross the fastest player in madden this year all everybody knows he broke the record at the combine but does everybody know who broke it as well and came in second row behind him Dede Westbrook Jagwire's rookie wide receiver out of Oklahoma and I think his speed is only 87 if I'm mistaken and it should be 90,is big as Madden is in as much money as I make from this game they need to sure up the stats and it pisses me off

Huggybear 2Gunz madden favors the top few teams and ignores the rest. They have Gerald McCoy speed at like 67 and Chris Bakers at like 72. The entire Bucs team laughed about that. Jameis Winston has been an 81 ovr the entire time he's been on madden. Even after 2 4000 yd passing seasons he's an 81. It's downright comical.
