@@D2DNYAC My issue with this thermostat T3 is the fan does not shut off in "Fan Auto" mode. The thermostat is tied to a Carrier 4 ton unit that has a heat pump. In the video you mention for heat pump only O/B gets a wire and W does not get a wire. My O/B has the orange wire, and W has the white wire. Should I take out the white wire and tape it? Another fact - when the fan is "on" mode it is running at a higher speed, in the "fan auto" mode the fan speeds slows down, and when the thermostat front is taken off the base plate the fan shuts off. I called tech support, and they had me remove the front of the thermostat and check the electrical volts coming to the points....all came in the 28.5 to 29.8v range....which they said were within the set limits...but thought the high reads were the reason the fan was not going off.,.even though they were not sure. Any insight on a solution would be helpful. I think the thermostat is defective and have bought a T5 to replace it.

Most of my wiring is the same but my old Tstat had a Black wire going to W/E and when I talked to Honewell they said to "Tape it off". Now I have no heat at all. Compressor and fan run but no heat! It's in the 50's in my house and I can't figure this out. My old Blue wire was on the "C" terminal. I'm guessing I will have to pull the cover off of my Heat Pump unit and try to figure out which wires go to what. Or just hook my old Tstat back up so we have heat. I was just gonna change it out to this Programmable one so we could control when the heat and A/C was going to come on during "peak" hours....which our Power Company has CRAZY charges for. Lot of people upset about what they are doing.

Hi, thanks for your video. I have 5 wires controlling a heat pump with aux/ emergency, and A/C
White, red, yellow, green, blue. There were 2 jumpers W2 to WE and RC to RH. I see you said the T3 thermostat takes care of the red/24 volt just needing one.
Does the same apply to the W2 to WE jumper? My Aux is blowing cold. The blue wire was on O/B so I put it in O/B

Just note what wires are connected to your thermostat before you remove it. My thermostat used the Blue wire as the ground wire and there was no black wire. They might have done that because it's the Downstairs Thermostat. If you take a picture of your old Thermostat wiring that makes things easier. Your old lugs are labeled so you will know what function each wire has even if one might not be the same color. The installer might have run into a bad wire in the harness and used a different colored wire in the harness instead.

I have the Red wire going to "R" as it was on the previous thermostat, but the black wire was connected to 'W', so that's where I have this setup currently. Just bought a Honeywell T3 thermostat. My old Honeywell is not reading correctly on the temperature, AC companies said I should replace it. I only have four wires, white for heating, yellow for air conditioning, green for fan, red for power 24 v. Seems pretty basic white to W yellow to Y green to G red to R. Hooked mine all up to the gray shaded plugins. Something's wrong my blower turns on and my heater but not my air conditioning cooler. All the wires were stuck in correctly nothing loose. Do you have any demonstrations on four wires, what could be the the problem, I ended up putting my older thermostat back on everything works.

My old Lux system on program waits for the correct time before it turns on then turns off when the correct temperature is reached. Turns on again if it drops a degree or more, maybe more than a few minutes.
This T3 starts hours early and it turns off when it reaches set temp and turns on again for a minute to keep set temp. It will stay off longer. Is this normal and is the short heat cycle bad for the furnace? I dont know why it turns on again even if set temp is shown.
