Moel Siabod and the forbidden Fisherman's Trail - Snowdonia, Wales

- Today's video was shot the day after last weeks Tryfan video and was a great walk with Adventure Buddies Group up Moel Seabed in Snowdonia followed b y a trip to the secret Fisherman's Trail to take on the series of ladders and wires which was great fun.
Moel Siabod, is a mountain in Snowdonia, Wales, which sits isolated above the village of Dolwyddelan. At 872 metres, it is the highest peak in the Moelwynion mountain range.
It's a great walk which starts out nice and easy and crosses some peaty land and some lovely locations which would be perfect for a wild camp. Shortly after this it's a steep ascent and scramble up the ridge to the top and are rewarded with some fantastic views across Snowdonia and can even see Tryfan in the distance.
The 'Fisherman's Walk' is located in the Lledr Gorge in Snowdonia, a dangerous ladder route. The precarious structure is made from wooden boards placed on top leading the path around the rockface to Craig Rhiw Goch, a popular climbing venue. The stability of the structure has been brought under question after the rise in popularity over lockdown with the ladders now hanging together by clamps.
Notices stuck alongside trees leading up to the path read warnings advising people that the route is not for the faint hearted, it says “Warning. Dangerous structure. The owner accepts no liability for any loss, damage or injury, however caused.” Makes it fun :-).
The light was fading so I know the footage isn't the cleanest however I hope you get the idea of what it's like to walk these trails. Really hope you enjoy the videos. Please don't ask the location for the fisherman's trail as I cannot share this but if you are keen to go I'm sure a few searches on google will return the results.

It’s a great hike Moel Siabod you’ll enjoy it. Just be careful on the ground before you get to the ascent as it can be pretty boggy. The Fisherman’s Trail has closed down now so we were both lucky to see that.

The fisherman's walk has been dismantled now by the national trust who own the land for safety reasons and the amount of people who were trespassing
Yeah spotted that literally the week after we were there. Glad I got to see it before it was dismantled.
In my 50's I'd have give you a run for your money but now in my late 60's early 70's think I'd have been with the other group
Love that Alan. It’s great to push ahead sometimes isn’t it. Think I’m too used to going solo and keep moving and obviously stay warm too rather than sitting around but still all good fun.
The fisherman’s trail looked a bit sketchy.
It is! The ropes on the wall are quite slack too which makes it more difficult and those ladders are definitely coming away from the wall. Imagine crossing with one hand holding the camera 😂
