OK… Now that I’m finished crying… I wanted you to know that I faithfully watched you every morning. I would wake up and sit out in the sunshine and watch your videos, along with the heard, hiker, a.k.a. no.2 pencil and pink, hot dog and mushroom And hawk. That is how I spent my entire summer and fall… Every morning watching you guys fulfill this dream. I am thrilled that you created this documentary. It is so beautiful in so many ways. Thank you for being one of the people that inspired me to get my butt on trail. I will be unable to complete an uninterrupted thru hike because of work responsibilities, however, I did go to Springer Mountain and hike through the entire state of Georgia. I just came off trail and my brain and heart are still there! ❤ At my age in my condition with my lifestyle that is a miracle. And you are one of the people that inspired me to do it. I cried, cursed, laughed and loved every minute of Georgia. I had a concerning interaction on trail with another hiker and my knees were screaming so I came back to New Jersey where I am resting up and preparing for my next long ass section hike. So it looks like I’ll be completing my 2200 as a LASHER! I kind of feel like I want to watch your documentary a second time tonight, because it is just so beautifully done. You did it! I know you don’t even know me, but I am so proud of you! PCT!!!!!PCT!!!!PCT……..!!!!!!❤
I am so so thankful for this lovely message. It’s these kind of words that inspire me to continue YouTubing. Thank you. I am so happy you did all of the Georgia part. That’s a really great stretch.
Juliane it’s hard not to become emotionally involved after following your hike and now watching it all laid out so beautifully. It was hard for me to hear you say, you felt dead inside. Immediately a verse from Psalm 30 came into my mind. “Thou has turned my mourning into dancing.”
Juliane, I watched every video you posted last year and just finished this movie. It was an honor to go through this journey again with you and the movie was so beautifully put together. I love how insightful, thoughtful, gracious and silly you are. You are a true inspiration. Continue to live your Best Life because you deserve nothing less!
Juliane, just a beautiful documentary of your Appalachian Trail thru hike and of the wonderful trail family that you supported and received so much in return. Dance is a harmony of the body and mind, and I believe that in hiking the Appalachian Trail you have discovered what truly brings you happiness in life, in harmony with your spirit and your life going forward. I am so happy for you. All the best.
Thank you, Julianne, thank you! Sharing your through hike gave so many of us an awakening. I hope you know how powerful this video was, and that by following along you gave us so much joy. ❤
Meep-Meep Thank you so much for sharing this inspiring, unvarnished, honest, lovely and very funny journey. Lot's of sarcasm, laughing, dancing, singing and silliness. Yes, here I am just right. Very happy to follow Roadrunner on her PCT-Journey as a new Patreon soon. Cheers from Switzerland Michel aka Crosshair
You were my favorite hiker I followed last year. It was so nice to see this great summary of your hike. Your humor and sincerity showed through your hike. I also saw a funnier side to you when I watched Lil'Chaps vlogs. Looking forward to future hikes.
You are the first hiker I ever followed and followed their entire journey. You will always have a special place in my heart and have inspired me. I plan to hike the AT in 2026, after my daughter graduates. To keep that goal real, I started this profile and plan to put that adventure in here. (I followed you under my personal account). Thank you, for being the charming and inspiring soul that you are!
Such an extraordinary documentary of your epic journey! This is beautiful and would be wonderful for many to see. So positive and amazing! You did well 🧡
LOVED this video! Proud to see someone push through the negatives and come out victorious! Good job and hope you have a life filled with victories. God bless you
Awesome video Roadrunner! It brought back a lot of fond memories, not only of my 1988 thru-hike, but of checking daily last year to see if you had posted a new vlog and following you on your journey. Watching this has inspired me to go through and rewatch all of the vlogs you posted during your hike!
Thank you very much for the effort you have put into this. You captured the adventure, the suck, the joy, the beauty, the friendship -all those things - really well. I congratulate you for your achievement of managing to finish the trail and of capturing it on film!
Hi hikerdancer, my name is Lou and I just finished watching your doc on your thru hike in its entirety. I to am a thru hiker class of 2022 trail name Cowboy&penguin. 1st.) I want to commend you for doing a fabulous job editing your thru hike it captivated me from the start. 2nd.) From the bottom of my heart thank you for taking me back home down memory lane. Seems like you stopped and took in most of the views I did on my thru hike. 3rd.) Congratulations on staying strong and persevering through all of it the good the bad and the ugly. 4th) You are now officially part of something greater than you know or realize you will forever be etched as one of the greats that accomplished this crazy once in a lifetime dream. 5th.) finally something you said struck a cord with me you said, that you felt like you were dead on the inside. I to felt that way before and during my hike it took me months to try and heal and come to grips with my life and know like you expressed and made another comment that was also true. You will never be the same person again you will see things differently but know that you do now have another family that connects with you and cares about you. Well alright then I’ve blabbed enough listen again thanks for the rerun of my thru hike enjoy be seeing you.
So glad to have watched your movie. The ways that you and your friends gathered and dispersed along the path shown that we are led to the right ones at the right times. Life can seem random yet one knows it is a purposeful journey. You did a fine job with this documentary: so beautiful, full of fun, showing some of your multiple talents and the difficult stuff. Emotionally this is a stand out. Keep on!
that was a most fulfilling 2 hour movie... inspirational movies are the best and if it comes from something like hiking 2000 miles/ 3000kms continously over months even more so - congratulations and thanks for sharing a part of your lifes journey 🤝👍🙏
I was so thrilled to see our Trail Magic in New Hampshire made the cut for this! It was so much fun and meeting you and Groceries was a real treat too!
I watched your hike as it was unfolding and loved it! My favorite part of the movie is when you pull out the Bigelow tea after carrying it with you for so many miles....goose bumps!
Wow, found your channel and what a hike you had! It was lovely, and tough, and beautiful! You are awesome and inspiring. Thank you for sharing your journey.🥾🥾😎
I followed your PCT videos pretty religiously and loved them. I wish I’d found your channel earlier and watched your AT hike, but this summary video was amazing and made me cry too. Also watched your wheelchair to thru-hiker video. You’re an inspiration. Looking forward to your future adventures.
I am watching you hike the PCT now and enjoy your videos so much, I decided to go back and watch this one of the AT. You do such a good job with your videos and are so funny! Thanks for the entertainment and inspiration!
YOU ARE 100% rite THE DOVER OAK is the bigest oak on the AT. I know that as a fac as I did maintain a two-mile piece of the trail there for years. HOPE ALL ENJOY ANY PART OF THE AT it is GREAT TAKE CARE ALL
WOW. Congratulations. A very well made video of your incredible achievement. Thank you so much for zeroing in on the trail rather than the emotions. Sending you positive vibes for whatever you decide to do with the rest of your newfound life. Thank you for sharing your experience. So very proud of you.
Thank you for such a great perspective of the Appalachian Trail. You did such fine work showing so much of the highlights of t is wonderful wilderness mountain trail. I'm 69 years old and always wanted to hike the AT, yet I'm now in a wheelchair, and must rely on nice people like you to show me how nice it is. I watched a mom and her four boys that went by the trail name; The Field Trip, who hiked the trail in 2021, which was such a rainy year that a major part of the scenery was just not visible to really enjoy. I also watched the Crawford family, Fight for Together, that completed the trail in 2018, with 6 kids, carrying a two year old the whole way. Plus their youngest daughter Filia, at age 7, who now holds the enviable title as being the youngest female AT through hiker. Congratulations on finishing the Appalachian trail, and I hope you got out of it, as much of what you were looking for. The AT is truly a very spiritual journey. If you have that big of fear of heights, the PCT, Pacific Coast Trail might not be for you. You may want to watch The Field Trip family of the mom, and her four boys who just finished the PCT in 2022.The PCT is a spectacular, and challenging trail way beyond the AT, just watch some of their PCT videos to see what I'm talking about please.
Thank you for the kind words. My fear of heights generally is related to man made things. For example I get dizzy standing on a ladder, a tower or a see through bridge. I’m generally ok standing on ground (aka a mountain).
Just wondered if you have an all terrain wheelchair (several national parks have them to reserve for free)? My mom is wanting one so she can enjoy the outdoors but doesn’t have much strength I her right arm. I’m looking at them & would love any input. Btw, I have started a channel ‘cause I was gonna try 2024 thru hike but it’s gonna be several long hikes to prepare better. Looking at Feb of 2025.
I just stumbled upon this while poking around at work. It is truly amazing and inspiring, and I am so happy you found you on the trail. If not for hiking, I would have been dead a long time ago.
I think you were meant to do this. This seems to be your calling or purpose in life. I hope everything works out for you. Finding purpose in life is not an easy thing to do, but you did it. Congratulations.
Awesome, awesome documentary and beautiful photography. I didn’t follow you last year but after watching this I’m going back and watching your journey.
I watched perhaps half of your daily AT vlogs. I didn’t think I will watch this documentary (who has time and patience for over 2 hours of DIY video?), but yesterday I clicked on it - and watched the whole thing. It is excellent - it is a document, yet very entertaining, dynamic and most of all very personal. Really well done! It is clear you are investing a lot of work in your channel, you have become one of my top 5 outdoor youtubers. Btw., for several years my wife and myself were attending dance classes and I *know* I will never be a dancer 😊. Greetings from Czechia, your European neighbour :).
Such an amazing video and I’ve watched them all. I didn’t want the video and your journey to end which I am sure is how you were feeling close to the end. I hope you find your happiness 🙏 thank you for the journey you took me on.
@hiking dancer Watched many AT videos, this has to be my favourite so far, loved this. Captivating, inspiring and uplifting. Just living through days, made me think, I know that well, feeling empty, oh yes. However, as I watched this I found myself sat here smiling so so many times. Wishing you the very very best in everything you do, keep that special aura you appear to have alive. Thankyou. Keep safe, be lucky, stay happy. Julian, UK.
This was one epic adventure, and congratulations on being able to look back and see the fruits of all your labor! I really want to hike the Appalachian Trail one day, but I feel like this compilation might be the closest thing I can come to doing that for awhile. It was really fun to watch; thanks for taking us along for the ride (or hike)!
I have watched several of your videos, but this by far has been my favorite. I loved getting to see you dancing, goofing, and just having fun with your tramily. Thank you so much for sharing your trip.
YES that was me, Ruth in Cheshire Ma! near Mt Greylock! I watched your vlogs for a while but spent the summer cycling. Congratulations to you and Grocery. So awesome. 5 of us women spent 5 days at Baxter hiking and got great views of Katadhin- so impressive.
They said you couldn't do it? Maybe you edited out all the hard parts? You made it look easy. I am watching your PCT hike and this popped up. Look I hope I get the chance to do this in a few years. If I do I hope that I end up with someone like you in the group. Has to be an awesome feeling to finish the AT!
I have had the trail as one of my bucket list items and I am not getting younger it seems. I watched this and you had inspired me to get myself ready and make it happen soon. Hopefully within the next 1.5-2 years. Thanks for inspiring me and congrats on what you accomplished and all you gained from it.
Truly awesome and spectacular video. So many memories and emotions to match. I’ve been blessed with meeting you and your friendship! Thank you for sharing “You.” - Jiffy Pop
I felt like i was there with you the whole time. This was a beautiful journey thank you so much for sharing this. I totally cried with you in the end too. good job sis! ❤️
Beautiful. I was only going to watch part but now way past my bed time. Just couldn’t not watch it all. The best documentary & no commercials. Hope all your dreams come true.
It took me 3 days to watch this...started in my hotel room last weekend while finishing the PA section of the A.T. with my friend and hiking partner. (All your southern PA footage was so familiar! Even the guy with the 2.9 second pitbull sign!) I am glad to hear you have your passion back, and I appreciate you sharing your journey! I started following you esrly in 2022 but then lost ya. While I was sick with bronchitis last fall, I rediscoverd your channel and Groceries' and Katy's also (hey, I'm a geocacher too!). It was great seeing how you all bonded and played off each other as well as taking care of and looking out for each other. Thank you for sharing your amazing journey.
This was beautiful. Not just the scenery, which certainly was, but your editing really did highlight your journey; both the physical and emotional. I watched every episode you posted as you hiked and every episode of the before the hike prep. This movie you put together was an awesome story of what the journey was, both physically and emotionally! (And you keep a pretty tight rein on those emotions.) I have to mention the sound track. I’ll preface this by mentioning that you had once experimented with adding music to your videos and asked your viewers for their thoughts. At that time, I was one of the nay sayers. I felt it was a distraction and the volume was too loud. BUT, (and, yes that’s a big but😂, the sound track in this movie……you nailed it‼️in my opinion, it enhanced the production. So, thank you so much for this! Can’t wait for the PCT, or whatever comes next.
You did a beautiful job piecing this video together. I met Groceries at my first shelter in GA. I love reliving the journey. Thank you for all your hard work filming and editing. Trillium NOBO '22
Watching this makes me miss so much watching you last year. It’s so great revisiting these memories and send the tramily. Hadn’t seen Cheeseball and Fawkes since you parted ways, hope they’re doing well.
Good morning 🌻, you are my hero, you have no idea how much this has helped me ☺️, I have been low for a while, but you have made me understand why I am here, thanks again for your help, I am so very proud of you 🤠, 💕😉😉🤠, God 🙏 bless you, thanks 👍
Wow! I cried so many times watching this. Beautiful movie!!! Thank you for opening my eyes to a whole new world. You are truly an inspiration. Sending love ❤
Glad to see more positive feedback-which is what I expected. Hiking through trails must be extremely difficult and you should be very proud! The person who said "not surprised " was rude and insensitive. Please know it says everything about who they are and nothing about you. Kudos to you!
This movie is so good. I'm only halfway thru (haha) the movie but I had to write a comment. This a wonderful watch for a future, (attempting) thru hiker(January, 2024). Your daily good morning brings a smile to my face. This movie warms my heart. Thank you for this.
Congratulations on completing your trip, I enjoyed watching your documentary, looked like you and your hiking family had alot of fun along g the way which I assume It must have made the hard days a little easier to make it through the hard days. I'm planning to make my trip in 2024, j hope I can hook up with a group to help encourage one another.
Taylor, I love how you’re confident in your choices. You definitely don’t owe any of us an explanation. This is your hike and I support how you’re choosing to do it. ❤ I know for our thru attempt next year, I’ll definitely be respectfully hiking my own hike without concern of other people’s opinions.
I'm watching your videos in order to get ready to begin hiking 127 miles on the Pinhoti Trail on Monday. Cheeseball reminds me of my youngest daughter. Fun spirited.
Looks like an amazing adventure!! Good for you! I hope you go on to have even more big adventures. I think you can avoid post-trail depression by immediately planning your next adventure. I'm dreaming about my own big adventure here in South Australia with my partner, however being 49 and having major neck problems I'm considering the use of a hand-held hike trailer to take the weight off my spine and shoulders. Have you seen anyone use these or had any experience with them? I realise there would be limitations but we'd be happy to stick to moderate trails. I think I could pull even more weight than I could carry on a backpack. I can't wait to get out there!
…Well done, you! Such a well made, thoughtful and entertaining documentary of your personal journey. I only found your vlog recently and so glad this one popped up. Wishing you the best as you continue your journey! 🥰
I watched every minute, and it was delightful. Great job on putting your journey together in this format and for inspiring others to "Find your why". Planning my first ever thru-hike of the A.T. next Spring!!
Roadrunner you did a great job on your video good see how you showed the excitement of a new hiker in the uncertainties and by the end of your hike you showed your experience of a seasoned hiker a job well done on your finish and I have to thank you for making me a movie star in your video even though it was a small cameo@ 2:03.06 lol take care (Padre)
OK… Now that I’m finished crying… I wanted you to know that I faithfully watched you every morning. I loved that, I’m so happy for you. Thanks for sharing with us ❤
Thank you for bringing us along this beautiful hike with you. Wonderful documentary. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@hikingdancer so very much.♥️
Juliane it’s hard not to become emotionally involved after following your hike and now watching it all laid out so beautifully. It was hard for me to hear you say, you felt dead inside. Immediately a verse from Psalm 30 came into my mind. “Thou has turned my mourning into dancing.”
That’s a great verse . Thank you for sharing

I can see all your hard work and dedication making this video, the music, the editing. It is amazing!!!!
Thank you Jill
My vote for best thru-hiking video of the year.
Thank you so much
Love your style of videography. You moved through the Trail at a great pace. Not too slow, not to fast. So many great shots. Thanks.
Much appreciated!
Juliane, just a beautiful documentary of your Appalachian Trail thru hike and of the wonderful trail family that you supported and received so much in return. You were my favorite hiker I followed last year. It was so nice to see this great summary of your hike. Your humor and sincerity showed through your hike. I also saw a funnier side to you when I watched Lil'Chaps vlogs. Looking forward to future hikes.
I’m pretty silly sometimes. Glad you enjoyed
You are the first hiker I ever followed and followed their entire journey. You will always have a special place in my heart and have inspired me. Wow Dawn, thank you for such a nice message. I’m so excited for your future Thru hike 🤗
Just remembering how happy I was for you . Still many RIVER CROSSINGS to go.

Just imagining yourself in NH and ME seeing the "kinda dangerous" pile of rocks in PA and going "finally, a break."
lol! You are not wrong
Awesome beautiful vlogging, hiking, scenery, very much enjoyed, all the very best, health and happiness, cheers.
This is so great! I wouldn't have missed watching you daily for anything, but this encapsulation is just awesome. And it's fun to re-live it all. 🙂
Thank youuuuuuuu
Yea, I enjoyed your pizass and your silly goofy cuteness. You put a lot of fun into a great accomplishment! This video was riveting. Congratulations!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for taking us along.
Glad you enjoyed
You are so fortunate to have had this experience and WE are fortunate you shared it with the world! Thank you!
Outstanding, I sincerely enjoyed it! Hike on, Roadrunner…….
Glad you enjoyed it!
You covered it all. Brought back many good memories. Congratulations on the life changing event!
Thanks so much!
Wow, thank you!
That was a great documentary. You are a brave young woman. Congratulations.
You did it, congratulations and thanks for capturing it on video and sharing.
That is awesome!
Thanx for the great entertainment and grand adventure! Oh yeah, and the humor! 😂
Truly awesome and spectacular video. So many memories and emotions to match. I’ve been blessed with meeting you and your friendship! Thank you for sharing “You.” - Jiffy Pop
Thank you Jiffy Pop for your support but mostly for your friendship.🤗
I felt like i was there with you the whole time. This was a beautiful journey thank you so much for sharing this. I totally cried with you in the end too. good job sis! ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful. I was only going to watch part but now way past my bed time. Just couldn’t not watch it all. The best documentary & no commercials. Hope all your dreams come true.
Glad you enjoyed it
Beautiful, congrats, I watched from the beginning to the end!
What a beautiful journey! Thank you for your honesty and for sharing the little moments on trail. I love the music!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow, I have watched a few persons AT hikes, but yours is by far the best I have ever seen!
Thank you so much
I love this vlog! Very beautiful scenery. Put together well!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for coming back to my channel. So glad you enjoyed the movie
This was beautiful. Not just the scenery, which certainly was, but your editing really did highlight your journey; both the physical and emotional. I watched every episode you posted as you hiked and every episode of the before the hike prep. This movie you put together was an awesome story of what the journey was, both physically and emotionally! (And you keep a pretty tight rein on those emotions.)
I have to mention the sound track.
Gosh ! Thank you so much for these words. Choosing the do gs and editing was very difficult for me. I’m so happy you liked it.
You did a beautiful job piecing this video together. I met Groceries at my first shelter in GA. I love reliving the journey. Thank you for all your hard work filming and editing. Trillium NOBO '22
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is one of the best AT documentaries I've ever seen. Congratulations and so very well done.
Wow, thank you!
Watching this makes me miss so much watching you last year. It’s so great revisiting these memories and send the tramily. Hadn’t seen Cheeseball and Fawkes since you parted ways, hope they’re doing well.
Thank you so much
Du bist auf dem richtigen Weg!!! Danke für dieses tolle Video, was für ein Abenteuer! Herzliche Grüße from good old Germany 😀🤗
Thank you for such lovely words
Wow! I cried so many times watching this. Beautiful movie!!! Thank you for opening my eyes to a whole new world. You are truly an inspiration. Sending love ❤
Wow, thank you
Glad to see more positive feedback-which is what I expected. Hiking through trails must be extremely difficult and you should be very proud! The person who said "not surprised " was rude and insensitive. Please know it says everything about who they are and nothing about you. Kudos to you!
Thank you
I Hope one day when all my foot Surgerys are done to be able to walk the whole Trail
CONGRADULATIONS TO ALL THAT HAVE DONE THE WHOLE TRAIL
Nice job! Thank you for sharing this journey.
Thanks for watching!
Love your thumbnail shot! Looking forward to the video. ❤
Awe thank you Jeff
This movie is so good. I'm only halfway thru (haha) the movie but I had to write a comment. This a wonderful watch for a future, (attempting) thru hiker(January, 2024). Your daily good morning brings a smile to my face. This movie warms my heart. Thank you for this.
Thank you so much Brent
Thank you for this... loved the way you told your story....and thank you for letting us tag along.😊
Thank you so much
Congratulations on completing your trip, I enjoyed watching your documentary, looked like you and your hiking family had alot of fun along g the way which I assume It must have made the hard days a little easier to make it through the hard days. I'm planning to make my trip in 2024, j hope I can hook up with a group to help encourage one another.
That’s so fun! I’m sure you’ll love it
Thanks for sharing your hike. Loved it so much.
Thank you
It's nice to see you climb rocks. Glad rocks don't grow in rain.
Thank you
Taylor, I love how you’re confident in your choices. You definitely don’t owe any of us an explanation. This is your hike and I support how you’re choosing to do it. ❤ I know for our thru attempt next year, I’ll definitely be respectfully hiking my own hike without concern of other people’s opinions.
👍🏼
Great video. My spouse watched [not a hiker] and was entralled with your accomplishment.
That is awesome!
Thank you for sharing! Rock on!
What an inspiration!!! You have so much drive and perseverance. Best wishes on your next challenge to surmount.
Great video I love how you put everything together you've been through a lot
Thank you! It means a lot
I'm watching your videos in order to get ready to begin hiking 127 miles on the Pinhoti Trail on Monday. Cheeseball reminds me of my youngest daughter. Fun spirited.
She’s so fun
Wow Amazing Journey, Absolutely Beautiful! 😍 Thank you so much for capturing so much beauty in your journey and sharing it with everyone. 🤗🙏❤
My pleasure 😊
I loved how you quoted all the naysayers at the end of the video as you completed your hike. Kudo's.
Thank you
Loved every minute of your journey. Thank you for sharing this. ❤
So glad! Thank you
Looks like an amazing adventure!!
Congrats, J! So lovely to review your adventure tonight!❤
Thank you so much
…Well done, you! Such a well made, thoughtful and entertaining documentary of your personal journey. I only found your vlog recently and so glad this one popped up. Wishing you the best as you continue your journey! 🥰
Thank you and welcome to my channel
Great video! You're awesome! I regret not following your journey last year. I subscribed now. I won't miss your PCT journey.
Thank you so much
I watched every minute, and it was delightful. Great job on putting your journey together in this format and for inspiring others to "Find your why". Planning my first ever thru-hike of the A.T. next Spring!!
Oh yay. So excited for you
Roadrunner you did a great job on your video good see how you showed the excitement of a new hiker in the uncertainties and by the end of your hike you showed your experience of a seasoned hiker a job well done on your finish and I have to thank you for making me a movie star in your video even though it was a small cameo@ 2:03.06 lol take care (Padre)
Lol nice 😊
You did it! Way to go! So happy for you ❤
Thank you!! 😊
